Antigen uptake, processing, and presentation are crucial for the immune responses of protein-based vaccines. Herein, we introduced a reversible chemical cross-linking strategy to engineer protein antigens, which can be tracelessly removed upon antigen-presenting cell (APC) uptake and cellular reduction.
