Objective: To explore the effects of donor sperm on reproductive quality of life, sleep quality and erectile function in patients with severe oligoasthenospermia after the failure of intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), and to provide targeted reference for intervention.
Methods: From January 2021 to December 2023, patients with severe oligoasthenospermia who received assisted pregnancy treatment in Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital Affiliated to Tongji University were selected as the study objects. Among them, 82 cases using sperm donor assisted pregnancy after ICSI failure were set as the observation group, and 82 cases using propensity score 1:1 matching ICSI failure after ICSI assisted pregnancy were set as the control group.

The outbreak of COVID-19 led to the emergence of various forms of mutual aid. While prior research has demonstrated that mutual aid can contribute to participants' subjective well-being, the majority of these studies are qualitative and lack clear understanding of the underlying mechanisms. Using a questionnaire survey and structural equation modeling, this study finds that mutual aid significantly enhances the subjective well-being of participants in China.

Background And Aims: Increasing interest in hypnotherapy's application for a wide range of health conditions has spurred a rise in global research and publications. This study aims to visualize development patterns and current research hotspots in clinical hypnotherapy practice using scientometric methods, and to predict future research directions based on the keyword trending topics analysis.
Methods: Data on hypnotherapy applications and mechanisms in clinical settings between 1994 and 2023 were gathered from Scopus, Web of Science, and PubMed, followed by analysis and visualization using the VOSviewer, package in , and CiteSpace.

Osteocalcin (OCN) is a hormone secreted by osteoblasts and has attracted widespread attention for its role in regulating brain function. Clinical studies indicate a positive correlation between levels of circulating OCN and cognitive performance. Indeed, lower circulating OCN has been detected in various neurodegenerative diseases (NDs), while OCN supplementation under certain conditions may improve cognitive function.

Background: Compassion fatigue is common among nurses and can lead to decreased motivation, impaired physical and mental health, and turnover. Nursing interns often face environments the same as professional nurses, yet their compassion fatigue has received less attention. Therefore, this study aims to assess the prevalence and related factors of compassion fatigue among nursing interns.

As severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) continues to evolve, mortality rates of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have significantly decreased. However, a variable proportion of patients exhibit persistent prolonged symptoms of COVID-19 infection (long COVID). This virus primarily attacks respiratory system, but numerous individuals complain persistent skeletal muscle pain or worsening pre-existing muscle pain post COVID-19, which severely affects the quality of life and recovery.

Background: This investigation delineates the influence of resistance training on the expression of synaptic plasticity-related proteins in the hippocampi of insulin-resistant mice and explores the underlying molecular mechanisms.
Methods: Six-week-old male C57BL/6 J mice were stratified into a control group and a high-fat diet group to induce insulin resistance over a 12-week period. Subsequently, the mice were further divided into sedentary and resistance training cohorts, with the latter engaging in a 12-week ladder-climbing regimen.

Background: Whole-body vibration (WBV) is a commonly used physical exercise for disease prevention and rehabilitation. Recent studies indicated the beneficial mechanism of WBV may be associated with its anti-inflammatory potential, however, its regulatory roles on different inflammatory mediators remained controversial. The aim of this study was to perform a meta-analysis to re-confirm the effects of WBV exercise on various inflammatory factors.

This article reviews the role of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) in the elderly population, questioning the established view that advocates the ubiquitous health benefits of HDL cholesterol. High levels of HDL-C have been found to be associated with an increased risk of debilitating fractures, dementia, and cardiovascular disease, predominantly affecting older men, through the use of large population-based studies such as the ASPREE trial and the UK Biobank. Possible mechanisms are closely linked to cholesterol crystallization and altered HDL particle function.

Sarcopenia, characterized by the insidious reduction of skeletal muscle mass and strength, detrimentally affects the quality of life in elderly cohorts. Present therapeutic strategies are confined to physiotherapeutic interventions, signaling a critical need for elucidation of the etiological underpinnings to facilitate the development of innovative pharmacotherapies. Recent scientific inquiries have associated mitochondrial dysfunction and inflammation with the etiology of sarcopenia.

Background: Chronic ankle instability (CAI) is a form of musculoskeletal disease that can occur after a lateral ankle sprain, and it is characterized by pain, recurrent ankle sprains, a feeling of "giving way" at the ankle joint, and sensorimotor deficits. There has been increasing evidence to suggest that plastic changes in the brain after the initial injury play an important role in CAI. As one modality to treat CAI, whole-body vibration (WBV) has been found to be beneficial for treating the sensorimotor deficits accompanying CAI, but whether these benefits are associated with brain plasticity remains unknown.
