Objectives: The study investigates the association of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) in resistin gene (RETN) with resistin level, insulin resistance, and the risk of type 2 diabetes in an early diagnosed type 2 diabetic population of Iran.
Methods: The total of 80 healthy subjects and 80 individuals diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. To ascertain the genotypes of rs1862513 and rs3745367, we performed the polymerase chain reaction with restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) technique.
Reports of sex and age differences in the presentation of borderline symptoms have been limited to the Western literature and have not systematically compared adolescents with emerging and older adults with borderline personality disorder (BPD). This study aimed to examine the impact of age and sex on the expression of borderline symptoms in adolescents, young adults, and older adults with BPD. A sample of 493 Iranian individuals with a confirmed diagnosis of BPD was segregated into 2 age groups: 134 young people aged 12-25 (mean = 17.

Background: Regenerative endodontics requires an innovative delivery system to release antibiotics/growth factors in a sequential trend. This study focuses on developing/characterizing a thermoresponsive core-shell hydrogel designed for targeted drug delivery in endodontics.
Methods: The core-shell chitosan-alginate microparticles were prepared by electrospraying to deliver bone morphogenic protein-2 for 14 days and transforming growth factor-beta 1 (TGF-β1) for 7-14 days.

Coagulation disorder is common among COVID-19 patients, particularly those afflicted with the severe form of the disease. Manifestations of thrombotic complications such as pulmonary embolism, deep vein thrombosis (DVT), ischemic stroke, cardiac infarction and arterial embolism is high in COVID-19 patients which have been assessed in various studies (5).It seems that COVID-19-related coagulopathy is a combination of low-grade DIC and pulmonary thrombotic microangiopathy which can have a significant effect on organ dysfunction in patients with severe COVID-19 (6).

Background: The progression of leukemia is substantially associated with the interactions of leukemic cells with surrounding cells within the bone marrow microenvironment (BMM), and these interactions were facilitated using exosomes as vital mediators. The current study aimed to examine the proliferative effects of exosomes derived from the HL-60 cell line, a representative of acute myeloblastic leukemia (AML), on the cell cycle progression of human bone marrow mesenchymal stromal cells (hBM-MSCs), a key element of the BMM.
Methods And Results: hBM-MSCs were treated with different concentrations of AML-derived exosomes from the HL-60 cell line.

Objectives: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic neurological disorder characterized by demyelination and neurodegeneration, leading to various physical, cognitive, and emotional challenges. Dual-task (DT) training, involving performing mental and physical tasks simultaneously, addresses the complex interaction between motor and cognitive functions.
Purpose: Given the extensive physical, cognitive, and mood-related issues in this population, this study aimed to examine the effects of combined aerobic-cognitive training (Brythonic) and aerobic training on brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF), DT performance, and mood state in MS patients.

Diffusion of hydroxide (OH) and calcium (Ca) ions through dentin may cease external root resorption. Calcium hydroxide (Ca(OH)), mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA), and calcium-enriched mixture (CEM) cement are the choices for this purpose due to their optimal properties. This study sought to analyze the effects of ultrasonic activation (UA) on pH and the release of calcium ions from Ca(OH), MTA, and CEM cement in external root resorption artificial defects.
