Background: Immune checkpoint inhibitors are effective treatments for HCC; however, their therapeutic efficacy is often limited by the development of drug resistance. Therefore, investigating new combination therapeutics involving immune checkpoint inhibitors is critical to improving patient prognosis. In this study, we investigated the therapeutic effect of cordycepin (COR) in HCC and its synergistic effect with anti-programmed cell death ligand 1 (anti-PD-L1) immunotherapy.

Background: Gastrointestinal adenocarcinomas (GIACs) are common malignant tumors with poor prognosis in the world. Ferroptosis, characterized by the accumulation of intracellular iron and lipid reactive oxygen species, emerges as a pivotal process in tumorigenesis and cancer advancement. However, the implications of ferroptosis-related genes in GIAC remain to be elucidated.

Recent studies have demonstrated that integrating AI into colonoscopy procedures significantly improves the adenoma detection rate (ADR) and reduces the adenoma miss rate (AMR). However, few studies address the critical issue of endoscopist-AI collaboration in real-world settings. Eye-tracking data collection is considered a promising approach to uncovering how endoscopists and AI interact and influence each other during colonoscopy procedures.

Background And Aim: This work aims to evaluate the efficacy and safety of free-hand endoscopic full-thickness resection (EFTR) for duodenal subepithelial lesions (SELs).
Methods: We performed a retrospective review of 105 patients with duodenal SELs who underwent free-hand EFTR. Free-hand EFTR means no other devices (over-the-scope clip or full-thickness resection device) are required.

Backgroud: Oesophageal cancer ranks among the most prevalent malignant tumours globally, primarily consisting of oesophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). Cancer stem cells (CSCs) accelerate the progression ESCC via their strong self-renewal and tumourigenic capabilities, presenting significant clinical challenges due to increased risks of recurrence and drug resistance.
Methods: Our previous study has reported WYC-209, which is capable of inducing apoptosis of CSCs in melanoma and hepatoma, but is ineffective against ESCC.

Background And Aims: Chronic appendicitis is a condition with chronic abdominal pain or mild attacks of appendicitis, seriously affecting the patient's quality of life. Endoscopic retrograde appendicitis therapy (ERAT) has emerged as a promising, non-invasive treatment for acute uncomplicated appendicitis. Here, we aim to assess the safety and efficacy of ERAT for chronic fecalith appendicitis.

Background And Aims: Repeat peroral endoscopic myotomy (Re-POEM) appears to be a promising salvage option for patients with persistent or recurrent symptoms after initial POEM, but it may be more technical challenging. Here we aim to evaluate the safety and technical difficulty of Re-POEM.
Methods: Between July 2012 and October 2023, 158 achalasia patients underwent Re-POEM and were retrospectively enrolled.

Background: Transcolonic endoscopic appendectomy (TEA) is rapidly evolving and has been reported as a minimally invasive alternative to appendectomy. We aimed to characterize the feasibility and safety of a novel unassisted single-channel TEA.
Method: We retrospectively investigated 23 patients with appendicitis or appendiceal lesions who underwent TEA from February 2016 to December 2022.

Purpose: To explore the feasibility of peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM) in patients with achalasia and hiatal hernia.
Materials And Methods: We performed a retrospective review of 2136 patients with achalasia between January 2016 and December 2022. Patients with achalasia and hiatal hernia were assigned into study group, and matched patients with achalasia but no hiatal hernia were assigned into control group.

Background: Type C hepatitis B-related acute-on-chronic liver failure (HBV-ACLF), which is based on decompensated cirrhosis, has different laboratory tests, precipitating events, organ failure and clinical outcomes. The predictors of prognosis for type C HBV-ACLF patients are different from those for other subgroups. This study aimed to construct a novel, short-term prognostic score that applied serological indicators of hepatic regeneration and noninvasive assessment of liver fibrosis to predict outcomes in patients with type C HBV-ACLF.

Background: Upper gastrointestinal foreign body ingestion is a common digestive tract emergency, of which completely embedded ones were challenging for most endoscopists. We aim to evaluate the efficacy and safety of endoscopic submucosal fenestration in the treatment of completely embedded upper gastrointestinal foreign bodies.
Methods: From December 2018 to December 2021, 19 patients with completely embedded upper gastrointestinal foreign bodies who underwent endoscopic submucosal fenestration in Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan University were included.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a highly prevalent malignancy affecting the digestive system on a global scale. This study aimed to explore the previously unexplored role of CHPF in the progression of CRC. Our results revealed a significant upregulation of CHPF expression in CRC tumour tissues compared to normal tissues, with its levels correlating with tumour malignancy.

Early gastrointestinal tumors can be removed by endoscopic procedures. Endoscopic mucosal dissection (ESD) requires submucosal fluid injection to provide mucosal elevation and prevent intraoperative perforation. However, the clinically applied normal saline mucosal elevation height is low for a short time, which often requires multiple intraoperative injections that increase the inconvenience and procedure time.

Background And Aim: Endoscopic resection has been successfully used for the removal of digestive submucosal tumors (SMTs). However, the cardia has been considered a challenging location for endoscopic resection due to its narrow lumen and sharp angle. The objective of this study was to establish a clinical scoring model to grade the technical difficulty of endoscopic resection for cardial SMTs.
