Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) cell immunotherapies, including CAR-T, CAR-Macrophages, CAR-Natural Killer, CAR-γδ T, etc., have demonstrated significant advancements in the treatment of both hematologic malignancies and solid tumors. Despite the notable successes of traditional CAR cell manufacturing, its application remains constrained by the complicated production process and expensive costs.

Although molecular and culture-independent studies revealed RA patients harbored a core microbiome and had characteristic bacterial species, the lack of cultured bacterial strains had limited investigations on their functions. This study aimed to establish an RA-originated gut microbial biobank (RAGMB) that covers and further to correlates and validates core microbial species on clinically used and diagnostic inflammation and immune indices.

Transition-metal-catalyzed hydroarylation of unactivated alkenes metal hydride hydrogen atom transfer (MHAT) is an attractive approach for the construction of C(sp)-C(sp) bonds. However, this kind of reaction focuses mainly on using reductive hydrosilane as a hydrogen donor. Here, a novel photoinduced Co/Ni-cocatalyzed Markovnikov hydroarylation of unactivated alkenes with aryl bromides using protons as a hydrogen source has been developed.

Introduction: We sought to characterize cognitive profiles associated with enlarged perivascular spaces (EPVS) among Chinese older adults.
Methods: This population-based study included 1191 dementia-free participants (age ≥60 years) in the MIND-China MRI Substudy (2018-2020). We visually evaluated EPVS in basal ganglia (BG) and centrum semiovale (CSO), white matter hyperintensities (WMHs), lacunes, cerebral microbleeds (CMBs), and cortical superficial siderosis.
Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the effect of acoustic vibration on the pluripotency of human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) and evaluate cell proliferation and self-renewal ability post-treatment.
Methods: The human ES cell line H1 was used for the experiments. hESCs were treated with an acoustic vibration device.

A palladium-catalyzed asymmetric [4 + 3] cycloaddition of the methylene-trimethylenemethane donor with an azadiene has been developed, affording benzofuro[3,2-]azepine-derived exocyclic chiral allene with control of axial and point chirality. The target compounds were generated in good to excellent yields and with high diastereoselectivities and enantioselectivities (up to >20 : 1 dr, 99% ee). Furthermore, this cycloaddition reaction could be efficiently scaled-up and several synthetic transformations were accomplished for the construction of useful chiral allenol and chiral spirocyclic derivatives.

However, it remains unclear whether cuproptosis signaling also has potential impacts on tumor initiation and prognosis of gastric cancer (GC). In this study, 16 cuproptosis-related genes (CRGs) transcriptional profiles were harnessed to perform the regularized latent variable model-based clustering in GC.

3D graphene porous materials (3GPM), which have low density, large porosity, excellent compressibility, high conductivity, hold huge promise for a wide range of applications. Nevertheless, most 3GPM have brittle and weak network structures, which limits their widespread use. Therefore, the preparation of a robust and elastic graphene porous network is critical for the functionalization of 3GPM.

But due to the innate complexity of O-glycosylation, research techniques have been limited to study its exact role in viral attachment and entry, assembly and exit, spreading in the host cells, and the innate and adaptive immunity of the host. Recently, the advent of many newly developed methodologies (e.

In the search for pharmaceutically active compounds from natural products, it is crucial and challenging to develop separation methods that target not only structurally similar compounds but also a class of compounds with desired pharmaceutical functions. To achieve both structure-oriented and function-oriented selectivity, the choice of functional monomers with broad interactions or even biomimetic roles towards targeted compounds is essential. In this work, an imidazole (IM)-functionalized paper membrane was synthesized to realize selectivity.

Nanovaccines have emerged as promising agents for cancer therapy because of their ability to induce specific immune responses without off-target effects. However, inadequate cytotoxic T lymphocyte response and low antigen/adjuvant encapsulation remain major obstacles to vaccinating against cancer. Herein, we designed a stimulator of interferon genes (STING) pathway-activating nanovaccine based on hollow metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) for tumor treatment.

In this study, we compared the advantages and disadvantages of using GA and local anesthesia for STN-DBS in enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS).
Methods: Surgical outcomes of STN-DBS were evaluated using the unified PD rating scales (UPDRS).

Neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NCT) has significantly improved the overall survival of patients with operable non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Chemotherapy can remodel the tumor immune microenvironment (TIME) and has an important influence on antitumor immunity. For patients who underwent surgery for resected NSCLC following NCT (NCT-NSCLC), a prognostic value comparison between naïve and post-chemotherapy TIME is absent.

Polyoxometalates (POMs), as emerging inorganic metal oxides, have been shown to have significant biological activity and great medicinal value. Nowadays, biologically active POM-based organic-inorganic hybrid materials have become the next generation of antibacterial and anticancer drugs because of their customizable molecular structures related to their highly enhanced antitumor activity and reduced toxicity to healthy cells. In this review, the current developed strategies with POM-based materials for the purpose of antibacterial and anticancer activities from different action principles inducing cell death and hyperpolarization, cell plasma membrane destruction, interference with bacterial respiratory chain and inhibiting bacterial growth are overviewed.

Small-cell lung cancer (SCLC) accounts for 15%-20% of primary lung cancers, and it is characterized by low differentiation, rapid proliferation, and early metastasis. At least two-thirds of SCLC patients present with the extensive stage (ES) at the time of initial clinical diagnosis. Over the last 2 decades, platinum-based combination chemotherapy has remained the standard first-line treatment for SCLC.
