Background: The pivotal factors, including neural plasticity, oxidative stress, neuronal inflammation, and apoptosis, play a significant role in the pathogenesis of tinnitus. The balance between Bax/Bcl-2 genes is an important factor in determining the rate of apoptosis. Pgc-1α and Tfam genes are fundamental regulators of mitochondrial biogenesis.

Background: The migration of health professionals from Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs) to High-Income countries (HICs) is an ongoing phenomenon that has been accelerating with globalisation. Objectives: Anorexia, fatigue and pruritus are common complications of hemodialysis (HD) patients. Today, the use of medicinal plants is more than synthetic drugs due to their safety. Therefore, we designed a randomized controlled clinical trial to evaluate the effects of () supplementation on biochemical parameters, pruritus intensity, fatigue, quality of life and anorexia in HD patients

Methods: This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial was performed on 50 subjects with, aged 55-65 years old.

Objectives: One of the most important problems of hemodialysis (HD) patients is anorexia due to the lack of proper treatment for it and on the other hand kidney disease is increasing. We designed a randomized controlled clinical trial to investigate the effects of supplementation on anorexia in HD patients.

Materials And Methods: This randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial was carried out on 58 subjects with HD, aged 55-65 years old.

Objective: Celiac disease (CD) is developed via autoimmune reactions against gluten which is mainly found in grains. Although HLA DQB1 locus is the most important genetic susceptibility to CD, some other variants such as A49G and G1359T of CTLA4 and CD14 genes respectively have been proposed as CD predisposing genetic factors in many vari- ous studies. We aimed to assess possible roles of A49G and G1359T polymorphisms in CD susceptibility in the Iranian population.

We aimed to assess the acute cardiopulmonary effects of a 100-mg oral single dose of sildenafil in patients with idiopathic pulmonary hypertension (IPAH) using a well-validated but less-used noninvasive echocardiographic method for the measurement of both systolic and diastolic pulmonary artery pressure (PAP), by tricuspid regurgitation (TR) velocity curve analysis. We studied 12 consecutive patients with IPAH (10 patients with New York Heart Association functional class III, and 2 patients with functional class II). A 100-mg oral single dose of sildenafil was added to previous medications of all patients and its immediate effects were evaluated 1, 5, and 12 h after treatment.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the relationship between pulp polyp formation and immunoglobulin E (IgE), histamine and interleukin-4 (IL-4) as the most important mediators which are involved in allergy. Thirty-two samples including 16 pulp polyps and 16 normal pulps were gathered. After homogenising the pulpal tissue samples, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) techniques were used to assess the concentration of IgE, histamine, IL-4 and IL-12.
