The simultaneous administration of multiple drugs within identical nanocarriers to cancer cells or tissues can result in the effective action of drugs at reduced concentrations. In this investigation, PAMAM dendrimers (G4-PAMAM) were employed to link with methotrexate (MTX) using DCC/NHS chemistry and followed by the entrapment of curcumin (Cur) within it. The establishment of covalent bonds between MTX and the PAMAM dendrimer led to PAMAM-MTX interaction, verified and described through FT-IR.

The impact of atmospheric cold plasma (ACP) treatment (at 50 and 60 kV for 5 and 10 min) on nutritional (total phenolic and flavonoids contents, antioxidant capacity, and TBARs) and antinutritional (saponin and phytic acid) characteristics of quinoa grains has been investigated at this study. Results indicated that ACP treatment is significantly effective to reduce the antinutritional compounds compared with the control sample ( ≤ 0.05), among which S (i.

Introduction: An uncommon and diverse class of cancers originating from mesenchymal tissues is designated as soft tissue sarcoma (STS). To develop effective preventive and treatment strategies for STS, it is essential to gain a deeper understanding of the epidemiological trends associated with the disease. This research will analyze the 4-year age-standardized incidence rate (ASIR) and geographical distribution of STS in Iran in great detail.

Objective: Coronary artery disease (CAD) remains a significant global health burden, characterized by the narrowing or blockage of coronary arteries. Treatment decisions are often guided by angiography-based scoring systems, such as the Synergy Between Percutaneous Coronary Intervention with Taxus and Cardiac Surgery (SYNTAX) and Gensini scores, although these require invasive procedures. This study explores the potential of electrocardiography (ECG) as a noninvasive diagnostic tool for predicting CAD severity, alongside traditional risk factors.

Context: Although some evidence shows the beneficial effects of meal replacements (MRs) on glucose metabolism as one of the main factors of diabetes, there are still no comprehensive findings in this field.
Objective: We investigated the effects of total and partial MRs on fasting blood sugar (FBS), insulin, glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), and homeostatic model assessment for insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) in this comprehensive study and meta-analysis.
Data Sources: To find pertinent randomized controlled trials (RCTs) up to March 2024, databases including PubMed/Medline, Web of Science, Scopus, and Embase were searched.

Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have several important properties that make them desirable for regenerative medicine. These properties include immunomodulatory ability, growth factor production, and differentiation into various cell types. Despite extensive research and promising results in clinical trials, our understanding of MSC biology, their mechanism of action, and their targeted and routine use in clinics is limited.

Creating fast, non-invasive, precise, and specific diagnostic tests is crucial for enhancing cancer treatment outcomes. Among diagnostic methods, those relying on nucleic acid detection are highly sensitive and specific. Recent developments in diagnostic technologies, particularly those leveraging Clustered Regularly Interspaced Short Palindromic Repeats (CRISPR), are revolutionizing cancer detection, providing accurate and timely results.

Background: The role of 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin-D3 (VitD) and sirtuin-1 (SIRT1) in mitigating pathological cardiac remodeling is well recognized. However, the potential for SIRT1 to mediate the inhibitory effects of VitD on angiotensin II (Ang II) -induced hypertrophy in H9c2 cardiomyoblasts remains unclear.
Methods: H9c2 cardiomyoblasts were exposed to Ang II or a combination of VitD and Ang II, both in the absence and presence of SIRT1-specific siRNA.
