Chronic pain is commonly recognized as a distressing symptom or a standalone disease, with over half of those affected experiencing cognitive impairment, which significantly impacts their quality of life. Despite a recent surge in literature on cognitive impairment associated with chronic pain, a comprehensive bibliometric analysis in this field has yet to be conducted. In this study, we performed a bibliometric analysis on this topic.

Esophageal cancer (EC), the fifth most common cause of cancer-related mortality in China, poses a significant threat to public health. Among the pathological types, esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) is predominant, comprising approximately 90 % of cases. Screening is crucial for early detection, diagnosis and treatment, thereby reducing ESCC mortality.

Introduction: The mitogen-activated protein kinase interacting kinases (MNKs) modulate protein translation through the phosphorylation of eukaryotic initiation factor 4E (eIF4E) at serine 209, which is crucial for tumorigenesis but dispensable for normal development. MNKs are implicated in various pathological processes, including inflammation, obesity, cancer, etc. Thus, MNKs are considered as potential drug targets and the development of potent and selective MNK inhibitors is a current research focus.

In the treatment of glioma, which is one of the malignant tumors, although chemotherapy is used as the most common treatment method, it often suffers from low bioavailability. Therefore, improving the precision and efficiency of drugs is crucial in treating gliomas and a great challenge. Here, an advanced drug delivery system is reported for gliomas (CZQD@HA@DOX), which aggregates multiple features such as the susceptible imaging tracer property due to the use of CZQD and the targeting of HA to the receptor cluster 44 (CD44) of glioma cells, which provides the system with the functions of targeted enrichment and precise drug delivery at the tumor site.

Background: The NOD-like receptor protein (NLRP)3 inflammasome is at the signaling hub center to instigate inflammation in response to pathogen infection or oxidative stress, and its tight control is pivotal for immune defense against infection while avoiding parallel intensive inflammatory tissue injury. Acetylation of NLRP3 is critical for the full activation of NLRP3 inflammasome, while the precise regulation of the acetylation and deacetylation circuit of NLRP3 protein remained to be fully understood.
Methods: The interaction between histone deacetylase 10 (HDAC10) and NLRP3 was detected by immunoprecipitation and western blot in the HDAC10 and NLRP3 overexpressing cells.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common disease in aging joints and has characteristics of cartilage destruction and inflammation. It is currently considered a metabolic disease, and the CH25H-CYP7B1-RORα axis of cholesterol metabolism in chondrocytes plays a crucial catabolic regulatory role in its pathogenesis. Targeting of this axis in chondrocytes may provide a therapeutic approach for OA treatment.

Methotrexate (MTX) is a widely used antimetabolite drug, mainly used in the treatment of a variety of cancer. Given the low therapeutic index and significant individual variability of MTX, it was critical to perform therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) to minimize the side effects. Here, we designed a rapid and sensitive fluorescence/colorimetric assay for the detection of MTX in diluted human serum.

Pyrethroids are synthetic products derived from natural pyrethroids present in flowers and are extensively used as pesticides for agriculture, animal husbandry, and household pest control. However, excessive and prolonged usage of pyrethroid insecticides can result in adverse effects on both non-target and target species. Therefore, effective technologies need to be developed to remove pyrethroid contamination and ensure environmental safety.

Synapse has been considered a critical neuronal structure in the procession of Alzheimer's disease (AD), attacked by two pathological molecule aggregates (amyloid-β and phosphorylated tau) in the brain, disturbing synaptic homeostasis before disease manifestation and subsequently causing synaptic degeneration. Recently, evidence has emerged indicating that soluble oligomeric amyloid-β (AβO) and tau exert direct toxicity on synapses, causing synaptic damage. Synaptic degeneration is closely linked to cognitive decline in AD, even in the asymptomatic stages of AD.
