[Ultrasonographic features of Castleman disease in the head and neck: a report of 7 cases].

Purpose: To summarize the ultrasonographic features of head and neck Castleman disease (CD), and to clarify its diagnostic key points.

Methods: Seven patients with head and neck CD confirmed by histopathology were collected from Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. The clinical features and ultrasound findings of the patients were evaluated.

[Nanocatalytic treatment of oral squamous cell carcinoma Cal 27 cells in vitro based on single-atom iron nanocatalysts].

Purpose: To prepare single-atom iron nanocatalysts(SAF NCs) and explore its efficacy on oral squamous cell carcinoma Cal 27 cells in vitro, and provide a new strategy for the treatment of oral squamous cell carcinoma.

Methods: SAF NCs were prepared with combination of isolation and pyrolysis, the microscopic characterization was observed by transmission electron microscopy, the morphology and chemical composition were analysed by X-ray diffractograms and elemental distribution energy spectroscopy. The catalytic properties were detected by TMB assay and electron spin resonance test, and finally the changes in the activity of Cal27 cells were observed by CCK-8, flow cytometry and confocal microscopy for in vitro treatment of oral squamous carcinoma, to investigate the therapeutic effect against Cal27 cells.

Predictive value of serum myoglobin and lactate dehydrogenase in rhabdomyolysis-induced acute kidney injury from severe heatstroke.

Objective: To explore the predictive utility of serum myoglobin (Mb) and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) for acute kidney injury (AKI) secondary to rhabdomyolysis (RM) in severe heatstroke patients.

Methods: A retrospective analysis of 58 RM patients with severe heatstroke at Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital from June 2019 to May 2022 was conducted. Patients were categorized into AKI and non-AKI groups.

[The effect of visual education based on digital intraoral scanning on postoperative anxiety in patients with immediate dental implant].

Purpose: To evaluate the effect of visual education based on digital intraoral scanning on postoperative anxiety and treatment confidence in patients with immediate dental implant.

Methods: A total of 266 patients who underwent immediate implantation in Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine from January to October 2022 were randomly divided into 2 groups based on the ratio of 1:1, the control group adopted traditional nursing education method, and the experimental group carried out visual education based on digital intraoral scanning on the basis of traditional nursing education. The anxiety self-rating scale (SAS) was used to evaluate the anxiety level after surgery, the numerical score method (NRS) was used to evaluate the patient's confidence in treatment, and visual analogue score(VAS) was used to evaluate the patient's satisfaction with nursing work.

[Current status of oral health literacy and its influencing factors among adult orthodontic patients].

Purpose: To investigate the current status of oral health literacy among adult orthodontic patients and analyze its influencing factors.

Methods: Totally 163 adult orthodontic patients were recruited by convenience sampling method from November 2021 to February 2022 at the Department of Oral and Craniomaxillofacial Surgery, Center of Craniofacial Orthodontics in Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital. General information questionnaire, Chinese version of Health Literacy in Dentistry (HeLD-14), Chinese version of Self-Efficacy Scale for Self-care (SESS) and Social Support Rating Scale (SSRS) were applied.

Neurobiological insights into lower urinary tract dysfunction: evaluating the role of brain-derived neurotrophic factor.

Lower urinary tract dysfunction (LUTD) encompasses a range of debilitating conditions that affect both sexes and different age groups. Understanding the underlying neurobiological mechanisms contributing to LUTD has emerged as a critical avenue for the development of targeted therapeutic strategies. [Investigation and analysis of the current situation of dental technical professionals in Shanghai medical institutions].

Methods: Random sample questionnaire and expert interviews were used to find out the awareness, satisfaction and improvement suggestions of dental technicians among physicians, nursing and medical technicians in medical institutions in Shanghai.

[Analysis of reasons and countermeasures for cancellation of oral and maxillofacial day surgery].

