Introduction: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the second most common cause of cancer-related deaths globally. The gut microbiota, along with adenomatous polyps (AP), has emerged as a plausible contributor to CRC progression. This study aimed to scrutinize the impact of the FadA antigen derived from Fusobacterium nucleatum on the expression levels of the ANXA2 ceRNA network and assess its relevance to CRC advancement.

Background: Headaches are more prevalent in patients with multiple sclerosis compared with the general population. However, headaches are still considered a rare symptom of multiple sclerosis, especially when they appear as an initial symptom. The occurrence of a headache as a symptom of radiologically isolated syndrome (RIS) is uncommon, and it can significantly increase the likelihood of developing multiple sclerosis.

The impact of various neurodegenerative diseases on the retina has been investigated in recent years using optical coherence tomography (OCT). Epilepsy, classified as a neurodegenerative disorder, has been indicated to affect the structural integrity of the retina. Moreover, there is ongoing debate regarding the relative contribution of disease pathogenesis and the consumption of anti-epileptic drugs (AEDs) to these retinal changes.

Intestinal obstruction is a rare but life-threatening incidence in pregnancy. Diagnosis can be challenging for clinicians as the symptoms might be approached as other common obstetric complications. Performing radiological and abdominal surgery are also areas of great concern in this field; since radiologic studies inevitably expose the fetus to radiation and the treatment options mostly involve surgery that is worrisome during gestation.

Neurophysiology Research Center, Cellular and Molecular Medicine Research Institute, Urmia University of Medical Sciences, Urmia, Iran.

Breast cancer (BC) with aggressive metastasis is a serious ongoing public health problem among women. Graphene oxide (GO) has an inhibitory effect on the migration rate and metastasis of BC cells, but its various aspects have not yet been explored. This paper aims to research into the effect of GO nanoparticles (GO-Np) on the migratory behavior of MDA-MB-231 as a metastatic human BC cell line.

Background Sexual intercourse frequency (SIF) is widely known to be associated with fertility, but little is known about what predicts SIF among infertile couples trying to conceive. In this study, we examine the demographic and lifestyle risk factors associated with less frequent coitus among infertile couples. Methods This cross-sectional study examined infertile couples actively trying to conceive, selecting them from patients seeking fertility treatment.

This study aimed to estimate the quantity and trends of salt intake from industrial fermented dairy products, develop strategies to reduce salt content, and inform policymakers on promoting public health through healthier dairy options. A cross-sectional study was conducted on fermented dairy products. Seventy-nine random samples were selected, and the salt (NaCl %) content was determined by potentiometric titration after sample preparation and homogenization; also samples were analyzed for their moisture (oven drying method).

In this study, a new hybrid nanoparticle composed of magnesium hydroxide and copper oxide (Mg(OH)/CuO) with an optimized ratio of magnesium (Mg) to copper (Cu) was designed and incorporated into a 3D-printed scaffold made of polycaprolactone (PCL) and gelatin. These hybrid nanostructures (MCNs) were prepared using a green, solvent-free method. Their topography, surface morphology, and structural properties were characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS).
