Unlabelled: ackground and aims: Congenital heart disease (CHD) is described as an abnormality in the heart structure or intra-thoracic great vessels that leads to functional problems. Since most of these disorders require medical and surgical interventions identifying concomitant disorders such as renal and urinary tract abnormalities is of great importance in the management of these patients. The present study aimed to investigate the relative frequency of abnormal kidney and urinary tract findings in abdominal cineangiography during cardiac catheterization of patients with CHD in Shahid Modarres Cardiovascular Medical and Research Center.

Purposes: Recognizing which patients admitted postsurgically to the intensive care unit (ICU) are at greater risk of mortality assists medical staff to identify who will benefit most from the care. We developed a prediction model for the 1-month mortality of postsurgical ICU patients.
Methods: From May, 2019 to May, 2020, we conducted a prospective cohort study in the postsurgical ICU of a teaching hospital affiliated with our University of Medical Sciences.

Vitamin D attenuates inflammatory responses to viral respiratory infections. Hence, vitamin D deficiency may be a highly significant prognostic factor for severity and mortality in COVID-19 patients. To evaluate the complications and mortality in different vitamin D status groups in COVID-19 hospitalized patients, we conducted this retrospective study on 646 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 patients who were hospitalized in Shahid Modarres Hospital, Tehran, Iran from 16th March 2020 until 25th February 2021.

We compared the prognosis of inpatients with a known diagnosis of Alzheimer's or Parkinson's disease who have COVID-19 infection with other hospitalized patients with COVID-19. Our cohort study started in October 2020 and ended in May 2021 and included inpatients with COVID-19 infection who were admitted to hospitals. From a total of 67,871 patients with a confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19, a sample of 3732 individuals were selected of which 363 had Alzheimer's, and 259 had Parkinson's disease.

The goal of this study was to evaluate LV recovery after STEMI intervention based on GLS values.
Methods: The study population consists of 43 patients with acute STEMI and no history of prior coronary intervention treated with primary percutaneous coronary intervention.

Cardiopulmonary bypass and aortic clamping evokes the obligatory global myocardial ischemia and dysfunction with a significant inflammatory response. The discrepancy about cardioprotective effects of erythropoietin still exist. The aim of this study was to assess the clinical immunomodulatory effects of Erythropoietin (EPO) on serum inflammatory biomarkers (YKL-40, IL-6) and cardiac biomarkers, (pro-BNP, CK-MB and troponin).

Public transport has been identified as high risk as the corona-virus carrying droplets generated by the infected passengers could be distributed to other passengers. Therefore, predicting the patterns of droplet spreading in public transport environment is of primary importance. This paper puts forward a novel computational and artificial intelligence (AI) framework for fast prediction of the spread of droplets produced by a sneezing passenger in a bus.

The consumption of exogenous antioxidants isolated from herbal extracts has shown beneficial effects on ameliorating dialysis-related complications through debilitating oxidative stress and inflammatory process. Many clinical studies available in public databases have reported the improved consequences of dialysis in patients supplemented with herbal antioxidants. Exploration of such data offers great possibilities for gaining insights into the potential mechanisms and medical implications of herbal antioxidants.
