Introduction: Previous observational studies have indicated an association between social isolation and an increased risk of cardiovascular diseases such as angina, but various factors may confound these studies. This study employs Mendelian randomization to investigate the causal relationship between social isolation and angina, minimizing potential confounding effects.

Methods: We conducted a two-sample Mendelian randomization analysis using genetic variants as instrumental variables for social isolation.

The investigation aimed to analyze the effect of Paeoniflorin (PF) on the initiation of atrial fibrosis and atrial fibrillation (AF) induced by angiotensin II (Ang II) and explore its associated underlying mechanism. PF has anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, antioxidant, hepatoprotective, and hypolipidemic properties. However, the protective effect of PF against atrial fibrosis and AF remains unclear.

This research aimed to evaluate the therapeutic effect of corilagin (Cor) against angiotensin II (Ang II)-induced cardiac fibrosis and its underlying mechanisms. C57BL/6 mice (male, 8-10 weeks) received saline or Ang II (2.0 mg/kg/day) via subcutaneous infusion and intraperitoneal injection of Cor (30 mg/kg) for 28 days.

The study aimed to investigate the clinical significance of serum cytokine-induced apoptosis inhibitor 1 (CIAPIN1) and its potential impact on cardiac dysfunction and inflammatory response induced by sepsis. A cross-sectional study was conducted in an intensive care unit (ICU) involving 80 healthy individuals and 95 severe sepsis patients. The data were analyzed to establish the correlation between CIAPIN1 levels and the onset of cardiac dysfunction in patients with sepsis.

Background: To investigate the safety and effectiveness of cryo-balloon pulmonary vein isolation (PVI) and left atrial appendage closure (LAAC) combined procedure and half-dose rivaroxaban after operation in elderly patients with atrial fibrillation (AF).

Patients And Methods: A total of 203 AF patients presented for cryo-balloon PVI, and LAAC combined procedure was included from 2019 to 2021. Postoperative patients were anticoagulated with rivaroxaban with/without clopidogrel for 60 days, with oral rivaroxaban of 10 mg in the elderly group and 20 mg in the non-elderly group.

Objectives: The present study's objective was to investigate the association between angiopoietin-like 4 (ANGPTL4) levels and the prognosis of Atrial fibrillation (AF), the causative effect in angiotensin II- (Ang II) induced AF, and its underlying mechanisms.

Materials And Methods: Baseline serum ANGPTL-4 concentrations were measured in 130 patients with AF. Rat atrial fibroblasts were isolated from 14-day-old SD rats and transfected with Ang II treatment.
