Genome-wide human genetic studies have identified inherited cis-regulatory loci variants that predispose to cancers. However, the mechanisms by which these germline variants influence cancer progression, particularly through gene expression and proteostasis control, remain unclear. By analyzing genomic data from a gastric cancer (GC) case-control study (2,117 individuals), focusing on the ubiquitin-specific protease (USP) family, we identify the single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) rs72856331 (G>A) in the promoter region of the proto-oncogene USP47 as a putative susceptibility allele for GC (OR = 0.

Introduction: Denosumab (Xgeva®) is a standard treatment for the prevention of skeletal-related events (SREs) in patients with bone metastases (BM). This trial was designed to assess the equivalence of LY01011 to denosumab in terms of efficacy and safety.
Materials And Methods: Eligible patients with BM from solid tumors were randomized at a 1:1 ratio to receive 120 mg of LY01011 or 120 mg of denosumab subcutaneously every four weeks during a 12-week double-blind treatment period, and then all enrolled patients continued to receive LY01011 until week 53.

Several alkaloids found in the Zanthoxylum genus have demonstrated significant anticancer activity. However, the antitumor effects of Ethoxychelerythrine (Eth) have not been previously reported. Cell viability, colony formation, apoptosis and cell cycle analysis, intracellular and reactive oxygen species (ROS), mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP) levels of Eth against SW480 cells were evaluated.

Background: To investigate the clinical implications of serum carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA), neuron specific enolase (NSE), and pro-gastrin-releasing peptide (ProGRP) in small cell esophageal carcinoma (SCEC).
Methods: Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves were used to determine the area under the curve (AUC), sensitivity, and specificity of serum markers for differentiating SCEC from patients with esophageal squamous carcinoma (ESCC), esophageal adenocarcinoma (EAC) and healthy subjects.
Results: The combination of ProGRP and NSE demonstrated significant diagnostic efficacy in distinguishing SCEC from ESCC, EAC, and healthy individuals.

Activation of invasion and metastasis is a central hallmark of cancer, contributing to the primary cause of death for cancer patients. In the multistep metastatic process, cancer cells must infiltrate the circulation, survive, arrest at capillary beds, extravasate, and form metastatic clones in distant organs. However, only a small proportion of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) successfully form metastases, with transit of CTCs in the circulation being the rate-limiting step.

Cisplatin (CDDP) is one of the most commonly used chemotherapeutic agents for solid tumors and hematologic malignancy. However, its therapeutic outcomes have remained unsatisfactory due to severe side effects, a short elimination half-life, the emergence of drug resistance, and the induction of metastasis. Combination with other chemotherapeutic agents has been proposed as one strategy to address the drawbacks of CDDP-based therapy.

We aimed to investigate the long-term survival benefit of PET/CT compared with the routine examination (chest CT, abdominal enhanced CT and emission computed tomography (ECT)) for locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) before treatment. From June 8 2005 to August 10 2017, 507 histologically diagnosed NPC patients with the 8th AJCC/UICC staging criteria III-IVA were enrolled in this study. Among them, patients underwent chest CT, abdominal enhanced CT and bone emission CT (control group), or replaced by positron emission tomography-CT (PET-CT group) to check for distant metastases.

Brain metastases are a leading cause of mortality in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), yet their molecular mechanisms remain unclear. SEC61G, a subunit of the SEC61 translocon, has been implicated in tumor progression but its role in brain metastases is unknown. This study explores how SEC61G contributes to brain metastases by driving metabolic reprogramming and immune microenvironment remodeling.

Introduction: Lung cancer, a deadly malignancy, often employs Docetaxel (DTX) as a chemotherapy option. However, DTX non-selective distribution limits its therapeutic effectiveness due to adverse side effects. This study aims to develop novel folate-targeted albumin polyester nanocarriers (FA-DTX-APs) encapsulating DTX for precise delivery, enhancing lung cancer treatment efficacy.

Dysregulation of the MDM2-p53 pathway is a commonly observed phenomenon in cancer, where overexpression or amplification of MDM2 leads to increased degradation of p53. This results in reduced levels of p53, leading to the loss of its tumor-suppressive functions. The study focused on investigating the role of Ubiquitin-specific protease 38 (USP38) in cancer and its interaction with the MDM2-p53 axis.

Objective: This study aims to investigate the imaging features of epidermoid cysts within intrapancreatic accessory spleen (ECIPAS) to benefit the differential diagnosis of pancreatic cystic lesions.
Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the clinical, radiological and pathological data of 24 patients with pathologically confirmed ECIPAS. All cases underwent abdominal contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CE-CT) scans, with 4 cases further undergoing magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP).

Background: The widespread application of colonoscopy screening and genetic testing in colorectal cancer (CRC) treatment has led to the identification of a subset of familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) patients who lack a family history of the disease but harbor germline gene mutations. Moreover, distinct genotypes may be associated with varied clinical presentations and therapeutic options. This case report describes a male patient with de novo FAP who harbored germline double heterozygosity (GDH) for APC and BRCA2 mutations.

Convection-enhanced delivery (CED) bypasses the blood-brain barrier and avoids systemic exposure to the drug. However, systemic pharmacokinetic characteristics of a drug cannot be applied when delivered via CED. This study aims to provide a first proof-of-concept framework for noninvasively evaluating pharmacokinetics in CED.

Recent advances have shed light on the molecular heterogeneity of small cell lung cancer (SCLC), yet the spatial organizations and cellular interactions in tumor immune microenvironment remain to be elucidated. Here, we employ co-detection by indexing (CODEX) and multi-omics profiling to delineate the spatial landscape for 165 SCLC patients, generating 267 high-dimensional images encompassing over 9.3 million cells.

Objectives: There is currently no consensus regarding the optimal site-specific postoperative follow-up duration for patients with completely resected non-small cell lung cancer. Long-term surveillance for recurrence may lead to psychological distress or economic burdens for patients. We aimed to propose an appropriate site-specific follow-up strategy for patients with non-small cell lung cancer based on 10-year follow-up data.

The application of punitive damages in intellectual property cases in China has encountered notable deficiencies within the judicial context. These deficiencies, including a limited range of applicability, frequent recourse to statutory damages, difficulties in ascertaining the appropriate damages base, and a marked reliance on subjective factors in calculating multipliers, undermine judicial consistency and fairness. In this study, we conducted a comprehensive quantitative analysis by selecting 79 pertinent judgments from a dataset of 3,478 intellectual property rulings.

Introduction And Objectives: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), a leading cause of cancer fatalities, challenges clinicians with high recurrence and metastasis rates, urging the need for novel prognostic markers and therapeutic avenues. Minichromosome maintenance complex component 3 (MCM3) has been implicated in various cancers, but its role in HCC is not well-characterized.
Materials And Methods: We investigated MCM3 expression in HCC through cell line and patient sample analyses, functional assays to determine its effect on cellular behaviors, and signal pathway exploration.