Purpose: To analyze the reasons for cancellation of oral and maxillofacial day surgery on the same day, and to propose countermeasures, so as to provide reference for improving the work efficiency and medical quality of day surgery ward.

Methods: The number of oral and maxillofacial day surgery cancellation cases in Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital, Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine from June 1, 2021, to December 31, 2021 was calculated and then the relevant causes were analyzed.

Results: During the statistical period, a total of 3134 patients underwent oral and maxillofacial day surgery.

[Construction and application of an appraisement system of oral surgery difficulty by Delphi method].

Purpose: To build an appraisement system of oral surgery difficulty by Delphi method in order to provide basis for evaluation of oral surgery level and performance appraisal methods.

Methods: Delphi method was used to perform two rounds of expert selection, combination of critical value method and synthetical index method was used to select the index, and the weight of the index system was determined by superiority chart.

Results: The final evaluation index system of oral surgery difficulty included 4 first-level indexes and 20 second-level indexes.

[Identification of circular RNA expression profiles in oral lichen planus].

Purpose: To construct the expression profile of circular RNA (circRNA) in human oral lichen planus (OLP), and to identify and validate the differentially expressed circRNA in oral lichen planus tissues and provide theoretical basis for the diagnosis and treatment of this disease.

Methods: Six patients newly diagnosed with OLP from September to December 2018 in the Department of Oral Mucosal Diseases, Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital and 6 healthy volunteers were enrolled in this study. RNA sequencing and evaluation in OLP tissues and normal oral mucosa were performed by high-throughput RNA sequencing technology, and the differences between groups were analyzed.

[MRI findings of parotid acinic cell carcinoma in 19 consecutive cases].

Purpose: To describe the MRI features of acinar cell carcinoma of parotid gland (AciCC) and to evaluate the diagnostic value of MR functional imaging.

Methods: A total of 269 cases of maxillofacial AciCC confirmed by surgery and pathology were analyzed. Among them, nineteen subjects with AciCC in the parotid gland underwent preoperative MRI examination (non-enhanced scan for one case, enhanced scan for 18 cases), seventeen patients underwent diffusion-weighted imaging scan, and 15 patients underwent dynamic contrast-enhanced scan.

[Comparison of the effects of dexmedetomidine and esmolol on controlled hypotension in patients with orthognathic surgery].

Purpose: To compare the effect of dexmedetomidine (Dex) and esmolol on controlled hypotension in patients with orthognathic surgery.

Methods: From January 2017 to December 2019, a total of 109 patients were treated with Dex (group D) and esmolol (group E) during orthognathic surgery (Le Fort I osteotomy of maxilla and sagittal split of mandibular ramus) in our hospital. Heart rate(HR) and mean arterial pressure(MAP) during controlled hypotension (the difference between the highest and lowest values and the percentage of basic values), intraoperative blood loss, allogeneic blood transfusion, operation time and dosage of propofol and remifentanil were compared between the two groups.

[Oral behavior characteristics of 540 patients suffering from temporomandibular disorders].

Purpose: To test the reliability of the Chinese version of Oral Behaviours Checklist (OBC) and explore oral behavior characteristics of patients with temporomandibular disorders (TMD).

Methods: The English version of OBC was translated forward and backward to form the Chinese version of OBC. From July 2017 to April 2018, 540 TMD patients were included.

Venous malformation (VM) is a kind of congenital vascular anomaly with high recurrence, and screening for VM lacks an efficient, inexpensive and noninvasive approach now. Serum miRNAs with stable structures are expected to become new postoperative and postablative monitoring biomarkers. [Treatment of extensive cervicomandibular scar in children and adolescent patients with bilateral expanded scapular flaps: report of 7 consecutive cases].

Methods: This study reviewed 7 children and adolescent patients who received bilateral expanded scapular flaps to treat extensive cervicomandibular scars in the Pediatric Plastic Surgery Ward from August 2018 to December 2020. The scars in all patients involved neck, mandible, and anterior chest.
