Lumbar hernia is a rare disease with low incidence, and no golden standard surgical procedure has been established for lumbar hernias. The single-incision laparoscopic totally extraperitoneal sublay (SIL-TES) technique became a novel surgical technique for lumbar hernias. This retrospective study included 20 patients who underwent SIL-TES repair for lumbar hernia between April 2020 and March 2024.

Correlation between risk factors of cognitive dysfunction and blood pressure variability after acute ischemic stroke in northwest Shanghai.

Abstract： To explore the relationship between risk factors of cognitive dysfunction and blood pressure variability after acute ischemic stroke in northwest Shanghai to establish a model for early identification of high-risk groups of cognitive dysfunction and formulation of more targeted prevention and treatment measures. Spearman test was used to evaluate the correlation between blood pressure variability and Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) score in patients with acute ischemic stroke and the partial regression coefficient model was constructed based on the above independent risk factors, and the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was described to analyze the relevant independent risk factors. Objectives: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the value of full thread screw and different fixation configurations in Pauwels type III femoral neck fracture.

Methods: A total of 40 artificial femoral model specimens were chosen, and Pauwels type III femoral neck fracture was simulated upon osteotomy at 80°. According to random number table, models were divided into four groups (10 cases in each group): Group A received the paralleled fixation with three partial thread screws (PTSs), group B received the crossed fixation with three PTSs, group C received the paralleled fixation with two full thread screws (FTSs) and one PTS, and group D received the crossed fixation with two FTSs and one PTS.

To investigate the relationship between KCNE family gene polymorphisms of potassium channel gene and the susceptibility of atrial fibrillation (AF). In the case-control study, a total of 648 subjects were studied, of which 338 patients with atrial fibrillation were selected from the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, Putuo Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2019 to December 2019, and 310 healthy people were selected from the physical examination population during the same period. Ultrasound-based radiomics for the evaluation of fetal rat lung maturity: A noninvasive assessment method (Ultrasound-based radiomics in fetal rat lung).

Objective: To establish a classification model for the evaluation of rat fetal lung maturity (FLM) using radiomics technology.

Method: A total of 430 high-throughput features were extracted per fetal lung image from 134 fetal lung ultrasound images (four-cardiac-chamber views) of 67 Sprague-Dawley (SD) fetal rats with a gestational age of 16-21 days. The detection of fetal lung tissues included histopathological staining and the expression of surface proteins SP-A, SP-B, and SP-C.

To develop a novel method for predicting neonatal respiratory morbidity (NRM) by ultrasound-based radiomics technology. In this retrospective study, 430 high-throughput features per fetal-lung image were extracted from 295 fetal lung ultrasound images (four-chamber view) in 295 single pregnancies. Images had been obtained between 28 and 37 weeks of gestation within 72 h before delivery.

Pingchuan formula improves allergic asthma in mice through inhibiting nuclear factor-kappa B / mitogen-activated protein kinase signaling pathway.

Objective: To examine the role and decipher the mechanism of Pingchuan formula (PCF) in treating allergic asthma.

Methods: The mice were treated with saline, dexamethasone (DXM) and PCF for 1 week after the asthma model was established and their respiratory function including respiratory resistance (RI), pulmonary dynamic compliance (Cdyn) and maximum voluntary ventilation (MVV) were measured. In addition, cellular changes in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) and pathological changes in lung biopsy as well as the expression level of -smooth muscle actin (α-SMA), transforming growth factor-beta1 (TGF-α1) in BALF and interleukin-5 (IL-5), interleukin-13 (IL-13), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interferon-γ (IFN-γ), nuclear factor-kappa B-p65 (NF-κBp65), inhibitor-α of nuclear transcription factor κB (IκBα), p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (p38MAPK), c-jun n-terminal kinase (JNK) and its phosphorylated proteins in lung tissue were also examined and compared among different groups.

The purpose of this study is to mine new lncRNA-mRNA regulatory pairs and analyze the new mechanism of lncRNA involvement in breast cancer progression. Using breast cancer miRNA and mRNA expression profiling from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), we identified 59 differentially expressed lncRNAs, 88 differentially expressed miRNAs, and 1,465 differentially expressed mRNAs between breast cancer tissue and adjacent normal breast cancer.
