Until now, mass spectrometry databases lack molecular information of most organosilicon oligomers, and risk models needing accurate molecular descriptors are unavailable for these emerging contaminants with thousands of monomers. To address this issue, based on molecular/fragment ions and relative abundance from GC-Orbitrap-MS, this study developed appropriate classification (accuracies = 0.750-0.

Here we covalently constructed abundant long-chain hydroxyl groups-functionalized magnetic microporous organic networks (MMON-2OH) for detection of eight Triazine herbicides (THs) in honey and water samples. MMON-2OH owned a high surface area (287.86 m²/g), enhanced water compatibility, and increased exposure of long-chain hydroxyl groups, which significantly improved enrichment capacity for THs.

Metal-containing nanoparticles (MNPs) ubiquitously exist in the environment and organisms, playing distinct roles in the fate and toxicity of metals. However, the extraction and analysis of the MNPs in biological samples is still a great challenge and the interferences of other metal species and complex matrices remains unclear. In this work, we established a method for efficient extraction and accurate analysis of MNPs in biological samples to eliminate the interference caused by metal ions and biological matrices based on the alkali extraction and single particle mode inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (SP-ICP-MS).

Ferroptosis, as an iron-dependent cell death mediated by lipid peroxidation, has sparked great interest in the tumor research community. Targeting ferroptosis has been proven to be a new therapeutic opportunity for inhibiting tumor growth. However, it is challenging to precisely characterize the metabolic pattern of ferroptosis in heterogeneous tumors and further identify ferroptosis-associated metabolic vulnerabilities for tumor treatment.

Gastrodiae Rhizoma (GE), a popular food in China, is stored and consumed after steaming, which can lead to the degradation of active substances and a decrease in its quality. Therefore, this study explored the potential application of ultra-high-pressure (UHP)-assisted hot air drying in improving the quality of GE. The results indicated that UHP pre-treatment could preserve the original cross-sectional color of GE and increase the degrees of freedom of water in GE samples.

Signal transducer and activator of transcription 4 (STAT4) is a member of the STAT family, which is a group of transcription factors that regulate cytokine signaling. Genetic polymorphisms in STAT4 strongly influence immune responses and disease outcomes, especially in cancer and autoimmune diseases. Several studies have indicated that certain STAT4 gene variants are associated with alterations in STAT4 expression and/or activity and that there is a close relationship between STAT4 polymorphisms and drug efficacy.

Through synthetic chemistry, the development of molecular devices for the precise selective recognition and active transport of small molecules stands as one of the most ambitious objectives in extensive medical, environmental, and biological applications. The periodical channels of the metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) with excellent chemical affinity offer vast regulatory space for reaching this goal. Herein, by post-modifying fluorescent probes and ionic liquid molecules into the Zr-MOFs (NU-1000), a donor-acceptor (D-A) system within the periodical 1D channels is created to construct a hydrodynamic fluidic pump within the abundant 1D channels.

Cardiorenal fibrosis is a common feature of chronic cardiovascular disease and recent data suggests that cytokines and chemokines may also drive fibrosis. Here we tested the hypothesis that CXCR7, a highly conserved chemokine receptor, contributes to cardiac and renal fibrosis. We generated an anti-mouse CXCR7-specific monoclonal antibody (CXCR7 mAb) and tested its anti-fibrotic actions in cardiorenal fibrosis induced using the deoxycorticosterone acetate/uni-nephrectomy (DOCA-UNX) model.

Occurrences of mycotoxins in cereals are widespread throughout the world. However, the lack of efficient and ultrasensitive tests has largely impeded the identification of these substances in actual samples. Herein, a novel one-pot isothermal assay that integrates rolling-circle amplification (RCA) and CRISPR/Cas12a to detect aflatoxin B (AFB) is reported.

Hyperuricemia (HUA) is a common metabolic disorder that often accompanies kidney diseases such as tubule damage and renal interstitial fibrosis. The preventive and therapeutic effects of Dioscorea septemloba, an anti-HUA herb, polysaccharide of which was considered as the main active ingredient on HUA, need to be explored. The major polysaccharide component, BXP, was purified from Dioscorea septemloba, with an average molecular weight of 10.

Herein, we report a novel and practical strategy for alkyl sulfonium salts mediating radical thiocyanohydroxylation of alkenes. This reaction features metal-free and mild conditions, generation of noncarbon radicals from the readily available alkyl sulfonium salts, easy handling, and excellent functional group compatibility. A diverse range of activated and unactivated alkenes worked well to deliver various β-thiocyanato alcohols.

Unlabelled: Background: Accumulating research suggests that metabolites produced by gut microbiota are essential for maintaining a balanced gut and immune system. Indole-3-acetic acid (IAA), one of tryptophan metabolites from gut microbiota, is critical for gut health through mechanisms such as activating aryl hydrocarbon receptor. Delivery of IAA to colon is beneficial for treatment of gastrointestinal diseases, and one promising strategy is IAA esterified starch, which is digested by gut microbes in colon and releases loaded IAA.

Risk level of benzidine residue to the environment and food safety urges surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) substrates to develop with high sensitivity and rapid enrichment. Herein, a hybrid of Au NPs decorated crystalline carbon nitride nano-walls (Au/CCN NWs) is fabricated on Al sheet and employed as a SERS substrate for the first time. An electro-enhanced adsorption strategy is employed to endow as-prepared Au/CCN NWs/Al chip with rapid assay capability.
