Non-functioning pituitary adenomas (NFPAs) are a highly heterogeneous group and often shows invasion, but few studies have explored the invasion mechanism and biomarkers for specific subtypes. This study was designed to describe the role of HIF1α and its downstream genes in specific subtypes of NFPAs. Specimens were classified into two subtypes of NFPAs: 46 null cell adenomas (28 invasive, 18 non-invasive) and 46 oncocytomas (11 invasive, 35 non-invasive).

Liver Transplant Center, Department of General Surgery, West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Chengdu, China.
Background: Minimally invasive surgeries are increasingly central to modern medicine, particularly in liver transplantation. These techniques, which offer reduced trauma, precise operations, minimal bleeding, and swift recovery, are, however, unevenly adopted across China. Only a limited number of centers routinely perform minimally invasive donor hepatectomies, indicating a significant imbalance in the development and application of these advanced procedures.

Background And Aims: Ambiguous understanding of tumors and the tumor microenvironments (TMEs) hinders accurate diagnosis and available treatment for multifocal hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) covering intrahepatic metastasis (IM) and multicentric occurrence (MO). Here, we characterized the diverse TMEs of IM and MO identified by whole-exome sequencing (WES) at single-cell resolution.
Approach And Results: We performed parallel WES and single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) on twenty-three samples from seven patients to profile their TMEs when major results were validated by immunohistochemistry in the additional cohort.

Introduction: Humoral immunity plays a key role in the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases, and B-lymphocyte activating factor (BAFF) and a proliferation-inducing ligand (APRIL) are essential for the maintenance of B-lymphocyte reservoirs and humoral immunity. In March 2021, telitacicept, the world's first dual target three-channel biologic, was approved in China for the treatment of SLE and is currently in clinical trials exploring multiple indications for other autoimmune diseases.
Areas Covered: This article summarizes the mechanism of action, pharmacokinetics, and clinical efficacy of telitacicept for the treatment of multiple autoimmune diseases.

Background: Urothelial carcinoma is a common malignant tumor of the urinary system, with prognosis linked to pathological grade and TNM stage. Alterations in chromosomes 3, 7, and 17, along with the P16 locus on chromosome 9 (CSP3, CSP7, CSP17, and GLPp16), are associated with cancer progression and may serve as important biomarkers. This study aimed to explore the relationships between these chromosomal factors and the pathological grade and TNM stage of UCC, potentially leading to a novel diagnostic approach that enhances patient stratification and treatment planning.

Background: Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome (SFTS) is a rapidly progressive infectious disease triggered by a novel bunyavirus (SFTSV). Despite the critical role of host lipid metabolism in viral infections, research on dyslipidemia in SFTS remains limited.
Methods: This retrospective study included 433 SFTS patients, who were stratified into survival group (n = 365) and death group (n = 68) and who were treated at the Shandong Public Health Clinical Center from September 2021 to December 2023.

Acute lung injury (ALI) is an acute, diffuse inflammatory lung condition triggered by factors of severe infections, trauma, shock, burns, ischemia-reperfusion, and mechanical ventilation. It is primarily characterized by refractory hypoxemia and respiratory distress. The more severe form, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), can progress to multi-organ failure and has a high mortality rate.

Regeneration of the corticospinal tract (CST) is considered a therapeutic target to achieve improved recovery of motor function after spinal cord injury (SCI), which is an incurable CNS damage that affects millions of people. Exercise training is effective in improving multiple functions in spinal cord-injured patients. However, the effects of exercise training on axon regeneration have not been sufficiently reported.

Osteosarcoma (OS) is the most prevalent malignant bone tumor in children and adolescents worldwide. Identification of novel therapeutic targets and development of targeted drugs are one of the most feasible strategies for OS treatment. Ferroptosis, a recently discovered mode of programmed cell death, has been implicated as a potential strategy for cancer therapy.

Background: Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) is a rare disorder that was initially documented by Prader and Willi in 1956. Despite significant advancements in the understanding of PWS over recent decades, no bibliometric studies have been reported on this field. We aimed to analyze and explore the research trends and hotspots of PWS using a bibliometric analysis to understand the future development of basic and clinical research.

Background: Rare endocrine diseases (RED) often pose chronic and life-threatening challenges, yet their economic costs and societal impact remains have not been precisely quantified.
Methods: We obtained patient data from the 2018 Nationwide Inpatient Sample (NIS) and the Nationwide Readmissions Database (NRD), identifying RED patients through International Classification of Diseases, 10th revision codes. The difference of economic burden between RED patients and the control group, including hospital length of stay, hospitalisation costs, and readmission rates, was assessed using chi-square tests.

Downregulated in Metastasis Protein (DRIM) was discovered in malignant epithelial cells and was thought to be mainly a nucleus protein affecting cancer cells. Recent single-cell sequencing analysis suggests that DRIM is abundantly expressed in vascular endothelial cells. There has been no knowledge of the role of DRIM in the endothelium.
