Background: In nature, animals must learn to recognize danger signals and respond immediately to threats to improve their environmental adaptation. However, excessive fear responses can lead to diseases such as post-traumatic stress disorder, wherein traumatic events result in persistent traumatic memories. Therefore, erasing pathological fear memories is a crucial topic in neuroscience for understanding the nature of memories and treating clinically relevant diseases.

Due to the small and irregular shapes of vegetable seeds, modeling them is challenging, and the imprecision of physical parameters hinders the performance of vegetable seeders, impeding simulation development. In this study, seeds of cucumber, pepper, and tomato were seen as examples. A 3D point cloud reconstruction method based on Structure-from-Motion Multi-View Stereo (SfM-MVS) was employed to accurately extract 3D models of small and irregularly shaped seeds.

Aim: This study examined how mindfulness affects voice behaviour by altering nurses' daily resource levels.
Background: Mindfulness is an essential personal resource; it can enhance the accumulation of resources and empower individuals to engage in adaptive resource regulation. This study suggests that on days when nurses' mindfulness is higher than average, they may accumulate more resources that facilitate their voice behaviour.

As the COVID-19 epidemic ends in China, it is worth exploring the growth after experiencing the trauma of the epidemic. China has been managing the epidemic for a relatively long time compared to other countries. Many scholars have researched trauma and post-traumatic growth in groups such as doctors and patients.

This study explores the influence of the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI)-enhanced learning models on student management in educational informatization management. A game-theoretic enhanced learning model is proposed to achieve this objective, incorporating resource scheduling strategies under fog computing and a student management system that integrates IoT and AI technologies. This model's performance and the student management system are then tested.

Background: High turnover rates among nurses are a global concern due to the shortage of skilled professionals and increasing demand for high-quality healthcare. This study aims to enhance understanding of organizational fit by examining the impact of Person-organization fit (P-O fit) on organizational loyalty through the mediating role of organizational support and service quality, and the moderating impact of role ambiguity.
Methods: Using a convenience sampling technique, we employed a survey methodology by developing a questionnaire.

Parents' perception of parental involvement or that of children has been found to be associated with the mental health of children. Rather than scrutinizing whether parents' perception or children's perception matters more, this study investigated whether and how parent-child perception differences (parents' perceptions minus their children's perceptions) in home-based parental involvement were related to anxiety, depression, and stress in children. We surveyed 2219 adolescents (approximately 12-14 years old) and their parents in nine middle schools in eastern China.

Ethnic minority groups usually face discrimination in the form of prejudice and stereotypes. The self-esteem and psychological well-being of ethnic minority groups are adversely impacted by the prejudice and discrimination behavior of others. The perceived discrimination unfavorably influences the attitude and behavior of ethnic minority groups, which in turn develops resistance to innovation among them.

Greater muscular strength is generally associated with superior sports performance, for example, in jumping, sprinting, and throwing. This meta-analysis aims to compare the effects of variable-resistance training (VRT) and constant-resistance training (CRT) on the maximum strength of trained and untrained subjects. PubMed, Web of Science, and Google Scholar were comprehensively searched to identify relevant studies published up to January 2022.

Ground-level ozone is the primary source of air pollution in China, particularly during the warmer months. In this study, we investigated the exposure status of ozone pollution and the temperature distribution in an air-conditioned bus in Jinan during the evening peak period based on field measurements obtained with a handheld portable particle counter and indigo disulfonate spectrophotometry. Statistical analysis showed that the passengers experienced poor air quality within the confines of the bus due to the poor air quality outside.

This study aimed to examine the association between floods and the morbidity of acute hemorrhagic conjunctivitis (AHC) in Mengshan, China. Relying on the longitudinal data, a generalized additive model (GAM) was applied to quantify the relationship between the morbidity of AHC and floods from 2005 to 2012, controlling for other meteorological variables. Years lived with disability (YLDs) and attributable YLDs were used as the measure of the burden of AHC because of the floods.

The present study aims to explore the impact of career development support on job adaptation and withdrawal intention, and the multilevel moderating role of host country environmental factors. Through the questionnaire survey, we collected 242 expatriates' data of 25 countries from China's multinational corporations. Based on the constructed multilevel analysis model, we find: (1) career development support has a significant impact on job adaptation and withdrawal intention of expatriates; (2) job adaptation plays a mediating role between career development support and withdrawal intention; and (3) host country environment plays the multilevel moderating role between career development support and job adaptation.

Given that more frequent and intensive extreme heat events have been projected based on climate change modeling, it is of significance to have a better understanding of the association between heat waves and mental illnesses. This study aimed to explore the effects of heat waves on daily hospital visits for mental illness in the summer of 2010 in Jinan, China. A symmetric bidirectional case-crossover study was firstly conducted to determine the relationship between daily hospital visits for mental illness and heat waves in Jinan in 2010.

RD-N, an aminomethylated derivative of riccardin D, is a lysosomotropic agent that can trigger lysosomal membrane permeabilization followed by cathepsin B (CTSB)-dependent apoptosis in prostate cancer (PCa) cells, but the underlying mechanisms remain unknown. Here we show that RD-N treatment drives CTSB translocation from the lysosomes to the nucleus where it promotes DNA damage by suppression of the breast cancer 1 protein (BRCA1). Inhibition of CTSB activity with its specific inhibitors, or by CTSB-targeting siRNA or CTSB with enzyme-negative domain attenuated activation of BRCA1 and DNA damage induced by RD-N.

This paper focuses on the effects of vehicle gap changes on fuel and emission performance of the simulated traffic flow in the adaptive cruise control (ACC) strategy. Firstly, the close correlation of vehicle gap changes and the host car's behaviors was explored with the measured car-following data. Secondly, the correlation between the host car's velocity and vehicle gap changes with different memory steps was also explored to develop the nth car's optimal velocity function.

In this study, passenger comfort and the air pollution status of the micro-environmental conditions in an air-conditioned bus were investigated through questionnaires, field measurements, and a numerical simulation. As a subjective analysis, passengers' perceptions of indoor environmental quality and comfort levels were determined from questionnaires. As an objective analysis, a numerical simulation was conducted using a discrete phase model to determine the diffusion and distribution of pollutants, including particulate matter with a diameter < 10 μm (PM), which were verified by experimental results.

The concentration alteration of cytosolic-free calcium ([Ca(2+) ]cyt ) is a well-known secondary messenger in plants and plays important roles during pollen grain germination and tube elongation. Here we demonstrate that CML25, a member of calmodulin-like proteins, has Ca(2+) -binding activity and plays a role in pollen grain germination, tube elongation and seed setting. CML25 transcript was abundant in mature pollen grains and pollen tubes, and its product CML25 protein was primarily directed to the cytoplasm.

It is well known in the literature that cinnamyl alcohol dehydrogenase (CAD) reduces hydroxycinnamyl aldehydes, such as coumaryl, coniferyl, and sinapyl aldehydes, to their corresponding alcohols in the presence of NADPH, and these alcohols act as the precursors of lignin biosynthesis. Here, we report the isolation of a cDNA encoding an NADP(+)-dependent CAD, designated as AaCAD, from the cDNA library using glandular secretory trichomes of Artemisia annua as the source of mRNA. A phylogenetic analysis indicated that AaCAD was clustered with AtCAD4 and AtCAD5, which were involved in monolignol biosynthesis from Arabidopsis.
