[2011 Shanghai customer satisfaction report of DSA/X-ray equipment's after-service].

To improve the manufacturer's medical equipment after-sale service, the fifth Shanghai zone customer satisfaction survey was launched by the end of 2011. The DSA/X-ray equipment was setup as an independent category for the first time. From the survey we can show that the DSA/X-ray equipment's CSI is higher than last year, the customer satisfaction scores of preventive maintenance and service contract are lower than others, and CSI of local brand is lower than imported brand.

Over-expression of calpastatin aggravates cardiotoxicity induced by doxorubicin.

Aims: Doxorubicin causes damage to the heart, which may present as cardiomyopathy. However, the mechanisms by which doxorubicin induces cardiotoxicity remain not fully understood and no effective prevention for doxorubicin cardiomyopathy is available. Calpains, a family of calcium-dependent thiol-proteases, have been implicated in cardiovascular diseases.

Induction of apoptosis in osteosarcoma S180 cells by polysaccharide from Dictyophora indusiata.

Polysaccharides have shown great importance in cancer therapy. The current study showed that a polysaccharide from Dictyophora indusiata (PDI) also possessed anti-cancer properties. Methyl thiazolyl tetrazolium assay revealed a dose-dependent reduction of osteosarcoma S180 growth in response to PDI treatment.

Suppression of cell proliferation and collagen production in cultured human hypertrophic scar fibroblasts by Sp1 decoy oligodeoxynucleotide.

Hypertrophic scars are characterized by the abnormal proliferation of fibroblasts and an overproduction of collagen. The Sp1 transcription factor is involved in the stimulation of collagen synthesis. A decoy oligonucleotide (ODN) targeting Sp1 was designed and transfected into hypertrophic scar fibroblasts (HSFs) cells using cationic liposomes.

Neuroendocrine carcinoma of the pancreas with soft tissue metastasis.

Neuroendocrine carcinoma (NEC) of the pancreas is rare. We report the case of a 34-year-old man with pancreatic NEC with soft tissue metastasis. The patient presented with right upper abdominal discomfort.

The role of a candidate inflammatory mediator, transforming growth factor-β1 (TGFβ1), which we identified in a cytokine antibody array, in collagen synthesis and apoptosis during repetitive mechanical stretching was also investigated.

Evaluation of the antioxidant potential of Salvia miltiorrhiza ethanol extract in a rat model of ischemia-reperfusion injury.

The present study was undertaken to evaluate the protection potential of ethanol extract of Salvia miltiorrhiza (SMEE) against oxidative injury in the ischemia-reperfusion (I/R) model of rats in vivo. Rats were divided into six groups of 10 rats each. Group I/R model and sham were fed with a standard rat chow, groups SMEE I and SMEE II were fed with a standard rat chow and 400 or 800 mg/kg b.

It is well known that, haematogenous colon cancer metastases are most commonly found in the liver, less likely in the lungs through the paravertebral venous system and rarely in other organs. Sporadic clinical cases of colon cancer metastases to the abdominal wall, the thyroid or the adrenal glands have been reported. Here, we present an uncommon case of chest wall metastasis from colon cancer demonstrated with 2-fluoro [fluorine-18]-2-deoxy-D-glucose ((18)F-FDG) positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT).

Objective: To review the advances in the basic research and clinical application of tissue engineering and stem cell technology in urethral reconstruction. Urethral defects resulting from congenital malformations, trauma, inflammation, or cancer are a common urologic issue. Traditional urethral reconstruction is associated with various complications.

Improving voiding efficiency in the diabetic rat by a 5-HT1A serotonin receptor agonist.

Early colonization of intestinal bifidobacteria and lactobacilli in the postoperative neonates with congenital intestinal atresia.

Objective: To observe the early colonization of bifidobacteria and lactobacilli (B&L) in the postoperative neonate patients (NPs) with congenital intestinal atresia (CIA).

Methods: A prospective study was conducted in Shanghai Children's Hospital, Shanghai, China between February 2009 to August 2010 on 18 postoperative NPs with CIA (NP group), and 20 healthy full-term neonates raised by breastfeeding (healthy group). The fecal B&L in the 2 groups of neonates were consecutively quantified by real-time fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction on 6 different time points.

The role of radionuclide lymphoscintigraphy in chyluria.

The objective of this study was to study the characteristics of chyluria on radionuclide lymphoscintigraphy and evaluate the diagnostic value of radionuclide lymphoscintigraphy in chyluria. In this report radionuclide lymphoscintigraphy was performed in 41 cases of chyluria patients and the imaging results were retrospectively analyzed. Among 41 cases, 30 of them were caused by filariasis, 4 cases were secondary chyluria from abdomen surgery and 7 cases were caused by lymphangitis.

Preoperative evaluation improves the outcome in heart transplant recipients with pulmonary hypertension--retrospective analysis of 106 cases.

Objectives: The objectives of this study were to retrospectively analyze the value of preoperative evaluation and to analyze the risk factors of long-term mechanical ventilation in heart transplant recipients.

Methods: We analyzed the data of 106 patients prepared to receive heart transplants. Before the operation, according to the pulmonary vascular resistance (PVR) and transpulmonary gradient (TPG), the patients were divided into 2 groups: a pulmonary hypertension (PH) group and a pulmonary artery pressure normal (N) group.

[Application of digital images in quality assurance of radiotherapy].

The application of KV, MV real-time digital images and 3D reconstructed radiography in quality assurance of radiotherapy, provides effective means to verify the beam center and therapeutic range, calibrate the positioning accuracy and inspect the characteristics of radiotherapy equipment and radiation physics, greatly improves the quality and accuracy of radiotherapy.

[Research advance of treatment of peripheral nerve injury with neuromuscular electric stimulation].

Objective: To review researches of treatment of peripheral nerve injury with neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) regarding mechanism, parameters, and clinical application at home and abroad.

Methods: The latest original literature concerning treatment of peripheral nerve injury with NMES was extensively reviewed.

Results: NMES should be used under individual parameters and proper mode of stimulation at early stage of injury.

Tibial lengthening over humeral and tibial intramedullary nails in patients with sequelae of poliomyelitis: a comparative study.

Leg discrepancy is common after poliomyelitis. Tibial lengthening is an effective way to solve this problem. It is believed lengthening over a tibial intramedullary nail can provide a more comfortable lengthening process than by the conventional technique.

Use of tissue engineering in treatment of the male genitourinary tract abnormalities.

Introduction: A variety of congenital and acquired male genitourinary tract abnormalities can lead to organ damage or tissue loss that requires surgical reconstruction. Traditional reconstructive methods do not produce consistent satisfactory structural or functional replacement and may damage the genitourinary tract. Tissue engineering provides a promising alternative for the treatment of these disorders.

[Clinicopathologic diagnosis of de-differentiated chondrosarcoma].

Objective: To study the clinicopathologic and radiologic features of dedifferentiated chondrosarcoma, focusing on its diagnosis and differential diagnosis.

Method: Clinical, radiological and pathologic findings of 14 cases of dedifferentiated chondrosarcoma (including biopsy and surgical specimens) were analyzed by hematoxylin and eosin stained sections and immunohistochemistry.

Results: The mean age of patients was 52 years.
