Mental health disorders emerge from complex interactions among neurobiological processes across multiple scales, which poses challenges in uncovering pathological pathways from molecular dysfunction to neuroimaging changes. Here, we proposed a multiscale fusion (mFusion) method to evaluate the relevance of each gene to the neuroimaging traits of mental health disorders. We combined gene-neuroimaging associations with gene-positron emission tomography (PET) and PET-neuroimaging associations using protein-protein interaction networks, where various genes traced by PET maps are involved in neurotransmission.

As a mechanism of cell death, ferroptosis has gained popularity since 2012. The process is distinguished by iron toxicity and phospholipid accumulation, in contrast to autophagy, apoptosis, and other cell death mechanisms. It is implicated in the advancement of multiple diseases across the body.

Background: China is seeing a growing demand for rehabilitation treatments for post-stroke upper limb spastic paresis (PSSP-UL). Although acupuncture is known to be effective for PSSP-UL, there is room to enhance its efficacy.
Objective: This study explored a semi-personalized acupuncture approach for PSSP-UL that used three-dimensional kinematic analysis (3DKA) results to select additional acupoints, and investigated the feasibility, efficacy and safety of this approach.

Background: Chronic musculoskeletal pain is prevalent in individuals with hemodialysis-dependent renal failure (HDKF). The current opioid crisis highlights the urgent need for effective non-pharmacological pain management. Acupuncture, identified as a non-pharmacological intervention in clinical settings, holds promise for alleviating chronic musculoskeletal pain in HDKF patients, but well-designed studies assessing its specific effects in this population are lacking.

Follicular tracking is typically conducted using ultrasound technology, but its effectiveness is constrained by limited resolution. High-resolution imaging of deep tissues can be accomplished using luminescence imaging in the near-infrared II window (NIR-II, 1000-1700 nm); however, the contrast agents that are used lack specificity. Here, it is reported that the FDA-approved indocyanine green (ICG)-conjugated recombinant human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) protein can target early follicles with long-term effectiveness.

Cancer casts a profound shadow on global health, with pain emerging as one of the dominant and severe complications, particularly in advanced stages. The effective management of cancer-induced pain remains an unmet need. Emerging preclinical evidence suggests that targets related to tumor immunotherapy may also modulate cancer-related pain pathways, thus offering a promising therapeutic direction.

Background: Glioma, the most frequent central nervous system malignancy, is often promoted by the overexpression of Fos-like antigen 1 (FOSL1). However, the regulation of FOSL1 remains unexplored. The present study aimed to investigate the regulatory mechanism of FOSL1 to identify potential therapeutic targets for glioblastoma.

We developed the SAS macro programme %BBIplus to facilitate the implementation of BBI. This user-friendly programme allows for easy and rapid estimation and visualisation of BBI across different scenarios, including pairwise comparison RCTs with two arms, double-dummy design RCTs with three arms and factorial design RCTs with four arms.

Introduction: The incidence of postoperative gastrointestinal dysfunction (POGD) is notably high among patients following colorectal cancer surgery, highlighting the urgency for the prompt development of efficacious preventive and therapeutic approaches. Electroacupuncture (EA) represents an intervention modality that holds promise for the management of POGD. However, the existing empirical evidence substantiating its efficacy remains scarce.

Background: The Performance-Oriented Mobility Assessment (POMA) is a reliable instrument for evaluating the mobility (balance and gait) of patients with chronic stroke to manage their risk of falling; however, it has not been validated among Chinese patients with stroke. This study aimed to evaluate the reliability and validity of the Chinese POMA in patients with stroke.
Methods: The POMA was applied to volunteer patients with stroke from the Shanghai MCC Hospital.

Introduction: Anxiety-like insomnia is a known risk factor for the onset and worsening of certain neurological diseases, including Alzheimer's disease. Due to the adverse effects of current anti-insomnia medications, such as drug dependence and limited safety, researchers are actively exploring natural bioactive compounds to mitigate anxiety-like insomnia with fewer side effects. Mackerel (), a traditional Chinese medicine, is known for its tonic effects and is commonly used to treat neurasthenia.

Persistent pain frequently precipitates the development of anxiety disorders, yet the underlying mechanisms are not fully understood. In this study, we employed a mouse model that simulates trigeminal neuralgia and observed a marked reduction in the activity of GABAergic neurons in the lateral habenula (LHb), a critical region for modulating pain and anxiety. We utilized precise optogenetic and chemogenetic techniques to modulate these neurons, which significantly alleviated behaviors associated with pain and anxiety.

Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a common disease that seriously jeopardizes human health and affects patients' quality of life. The clinical efficacy of acupuncture in treating COPD is definite, and it can exert positive effects such as improving skeletal muscle degradation, airway mucus hypersecretion and pulmonary vascular remodeling in COPD rats. In recent years, the research on the underlying mechanisms of acupuncture in improving COPD has become more and more in-depth.

Our previous work had identified that at the acupuncture point (acupoint), acupuncture-induced ATP release was a pivotal event in the initiation of analgesia. We aimed to further elucidate the degradation of ATP by CD39. Acupuncture was administered at Zusanli acupoint on arthritis rats, and pain thresholds of the hindpaws were determined.

Elevated levels of butyrylcholinesterase (BuChE) have the potential to be predictive in the timely detection and diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease (AD). By inhibiting of BuChE activity can raise acetylcholine levels and intervene AD processes. Therefore, BuChE as an important factor in treatment AD has been given more and more attention in clinical studies.

Potassium ion channels play a fundamental role in regulating cell membrane repolarization, modulating the frequency and shape of action potentials, and maintaining the resting membrane potential. A growing number of studies have indicated that dysfunction in potassium channels associates with the pathogenesis and treatment of depression. However, the involvement of potassium channels in the onset and treatment of depression has not been thoroughly summarized.

Introduction: Acupuncture may help treat diabetes mellitus (DM), diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN), and adjunct therapy for cancer, but the biological mechanisms and immune-related genes involved are unclear; this study aims to clarify these aspects.
Methods: Comprehensive gene expression analysis revealed differentially expressed genes (DEGs) among DM, DPN, and control samples. Key genes from WGCNA were intersected with DEGs and acupuncture targets.
