Background: Acute kidney injury (AKI) resulting from ureteral stones in the emergency department is typically accompanied with anxiety and sleep issues in patients, which can have adverse effects on their mental health and quality of life. Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is helpful in improving mental health and sleep. This work aims to analyse the effects of CBT on mental health and sleep of AKI patients caused by ureteral calculi in the emergency department.

Type 2 diabetes associated with areca nut usage: A systematic review and meta-analysis.

Aims/hypothesis: This study aimed to evaluate the potential association between chewing areca nuts and the occurrence of type 2 diabetes and to investigate whether chewing status (current chewers or ex-chewers) affects this association.

Methods: We searched The Cochrane Library, PubMed, and EMBASE databases for relevant studies up to May 21, 2023, using predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. Three population-based studies conducted in Taiwan were included in the systematic review and meta-analysis.

Brown tumor due to primary hyperparathyroidism in a familial case: a case report.

Background: Primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) is an uncommon disorder characterised by hypercalcemia with an increased parathyroid hormone level. We reported a PHPT familial case with two subjects, a father and a daughter, and both of them had suffered from the brown tumor.

Case Presentation: The proband, a 43-year-old patient, developed parathyroid adenomas at the age of 15; a histologically confirmed right parathyroid adenoma was removed by parathyroidectomy; and after six months follow-up, the serum calcium level was normalised.

Background: Living near and enjoying visually green landscapes is associated with better mental health, but evidence focusing on vulnerable populations (such as cancer survivors) is sparse. The purpose of this study was to explore the association between residential greenspace and anxiety and depressive symptoms among cancer survivors in Shanghai, China.

Methods: In total, 4195 cancer survivors participated in this study from the 2022 Shanghai Cancer Patient Needs Survey.

Purpose: We conducted this umbrella review to review the current evidence on the relationship between COVID-19 and sexual health in both men and women.

Methods: We conducted searches in Pubmed, Embase, and the Cochrane dataset for meta-analyses that met our pre-set inclusion criteria. We included studies with detailed information investigating the link between COVID-19 and sexual health in men/women.

Current status of and future perspectives on care for cancer survivors in China.

Cancer is currently a major public health issue faced by countries around the world. With the progress of medical science and technology, the survival rate of cancer patients has increased significantly and the survival time has been effectively prolonged. How to provide quality and efficient care for the increasingly large group of cancer survivors with limited medical resources will be a key concern in the field of global public health in the future.

Background: Cancer survivors at different stages of life often have different needs that make it challenging for services to provide satisfactory care. Few studies have considered whether services are truly meeting the needs of cancer patients by exploring and identifying their perspectives on unmet needs.

Objective: The aim of this study was to identify the unmet needs of cancer survivors and to further determine the potential impact of socio-demographic factors.

Background: Zinc finger and bric-a-brac/tramtrack/broad (ZBTB) domain-containing proteins have been reported to be associated with many tumors' development. However, in tumor initiation and progression, the role of ZBTB9, one of the protein family, and its prognostic value were yet to be elucidated in Liver Hepatocellular Carcinoma (LIHC).

Methods: We used R software and online bioinformatics analysis tools such as GEPIA2, cBioPortal, TIMER2, Metascape, UALCAN, STRING, TISIDB, and COSMIC to investigate ZBTB9's characteristics and function in LIHC, including abnormal expression, carcinogenic role, related signaling pathways and prognostic value.

Efficacy of the Integration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine in Coronary Heart Disease Comorbid with Anxiety and Depression: A Meta-Analysis.

Objective: The purpose of this study is to assess the efficacy and safety of the integration of Western medicine with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) which is comorbid with anxiety and depression.

Methods: Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) were searched in databases such as VIP, WanFang, CNKI, Embase, PubMed, and Cochrane Library from the inception of databases to November 2021. RCTs on treating CHD comorbid with anxiety and depression with the integration of TCM and Western medicine were retrieved, and publications were screened according to the screening criteria.

In 2018, we conducted a national survey among Chinese biobank managers and directors.

Needs of cancer patients during the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron lockdown: A population-based survey in Shanghai, China.

The aim of this study was to investigate the medical and healthcare needs of cancer patients during the Shanghai lockdown due to the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron pandemic. From April 15 to April 21, 2022, 4,195 cancer patients from every district in Shanghai were surveyed using quota sampling via an online platform. The questionnaire consisted of three main parts: demographic and sociological data, disease diagnosis, and different dimensions of patients' needs.

Rate-Dependent Depression: A Predictor of the Therapeutic Efficacy in Treating Painful Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy.

We investigated the application of rate-dependent depression (RDD) of the Hoffmann (H) wave as a predictor of treatment efficacy in patients with painful diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN). General medical information, scales, and nerve conduction data were collected from 73 healthy subjects, 50 subjects with type 2 diabetes and painless DPN, and 71 subjects with type 2 diabetes and painful DPN. The left tibial nerve was stimulated, and RDD was calculated by the decline in amplitude of the third H wave relative to the first one.

Modified Trisection Technique: One-Trip Explantation for Foldable Intraocular Lens.

Purpose: We present a new technique that allows an intraocular lens to be explanted through the small incisions used in modern cataract surgery.

Methods And Results: The intraocular lens optic is cut into three connected pieces at the 1-mm-wide end with scissors. Then, with the stabilizing counterforce provided by a pair of vitreoretinal forceps through a paracentesis, the middle piece is removed first, followed by the two side pieces connected with haptics flipped over at the connected part.
