Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are a new focus in cardiovascular diseases. The necrosis-related factor (NRF) is a newly discovered lncRNA, which is increased in myocardial injury. We investigated the role of lncRNA-NRF in heart failure (HF) after acute myocardial infarction (AMI) to find a biomarker for early HF detection.

Background: We observe changes of the main lymphocyte subsets (CD16CD56、CD19、CD3、CD4、and CD8) in COVID-19-infected patients and explore whether the changes are associated with disease severity.
Methods: One-hundred and fifty-four cases of COVID-19-infected patients were selected and divided into 3 groups (moderate group, severe group and critical group). The flow cytometry assay was performed to examine the numbers of lymphocyte subsets.

A helpful evaluation system is crucial for the postoperative prognosis prediction of clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) patients. This study determined the prognostic value of combining intratumoral RASSF10 expression and tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) with the established clinicopathological indicators in ccRCC patients. RASSF10 expression was analyzed in ccRCC patient data from online databases and ccRCC cell lines.

Background As the number of patients increases, there is a growing understanding of the form of pneumonia sustained by the 2019 novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2), which has caused an outbreak in China. Up to now, clinical features and treatment of patients infected with SARS-CoV-2 have been reported in detail. However, the relationship between SARS-CoV-2 and coagulation has been scarcely addressed.

Background: We aimed to evaluate the utility of p16/Ki-67 dual-stained cytology for triaging human papillomavirus (HPV)-positive women.
Methods: HPV-positive women ages ≥ 21 years were recruited in a multicenter prospective observational study between May 2016 and May 2017. The clinical performance of dual-stained cytology, with or without HPV16/18 genotyping, was evaluated for all HPV-positive women to detect cervical intraepithelial neoplasia grade 2 or worse (CIN2+).

Type 2 taste receptor 10 (TAS2R10), belonging to the TAS2R family of bitter receptors, is widely expressed in extra-oral tissues. However, its biological roles beyond bitterness sensing in the tongue have remained largely elusive. The present study aimed to perform a positive co-expression analysis using 60,000 Affymetrix expression arrays and 5,000 The Cancer Genome Atlas datasets to uncover such roles.

MicroRNA-200b (miR-200b) down-regulation has been found in wound-healing tissues. Fibroblasts are the predominant cells that orchestrate the production of collagen in wound healing. However, it is still unclear whether miR-200b can affect the wound healing by regulating the fibroblasts' function.

Background: Downstream of tyrosine kinase 6 (DOK6), which is specifically expressed in the nervous system, was previously recognized as an adapter only in neurite outgrowth. Recent studies also demonstrated the potential role of DOK6 in solid tumors such as gastric cancer and breast cancer. However, previous studies of DOK6 have not dealt with its roles in myeloid malignancies.

Objectives: The HIV/AIDS epidemic rages on in China, particularly among men who have sex with men (MSM). MSM with HIV/AIDS also tend to have poorer quality of life than other members of the population. A major contributor to these issues is the huge gap between the increasing demand of MSM for medical services and the availability of such services; their current needs cannot be met only with the services of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

Exosomes derived from mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are known to participate in myocardial repair after myocardial infarction (MI), but the mechanism remains unclear. Here, we isolated exosomes from adipose-derived MSCs (ADSCs) and examined their effect on MI-induced cardiac damage. To examine the underlying mechanism, H9c2 cells, cardiac fibroblasts, and HAPI cells were used to study the effect of ADSC-exosomes on hypoxia-induced H9c2 apoptosis, TGF-β1-induced fibrosis of cardiac fibroblasts, and hypoxia-induced macrophage M1 polarization using qRT-PCR, western blot, ELISA, immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence and flow cytometry.

Background: BCL2 protein inhibitor venetoclax (ABT-199) has been authorized by Food and Drug Administration for relapsed/refractory chronic lymphoid leukemia with 17p deletion. Although venetoclax/ABT-199 also caused cell death in acute myeloid leukemia (AML), whether it could be applied to clinical treatment needs further studies. Here, we revealed clinical implication of BCL2 overexpression in de novo adult AML, and may provide theoretical basis for targeted therapy using venetoclax.

Circular RNAs (circRNAs) have an important function in human diseases, especially in cancer. circRNA hsa_circ_0014130 (circPIP5K1A), a particularly abundant circRNA, participates in the tumorigenesis of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), although the underlying regulatory mechanism remains unclear. Here, we investigated the circPIP5K1A role in NSCLC.

Objective: Hepatitis B virus (HBV) causes inflammation of the liver and is the leading cause of both liver cirrhosis (LC) and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Serine protease inhibitor Kazal type 1 (SPINK1) is an acute-phase response protein that is overexpressed in liver cancer tissue. This study investigated the clinical value of SPINK1 with regard to the diagnosis of HBV-related diseases and its regulatory mechanism.

Collect 172 patients with subjective tinnitus and 54 non-tinnitus subjects, record history through T-MIST, observe the distribution of the tinnitus patients, an illness population characteristics, precise detection in patients with tinnitus related status indicators and analysis of gender, age, hearing loss, and the correlation of frequency of hearing loss and tinnitus, at the same time in surgical treatment and analysis of its curative effect. The incidence of hypertension, sleep disturbance, diabetes, chronic noise exposure, rhinitis, colds and cervical spondylosis during tinnitus was high, and the frequency of tinnitus and hearing loss were high.

Circular RNAs (circRNAs) are a class of non-coding RNAs that are broadly expressed in various biological cells and function in regulating gene expression. They are structurally stable and tissue-specific. However, the function of human circRNAs and the role of circRNAs in papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) remain to be determined.

Childhood obesity is a predictor of adult obesity and has its roots in the pre-pregnancy or pregnancy period. This review presents an overview of the prenatal risk factors for childhood obesity, which were categorized into 2 groups: biological risk factors (maternal pre-pregnancy body mass index, gestational weight gain, diabetes in pregnancy, and caesarean section), and environmental and behavioural risk factors (maternal smoking and exposure to obesogens, maternal dietary patterns, maternal intestinal microbiome and antibiotics exposure, and maternal psychosocial stress). Identifying modifiable predisposing prenatal factors for obesity will inform further development of inventions to prevent obesity over the life course, and future directions for research and intervention are discussed.

BACKGROUND Sepsis-induced lung injury is associated with high mortality. The present investigation evaluated the protective effect of hesperidin against sepsis-induced lung injury and also postulates the possible mechanism of its action. MATERIAL AND METHODS Lung injury was induced by sepsis in all animals, in which sepsis was produced by cecal ligation and puncture (CLP).
