Background: Discriminating between cutaneous anaplastic large cell lymphoma (cALCL) and CD30-positive transformed mycosis fungoides (CD30+ TMF) is challenging, particularly when they arise in the context of pre-existing mycosis fungoides. The development of molecular diagnostic tools was hampered by the rarity of both diseases and the limited understanding of their pathogenesis.

Methods: In this study, we established a cohort comprising 25 cALCL cases and 25 CD30+ TMF cases, with transcriptomic data obtained from 31 samples.

Department of Hepatobiliary Surgery, Shandong Provincial Third Hospital, Shandong University, Jinan, Shandong, 250031, China.

Liquid biopsy has been receiving attention as an emerging detection technology in the clinical application of non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC). We quantified serum circulating free DNA (cfDNA) of syncytin-1 in 126 patients and 106 controls, analyzed the correlation of level with pathological parameters and explored diagnostic utility. The cfDNA of syncytin-1 levels in NSCLC patients were higher than healthy controls (p < 0.

Patient-Reported Outcomes in Young Adults with Myeloproliferative Neoplasms.

Acta Haematol

August 2023

Peking University People's Hospital, Peking University Institute of Hematology, National Clinical Research Center for Hematologic Disease, Beijing Key Laboratory of Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation, Beijing, China.

Introduction: Genetic landscape, disease characteristics, and clinical outcomes of young adults with myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs) were reported. However, data on patient-reported outcomes (PROs) in young adults with MPNs were rare.

Methods: We conducted a multicenter, cross-sectional study to compare the PROs in respondents with thrombocythemia (ET), polycythemia vera (PV), and myelofibrosis (MF) by age at survey, including the young group (18-40 years), middle-aged group (41-60 years), and elderly group (>60 years).

Background: In the present work, we aimed to explore the correlated factors of quality of life in patients receiving lumbar fusion for lumbar degenerative disc disease (DDD) in China.

Methods: A total of 180 patients treated with lumbar fusion were included in the present study. Their general demographic characteristics, Visual Analog Scale (VAS) scores, Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA) scores, Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire (SCSQ), Social Support Questionnaire (SSQ), and Medical Outcomes Study Short Form 36 (MOS SF-36) were collected and evaluated preoperatively and at 1 year postoperatively.

Efficacy of non-invasive photodynamic therapy for female lower reproductive tract diseases associated with HPV infection: a comprehensive meta-analysis.

Lasers Med Sci

January 2023

Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Shandong University Qilu Hospital, 107 Wenhua West Road, Lixia District, Jinan City, Shandong Province, China.

Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a proposed non-invasive, highly effective, and fertility-preserving method for the treatment of lower reproductive tract diseases in women. We aim to evaluate the effect of PDT on complete remission, recurrence, and HPV clearance in diseases of the female lower reproductive tract associated with the human papillomavirus (HPV) infection in this meta-analysis. PubMed, EMBASE, Scopus, Cochrane Library, and China National Knowledge Infrastructure databases were searched to compare PDT with other treatments for complete remission, recurrence, and HPV clearance in women with lower genital tract disease.

RNF31 represses cell progression and immune evasion via YAP/PD-L1 suppression in triple negative breast Cancer.

J Exp Clin Cancer Res

Xinxiang Key Laboratory of Tumor Migration and Invasion Precision Medicine, School of Laboratory Medicine, Xinxiang Medical University, Xinxiang, 453003, Henan Province, People's Republic of China.

Background: Recently genome-based studies revealed that the abnormality of Hippo signaling is pervasive in TNBC and played important role in cancer progression. RING finger protein 31 (RNF31) comes to RING family E3 ubiquitin ligase. Our previously published studies have revealed RNF31 is elevated in ER positive breast cancer via activating estrogen signaling and suppressing P53 pathway.

Objective: High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) followed by curettage or uterine artery embolization (UAE) followed by curettage are relatively effective methods for cesarean scar pregnancy (CSP), which can provide a high success rate and repregnancy while reducing blood loss and adverse events. Therefore, we conducted this meta-analysis to evaluate the efficacy, safety, and pregnancy outcomes of HIFU groups versus UAE groups with CSP.

Data Sources: The PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, and Wanfang databases were systematically searched to find studies that compared the therapeutic effects of HIFU groups versus UAE groups.

Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is a clinicopathological syndrome caused by the increase of pulmonary artery, and it is the most serious complication of connective tissue disease (CTD). In recent years, a lot of progress has been made in the diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of PAH. Chinese Rheumatology Association formulated this recommendation on the basis of current experience and guidelines, in order to promote early screening, early diagnosis and early intervention of CTD-PAH, as well as patient follow-up and management, to improve the prognosis of CTD-PAH patients.

HOCI Probe CPP Induces the Differentiation of Human Dermal Fibroblasts into Vascular Endothelial Cells through PHD2/HIF-1α/HEY1 Signaling Pathway.

Cells

October 2022

Shandong Provincial Key Laboratory of Animal Cells and Developmental Biology, School of Life Science, Shandong University, Qingdao 266237, China.

Human dermal fibroblasts (HDFs) have the potential to differentiate into endothelial cells (VECs). In our previous research, we reported that a hypochlorous acid (HOCl) probe CPP efficiently induced the differentiation of HDFs into VECs, however, the mechanism of differentiation was not clear. As an HOCI probe, CPP binds HOCI to modulate its effects.

Identification of a new way to induce differentiation of dermal fibroblasts into vascular endothelial cells.

Stem Cell Res Ther

October 2022

Shandong Provincial Key Laboratory of Animal Cells and Developmental Biology, School of Life Science, Shandong University, Qingdao, 266237, People's Republic of China.

Background: Human dermal fibroblasts (HDFs) have the potential to differentiate into vascular endothelial cells (VECs), but their differentiation rate is low and the mechanism involved is not clear. The small molecule pathway controls the phenotype of fibroblasts by activating cellular signaling pathways, which is a more convenient method in the differentiation strategy of HDFs into VECs.

Methods: In this study, HDFs were treated with the different doses of CPP ((E)-4-(4-(4-(7-(diethylamino)-2-oxo-2H-chromene-3-carbonyl) piperazin-1-yl) styryl)-1-methylpyridin-1-ium iodide), and the mRNA and protein levels of HDFs were detected by qPCR, Western blot, flow cytometry and immunofluorescent staining.
