Background: Bioinformatics analysis of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) expression profiles can aid in understanding its molecular mechanisms and identifying new targets for diagnosis and treatment.
Aim: In this study, we analyzed expression profile datasets and miRNA expression profiles related to HCC from the GEO using R software to detect differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and differentially expressed miRNAs (DEmiRs).
Methods And Results: Common DEGs were identified, and a PPI network was constructed using the STRING database and Cytoscape software to identify hub genes.

Materials And Methods: This study was performed on 78 children of 78 MS patients from Shahrekord Support Association of MS patients including around 1800 patient members in 2018 using a quasi-experimental method.

In the present study, the mechanisms involved in scopolamine-induced memory impairment have been investigated. The molecular events that take place during memory mostly include mechanisms that are seen in the acquisition phase. Results showed that one of the mechanisms of memory destruction caused by scopolamine, in addition to weakening the cholinergic system, is the indirect effect of scopolamine on other neurotransmitter systems, including the glutamatergic system.

This study aimed to screen native methionine gamma-lyase (L-methioninase) producing bacteria from soil samples and optimize the culture media for enhanced enzyme production using statistical design. Three bacteria, were identified as novel L-methioninase producers, which alternative source of L-methioninase for cancer treatment could be utilized alongside other therapeutic agents. The bacteria were isolated from various garden soils and cultured on a modified M9 medium and screened by Nessler reagent.

As a fast and efficient process, a periodate (PI)-based advanced oxidation process was used to degrade direct red 89 (DR89), wherein hydrogen peroxide (HO) was employed to activate PI (HO/PI process) to investigate the effect of operating parameters and mixture composition. The PI was efficiently activated by HO to degrade 67% of DR89 within 1 min. Acidic pH was more favorable to high-efficiency degradation than the basic pH; at pH 3 degradation rate was 94.

Background: Biventricular dysfunction is frequent in patients with repaired tetralogy of Fallot, necessitating routine imaging to monitor for worsening conditions and determine whether procedures like pulmonary valve replacement (PVR) are needed. This study aimed to highlight the parameters of cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (CMR) and their association with adverse outcomes in the midterm follow-up of these patients.
Methods: This longitudinal study recruited all patients with a history of tetralogy of Fallot total correction (TFTC) who had two CMR images at a minimum three-month interval at Rajaie Center from 2007 through 2017.

Background: In this study, we investigate the impact of a multi-targeted therapeutic approach that includes camptothecin (CPT), a potent chemotherapeutic topoisomerase inhibitor; metformin (Met), a metabolic modulator with emerging anti-tumor effects; and GW280264X, an inhibitor of ADAM 10/ADAM 17 enzymes, which are associated with tumor invasion and immune response. The study aims to assess the combined effects of these agents in enhancing CD8 T cell-mediated anti-tumor immunity and suppressing cancer cell growth in triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) models, both in vitro and in vivo.
Methods: Cell viability was performed on the 4 T1 human TNBC cell line.

Spinal cord injury (SCI) poses significant challenges to regenerative medicine due to its limited self-repair capabilities. In this study, we engineered a biomimetic injectable hydrogel using modified chitosan and alginate biopolymers encapsulating selenium-folic acid nanoparticles (Se-FA NPs) to facilitate SCI regeneration. The hydrogel exhibited a unique porous structure attributed to the incorporation of nanofiber fragments, enhancing its biocompatibility and bioactivity.
