The present study aimed to evaluate the clinical significance of color Doppler sonography (CDS) in the diagnosis of spontaneous isolated superior mesenteric artery dissection (SISMAD). The ultrasonographic images of 19 patients with SISMAD confirmed by computed tomography angiography (CTA) were retrospectively analyzed and the ultrasonographic features were summarized. The paired t-test was used to statistically analyze the differences in parameters determined by CTA vs.

MicroRNA-141 and MicroRNA-200c Are Overexpressed in Granulosa Cells of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Patients.

Front Med (Lausanne)

October 2018

Center for Reproductive Medicine, National Research Center for Assisted Reproductive Technology and Reproductive Genetics, Shandong University, Jinan, China.

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is one of the most common endocrine disorders in reproductive-aged women, affecting 6-8% of women and characterized by hyperandrogenism, ovulatory dysfunction, and polycystic ovarian morphology. Accumulating evidence demonstrates that different microRNAs (miRNAs) expressions may contribute to the pathogenesis of PCOS. Therefore, the goal of this study is to compare the expression levels of miR-141 and miR-200c in granulosa cells isolated from PCOS patients and also evaluate their predictive values for pregnancy complications.

Oxidative stress is considered to be part of the pathogenic mechanism for community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) and is closely linked to inflammation. Attenuation of oxidative stress would be expected to reduce pulmonary damage. Antioxidants have been found to be effective in alleviating lung injury and protecting against damage of other organs.

The value of the air bronchogram sign on CT image in the identification of different solitary pulmonary consolidation lesions.

Medicine (Baltimore)

August 2018

Shandong Medical Imaging Research Institute Affiliated to Shandong University Department of Medical Imaging, Shandong Provincial Chest Hospital Department of Medical Affairs, Shandong Provincial Qianfoshan Hospital, Jinan, China.

The aim of the present study is to investigate the value of air bronchogram sign on computed tomography (CT) image in the differential diagnosis of solitary pulmonary consolidation lesions (SPLs).A total of 105 patients (including 39 cases of lung cancer, 43 cases of tuberculosis, and 23 cases of pneumonia) with SPLs were evaluated for the CT features of air bronchogram sign in this retrospective study. The shape and lumen of the bronchi with air bronchogram sign, the length of the involved bronchus with air bronchogram sign, the length of lesion on the same plane and direction, and the ratio between the length of the involved bronchus and that of the lesion were evaluated.

Although surgical resection with curative intent is the main therapy for both primary and metastatic lung tumors, about 80% of lung cancers cannot be removed by surgery. Because most patients with unresectable lung cancer only receive limited benefits from traditional radiotherapy and chemotherapy, many novel local treatment modalities have emerged including local ablation therapy. The Minimally Invasive Treatment of Lung Cancer Branch, Professional Committee of Minimally Invasive Treatment of Cancer of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association and Committee on Tumor Ablations, Chinese College of Interventionalists have organized multidisciplinary experts to develop guidelines for this treatment modality.

Introduction: Subcortical vascular mild cognitive impairment (svMCI) is the predementia stage of subcortical vascular dementia (SVaD). The aim of this research is to explore and compare cerebral gray matter (GM) volume reduction in svMCI patients and SVaD patients, and to investigate the relationship between cerebral GM volume reduction and cognitive deficits.

Methods: Thirty one svMCI patients, 29 SVaD patients, and 31 healthy controls were recruited in our research.

Background: Rhabdoid meningioma (RM) is an unusual variant of meningioma, classified as World Health Organization grade III. Although its recurrence is common, extracranial metastasis is rare and usually misdiagnosed. The transfer mechanism and pathway are ambiguous; once the metastasis occurs, the prognosis is poor, and there is no effective management.

Objective: The aim of our study was to analyze the related factors of asymmetrical cortical vein sign (ACVS) and asymmetrical medullary vein sign (AMVS) on susceptibility-weighted imaging (SWI) in patients with acute middle cerebral artery (MCA) stroke and whether their presence can be used as an independent predictor for clinical outcome.

Methods: According to the presence of ACVS and AMVS on SWI, 124 patients with acute MCA stroke within 3 days were divided into several different groups. In addition, those patients were also divided into good and poor outcome group by using the modified Rankin Scale at 3 months after stroke.

The impact of dual-source parallel radiofrequency transmission with patient-adaptive shimming on the cardiac magnetic resonance in children at 3.0 T.

Medicine (Baltimore)

June 2017

Department of Radiology, Shandong Provincial Hospital affiliated to Shandong University Departments of Pharmacy, Jinan Central Hospital, Shandong University Shandong Medical Imaging Research Institute affiliated to Shandong University Department of Radiology, Qilu Hospital of Shandong University Department of Internal Medicine, Shandong Provincial Qianfoshan Hospital MR Research Collaboration, Philips Healthcare, Shanghai, China.

The cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) of children at 3.0 T presents a unique set of technical challenges because of their small cardiac anatomical structures, fast heart rates, and the limited ability to keep motionless and hold breathe, which could cause problems associated with field inhomogeneity and degrade the image quality. The aim of our study was to evaluate the effect of dual-source parallel radiofrequency (RF) transmission on the B1 homogeneity and image quality in children with CMR at 3.

Tumors arising from or secondarily involving the vena cava (VC) are broad-spectrum diseases, ranging from benign to malignant. The benign tumors include myxoma, leiomyomatosis and leiomyoma. The primary malignant tumors of the VC are rare, and of these rare entities, leiomyosarcoma is the most frequently encountered.

Background: Fulminant myocarditis (FM) is an inflammatory disease of the myocardium that results in ventricular systolic dysfunction and causes acute-onset heart failure. Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) has become the primary noninvasive tool for the diagnosis and evaluation of myocarditis. The aim of our study was to assess the CMR findings at different course of FM and the short-term outcomes of fulminant myocarditis (FM) in children.

Parkinson's disease (PD) is characterized by the loss of neuromelanin (NM)-containing neurons in the substantia nigra pars compacta (SNc), and it is divided into two motor subtypes: the postural instability gait difficulty (PIGD) and the tremor dominant (TD) subtypes. With NM-sensitive Magnetic Resonance Imaging (NM-MRI), investigators have been able to accurately detect signal attenuation in SNc of PD; however, the difference of NM loss between PIGD and TD subtypes is still unclear. Thus, the aim of this study was to evaluate the differences in NM-MRI between PD motor subtypes.
