Study Design: A retrospective cohort study of 240 patients treated for sialolithiasis between 2015 and 2018, focusing on 57 cases of SMG stones that underwent stone removal procedures. Treatment methods, success rates, and complications were analyzed using Kaplan-Meier analysis, Cox proportional hazards regression, and multiple logistic regression.

Effects of Different Crystallization Protocols on Marginal Gap of Lithium Disilicate Single Crowns: SEM Analysis.

In everyday dentistry, lithium disilicate is a valid option for single-fix partial dentures, and this material crystallization process is available with two protocols: long and short. This study's aim was to assess the effects of these two different crystallization protocols, long and short, on the marginal gap of lithium disilicate single crowns. A total of 24 abutment plastic teeth were scanned using an intra-oral scanner.

Background: Epilepsy-related emergency hospitalizations are associated with risks to patients. Neurologist ambulatory care can improve seizure control and decrease the rates of ED visits and emergency hospitalizations.

Aims: To evaluate the etiologies for emergency epilepsy-related admissions in patients with and without prior epilepsy clinic follow-up, and to identify possible factors that may influence admission rates.

The association of prenatal volatile organic compounds exposure and newborn anthropometrics: A cross-sectional study.

Background: Several studies have associated prenatal exposure to volatile organic compounds (VOCs) with adverse health outcomes among newborns. However, little is known about the associations of VOCs at relatively low concentrations with newborn outcomes. Hence, this study aimed to investigate the potential associations between prenatal exposure to VOCs and VOC mixtures with newborn anthropometric measures.

Bone Mineral Density Screening in People With Epilepsy and Intellectual Disability.

Vitamin D measurements and dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) scans are recommended in people with intellectual disability and/or epilepsy in order to prevent bone-linked harm. The prevalence of vitamin D supplementation and bone mineral density screening were evaluated in 68 people with epilepsy and intellectual disability (EID) and 68 matched controls with epilepsy without intellectual disability. DXA scans were not performed in any of the people with EID but were performed in 11.

Adult patients who previously failed HRM were prospectively enrolled.

Automated Analysis of Stereotypical Movements in Videos of Children With Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Importance: Stereotypical motor movements (SMMs) are a form of restricted and repetitive behavior, which is a core symptom of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Current quantification of SMM severity is extremely limited, with studies relying on coarse and subjective caregiver reports or laborious manual annotation of short video recordings.

Objective: To assess the utility of a new open-source AI algorithm that can analyze extensive video recordings of children and automatically identify segments with heterogeneous SMMs, thereby enabling their direct and objective quantification.

Primary treatment gap among adults with epilepsy: A cross-sectional analysis.

Objective: Despite recommendations to initiate antiseizure medication treatment once the diagnosis of epilepsy is confirmed, a certain proportion of patients with epilepsy who should receive antiseizure medication treatment remain untreated. We aimed to evaluate the rate of and the reasons for the treatment gap in patients with epilepsy who were referred to their first visit in our epilepsy clinic.

Methods: We retrospectively reviewed the computerized database and the medical records of all the patients with epilepsy who had their first visit in our outpatient epilepsy clinic during a 10-year period (2012-2021).

A Structured Social Media Health Support Program after Bariatric Surgery.

Background:  Social media networks have been found to provide emotional, instrumental, and social support, which may contribute to improved adherence to postbariatric surgery care recommendations.

Objectives:  This study aimed to evaluate the impact of an online social media-based, health care professional-led, educational and support program on patients' long-term engagement with and adherence to follow-up guidelines, self-care recommendations, and weight management after bariatric surgery.

Methods:  An observational cohort study, employing mixed methods, accompanied a 12-week interactive, structured, social media psychoeducational intervention program delivered on Facebook.

Association between prenatal phthalate exposure and ano-genital indices among offsprings in an Israeli cohort.

Background: In-utero phthalate exposure was shown to be associated with shortened anogenital distance (AGD) in male newborns, but findings among female are inconsistent. While phthalate exposure among pregnant women in Israel is widespread, no study has examined the association with offspring AGD. The objective of the current study was to investigate the association between maternal phthalates urinary concentration and offspring AGD at time of delivery among a birth cohort in Israel.
