Organoid technology provides a transformative approach to understand human physiology and pathology, offering valuable insights for scientific research and therapeutic development. Human gastric organoids, in particular, have gained significant interest for applications in disease modeling, drug discovery, and studies of tissue regeneration and homeostasis. However, the lack of standardized quality control has limited their extensive clinical applications.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the efficacy and safety of a triple therapy consisting of colchicine, thalidomide and total glucosides of paeony (TGP) in Behcet's disease (BD) patients with mucocutaneous involvement.
Methods: Totally 355 newly diagnosed BD patients with mucocutaneous involvement were recruited, who received dexamethasone and colchicine for the first 2 weeks, then they were categorized into "sustained triple-therapy (ST)" (n = 231) and "colchicine to triple-therapy (CT)" (n = 124) groups respectively: for ST group, patients received colchicine, thalidomide plus TGP from Month (M)0.5 to M12; for CT group, patients received colchicine from M0.

Background: Patients with myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) are characterized by chronic anemia and most of them require transfusion making them prone to developing transfusion dependence (TD) and inducing red blood cell (RBC) alloimmunization. Little information is available regarding the status of transfusions of MDS patients in China.
Materials And Methods: Clinical history and transfusion information of MDS transfusion patients from 2004 to 2023 were collected from electronic medical and laboratory records.

Background: Allergen component resolved diagnosis (CRD) is a method for identifying specific protein molecules that cause hypersensitivity. Unlike traditional methods that use crude allergen extracts containing multiple component species, CRD focuses on individual allergen protein molecules for more precise diagnosis. The World Allergy Organization (WAO) recommends CRD as a supplement to clinical history and allergen extract testing, and in some cases, it can replace crude extract tests.

Research Question: Does the presence of smooth endoplasmic reticulum aggregates (SERa) in oocytes adversely impact the euploidy rate of subsequent blastocysts?
Design: We performed a retrospective cohort study with 671 young patients (< 38 years) undergoing their first preimplantation genetic testing for aneuploidy (PGT-A) between January 2019 and October 2022 at a reproductive medical center of university affiliated teaching hospitals in China. Cycles were categorized as either SERa(+) cycles (containing at least one SERa(+) oocyte) or SERa(-) cycles (all oocytes without SERa). In SERa(+) cycles, oocytes were further subdivided into the SERa(+) oocyte group and the sibling SERa(-) oocyte group, comprising oocytes with normal morphology.

Background: The incidence of Barrett's esophagus (BE) in China is lower compared to the Western populations. Hence, studies conducted in the Chinese population has been limited. The current treatment options available for BE treatment includes argon plasma coagulation (APC), radiofrequency ablation and cryoablation, all with varying degrees of success.

Objectives: To compare the diagnostic accuracy of 3D contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS)/MRI-CEUS fusion imaging with 2D-CEUS in assessing the response of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) to locoregional therapies in a multicenter prospective study.
Materials And Methods: A consecutive series of patients with HCC scheduled for locoregional treatment were enrolled between April 2021 and March 2023. Patients were randomly divided into 3D-CEUS/MRI-CEUS fusion imaging group (3D/fusion group) or 2D-CEUS group (2D group).

Disulfidptosis, a regulated form of cell death, has been recently reported in cancers characterized by high SLC7A11 expression, including invasive breast carcinoma, lung adenocarcinoma, and hepatocellular carcinoma. However, its role in colon adenocarcinoma (COAD) has been infrequently discussed. In this study, we developed and validated a prognostic model based on 20 disulfidptosis-related genes (DRGs) using LASSO and Cox regression analyses.

Background: We aimed to observe the dynamic changes in glucose metabolic reprogramming-related parameters and their ability to predict neurological prognosis and all-cause mortality in cardiac arrest patients after the restoration of spontaneous circulation (ROSC).
Methods: Adult cardiac arrest patients after ROSC who were admitted to the emergency or cardiac intensive care unit of the First Affiliated Hospital of Dalian Medical University from August 1, 2017, to May 30, 2021, were enrolled. According to 28-day survival, the patients were divided into a non-survival group (=82) and a survival group (=38).

Patient-derived organoids (PDOs) have emerged as a promising platform for clinical and translational studies. A strong correlation exists between clinical outcomes and the use of PDOs to predict the efficacy of chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy. To standardize interpretation and enhance scientific communication in the field of cancer precision medicine, we revisit the concept of PDO-based drug sensitivity testing (DST).

Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) plays an essential role in emergency medicine, providing a range of diagnostic and procedural modalities. It does not involve any ionizing radiation and can improve procedural accuracy and safety. The role of POCUS in the care of pediatric patients differs somewhat from that of adult patients, as there are a range of conditions specific to infants and children.

Intervertebral disc is a highly rhythmical tissue. As a key factor linking biorhythm and inflammatory response, the shielding effect of NR1D1 in the process of intervertebral disc degeneration remains unclear. Here, we first confirmed that NR1D1 in the nucleus pulposus tissue presents periodic rhythmic changes and decreases in expression with intervertebral disc degeneration.
