Background: Osoto-gari is a leg throw technique that primarily relies on the hip extension to initiate the sweeping motion of the leg. A high sweep contact velocity is a crucial factor in efficiently executing this technique. While some literature emphasises whole-body coordination in the leg-sweeping action, the roles of trunk and head motion remain unclear.

A convenient but efficient tool for evaluating dietary intakes in Chinese professional athletes has yet to be established. The aim of this study was to assess the validity of a short semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire (FFQ) through comparison with 3-day weighed food records (3DWFRs) and corresponding serum biomarkers from a cohort of 102 professional athletes, while also evaluating its reproducibility. The relative validity was assessed using Spearman correlation coefficients, cross-quintiles classification, weighted kappa, and Bland-Altman analysis, while reproducibility was evaluated using the Spearman correlation coefficients and intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC) between two FFQs.

Introduction: This study aimed to explore the impact of COVID-19 on strength performance in highly trained athletes.
Method: A force plate was employed to measure squat jump height (SJH), counter-movement jump height (CMJH), and drop jump reactive strength index (DJRSI) in 27 highly trained athletes before infection, and at one week, two weeks, and four weeks post-recovery. Additionally, an Isometric Mid-thigh Pull (IMTP) test was conducted to record maximum isometric strength (MIS) and the rate of force development of the initial phase (RFD 0-50; RFD 0-100).
Background: In volleyball, the jump serve is a crucial and commonly used serving technique. Nonetheless, the angular momentum developed during the jump serve remains unexplored. The objectives of the current study were to determine the angular momentum manifesting during the airborne phase of the jump serve and to analyse the correlations between the angular momentum variables and arm swing speed.

Purpose: The aim of this systematic review was to (1) estimate the prevalence of adhering to the MSE guidelines (at least 2 times/days a week) among adults; and (2) synthesize evidence on the correlates of adhering to the MSE guidelines.
Methods: Five electronic databases were searched (March 2022), with a total of 30 observational studies consisting of 2,629,508 participants meeting the eligibility criteria. A meta-analysis was conducted to pool the prevalence of adhering to the MSE guidelines using the results of 21 eligible studies (study aim 1); and data reporting correlates of adhering to the MSE guidelines using 12 eligible studies were synthesized and categorized based on the Socioecological Model Framework (study aim 2).

Objectives: Many studies examining 24-hour movement behaviours based on the 24-Hour Movement Guidelines (24HMG) have been published during the COVID-19 pandemic. However, no comprehensive reviews summarized and synthesized the evidence concerning studies using 24HMG. The aim of this scoping review was to synthesize the evidence from the 24HMG studies published during the pandemic.

This study aims to evaluate the effect of rhythm training in the early coordination development and to find out its role in the transfer of specific performance in young swimmers. Eighty young swimmers aged eight to twelve were divided randomly into a control group (CON, = 40, M/F=17/23) or an experimental group (EXP, = 40, M/F=19/21). A total of 72 swimmers completed all the training programs and tests included in this study (CON, = 35, M/F=15/20; EXP, = 37, M/F=16/21).

Purpose: The aims of this study were to advance knowledge on physical activity (PA) and sedentary behaviour (SB) policies in China and to highlight related gaps and opportunities in the Chinese policy landscape.
Methods: Literature and web-based searches were performed to identify national PA and SB policies in China. We assessed which of the 17 elements of the Health-Enhancing Physical Activity Policy Audit Tool (HEPA PAT, version 2) are included in each of the policy documents and whether and how they address the 'cornerstones' of PA and SB policy: PA and SB guidelines, targets, surveillance and monitoring, and public education programmes.
Closed-loop management of athletes at the training base is a compromise approach that balanced epidemic prevention and sports training during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study investigated the impact of prolonged closed-loop management on athletes' sleep and mood during the 2022 Shanghai Omicron wave. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index and the Profile of Mood States were used to assess the sleep and mood states of 110 professional athletes in "closed-loop management" at the training base after 1 and 2 months of closed-loop management, respectively, to characterize changes in sleep and mood with prolonged closed-loop management.
