Objective: To identify key risk factors for postoperative pulmonary infections (PPIs) in lung cancer (LC), patients undergoing radical surgery and construct a multiparametric nomogram model to improve PPI risk prediction accuracy, guiding individualized interventions.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on LC patients treated at Yidu Central Hospital of Weifang from March 2020 to May 2023. Among the 1,084 LC cases reviewed, patients were divided into an infected group (n = 131) and an uninfected group (n = 953) based on infection status.

Background: Describe the accurate locations of lymph node recurrence (LNR) of Chinese patients with postoperative thoracic esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is essential for determining the need for further surveillance protocols and treatments. The authors aimed to evaluate the patterns of postoperative ESCC and its current risk stratification with LNR.
Methods: This population-based cohort study included a retrospective review of the medical records and image material of patients with ESCC who underwent LNR after radical surgery between January 2013 and September 2022, with a median follow-up time of 5.
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most common malignancy worldwide. It is well known that lipid metabolism reprogramming contributes to the tumor progression. However, the lipid metabolic alterations and potential remodeling mechanism underlying the chemoresistance of CRC remain largely unclear.

Herbal hydrogels as a new class of sustainable functional materials have attracted extensive attention. However, the development of herbal hydrogels is significantly hindered due to their poor hydrogel performances and the lack of universal preparation methods. In this study, four herbal hydrogels composed of phytochemical polyphenols and stevioside compounds are prepared through a facile heating-cooling process, where multiple hydrogen bonding interactions between two monomers provide the main driving force for gelation.

Hemoperfusion is an effective method for removing bilirubin, but clinically used hemoperfusion adsorbents have unsatisfactory adsorption capacity and kinetics. In order to obtain a safe and efficient bilirubin adsorbent, Zr-based Metal-Organic Framework (MOF) material UiO-66 with high specific surface area and aqueous medium stability was prepared and modified with varying degrees of amination to improve its adsorption capacity.

In this work, a novel and sensitive electrochemical biosensor was constructed based on a black phosphorene (BP) and nanosized zinc oxide (ZnO@BP) nanocomposite as a modifier, which was used for the immobilization of horseradish peroxidase (HRP) on a carbon ionic liquid electrode (CILE). The ZnO@BP nanocomposite was synthesized by a simple hydrothermal method with stripped black phosphorus nanoplates and ZnO. The ZnO@BP and HRP-modified electrode was developed by a casting method.

Osimertinib, a third-generation epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor (EGFR-TKI), has overcome the acquired resistance of first- and second-generation EGFR-TKIs due to the EGFR T790M mutation in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, acquired resistance to osimertinib remains a significant clinical challenge. Luteolin, a natural flavonoid from traditional Chinese medicine, has exerted antitumor effects in various tumors.

Objectives: Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a classic autoantibody-mediated disease in which pathogenic antibodies target postsynaptic membrane components, causing fluctuating skeletal muscle weakness and fatigue. Natural killer (NK) cells are heterogeneous lymphocytes that have gained increasing attention owing to their potential roles in autoimmune disorders. This study will investigate the relationship between the distinct NK cell subsets and MG pathogenesis.

Objective: Endometrial cancer is one of the most common tumors of the female reproductive system, and the existing treatment options for advanced and metastatic endometrial cancer have certain limitations. The antitumor activity of luteolin has been gradually discovered. The purpose of this study was to predict the potential of luteolin in the treatment of endometrial cancer and to provide reference for future clinical drug use.

Chinese patent medicines(CPMs) are unique therapeutic drugs in China. Establishing and improving the evaluation criteria is an important measure to promote the high-quality development of CPMs. Based on the "evaluation criteria of high-grade CPMs with quality as the core index" established by our group in 2018, the "high-quality evaluation criteria for CPMs based on whole process control" was proposed in the present study in 2022.

Interleukin-33 (IL-33) is a member of the IL-1 family of cytokines. IL-33 is associated with the expression of tissue damage or necrosis after increasing and being released into the cell, it influences the suppression of tumorigenicity 2 (ST2) receptor expression of a variety of immune cells (including mast cells and type 2 congenital lymphocytes). Furthermore, during type 2 innate immune reactions and allergic inflammation IL-33 plays a central role in immune amplification and "alarming"; thus, regulating immune responeses.

This study investigated the pathogenesis of major depressive disorder (MDD) and acute myocardial infarction (AMI) using bioinformatics. We analyzed MDD and AMI (MDD-AMI) datasets provided by the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database for genes common to MDD and AMI using GEO2R and weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA). We also performed Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment analyses, and we used Disease Ontology (DO) analysis to identify a) the pathways through which genes function and b) comorbidities.

In previous studies, although most of them analyzed the estrogen level from ovaries or the average estrogen level of a single follicle, there was no study on the ratio of estrogen increase, which was also correlated with pregnancy outcomes in the clinic. This study aimed to make timely adjustments to follow-up medication to improve clinical outcomes based on the potential value of estradiol growth rate.

Multifunctional integration is the focus of hydrogel-based flexible sensors, and formation of a dual network (DN) could shed light on the fabrication of hydrogels with multifunctionality and enhanced properties. In this study, a DN hydrogel was fabricated by the self-assembly of herbal molecule glycyrrhizic acid (GA) as the first hydrogel network and subsequent photocrosslinking of methacrylated sodium alginate (SA-MA) to form the second network. Profiting from the good compatibility between the two hydrogel networks, the obtained DN hydrogels with a homogeneous porous microstructure were endowed with remarkably enlarged stretching (114.

After excitation is stopped, long persistent phosphor materials (LPPs) can emit light for a long time. The most important feature is that it allows the separation of excitation and emission in time. Therefore, it plays a vital role in various fields such as data storage, information technology, and biomedicine.
