The high thermopower of ionic thermoelectric (-TE) materials holds promise for miniaturized waste-heat recovery devices and thermal sensors. However, progress is hampered by laborious trial-and-error experimentations, which lack theoretical underpinning. Herein, by introducing the simplified molecular-input line-entry system, we have addressed the challenge posed by the inconsistency of -TE material types, and present a machine learning model that evaluates the Seebeck coefficient with an of 0.

Flexible wearable sensors with bimodal functionality offer substantial value for human health monitoring, as relying on a single indicator is insufficient for capturing comprehensive physiological information. However, bimodal sensors face multiple challenges in practical applications, including mutual interference between various modalities, and integration of excellent mechanical properties, interfacial adhesion, environmental adaptability and biocompatibility. Herein, the multifunctional hydrogel, synthesized through radical grafting and supramolecular self-crosslinking reactions, exhibits excellent thermal sensitivity (TCR = -1.

Seepage accelerates the weathering and destruction of cultural heritage sites, posing a major preservation challenge, while the concealed nature of seepage channels complicates their detection due to noninvasive requirements. In this study, we applied a comprehensive geophysical approach, integrating electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) and self-potential (SP) techniques, to image seepage channels within the Leitai heritage site. These potential seepage channels have already caused a collapse pit measuring 3.

Temperature is a critical factor affecting the matric suction of unsaturated soils. This study employed a simple and time-saving method to investigate the influences of temperature and moisture content on the temperature dependence of matric suction in loess and sand soils. Based on experimental data, the fitting performance of three data-fitting models-Brooks-Corey, van Genuchten, and Fredlund-Xing -was evaluated at temperatures above 0 °C.

Pulpotomy, which belongs to vital pulp therapy, has become a strategy for managing pulpitis in recent decades. This minimally invasive treatment reflects the recognition of preserving healthy dental pulp and optimizing long-term patient-centered outcomes. Pulpotomy is categorized into partial pulpotomy (PP), the removal of a partial segment of the coronal pulp tissue, and full pulpotomy (FP), the removal of whole coronal pulp, which is followed by applying the biomaterials onto the remaining pulp tissue and ultimately restoring the tooth.

Purpose: Age-related cataract (ARC) remains one of the leading causes of blindness globally. Despite the satisfactory outcomes of surgical interventions, significant disparities in access to medical care prevent many patients from receiving effective treatment. Thus, identifying reliable biomarkers and therapeutic targets to expand treatment options for ARC is essential.

Background: Acute variceal bleeding (AVB), a life-threatening complication of liver cirrhosis, can be effectively treated by endoscopy, but there is a risk of early rebleeding after endoscopic variceal treatment (EVT). Thrombocytopenia is the most common hemostatic abnormality in liver cirrhosis. However, it is still unclear about whether thrombocytopenia increases the failure of EVT in cirrhotic patients with AVB.

Achieving high flexibility, breathability, and sensitivity in inorganic semiconductor gas sensors remains a substantial challenge, especially for wearable applications in high-humidity environments. This study develops a hyper-flexible, thermally stable, and highly breathable full-inorganic, self-supporting InGaO-AlO/AlO nanofiber membrane sensor, fabricated using a dual-spinneret electrospinning method with an interlocking design. This innovative sensor has a bilayer structure with an amorphous AlO nanofiber substrate layer supporting an active layer of high-aspect-ratio interwoven InGaO and AlO nanofibers, providing outstanding flexibility, elevated breathability, and strong thermal stability.

Organic-inorganic formamidinium lead triiodide (FAPbI) hybrid perovskite quantum dots (QDs) have garnered considerable attention in the photovoltaic field due to their narrow bandgap, exceptional environmental stability, and prolonged carrier lifetime. Unfortunately, their insulating ligands and surface vacancy defects pose significant obstacles to efficient charge transfer across device interfaces. In this work, an electrostatic harmonization strategy at the interface using a donor-acceptor dipole molecular attachment to achieve enhanced charge separation capabilities on the QD surface is ventured.

Regulating strategies for long persistent luminescence (LPL) are always in high demand. Herein, a series of coordination polymers (CPs) (SUST-Z1-Z4) are fabricated using 1,10-phenanthroline derivatives involving different substituents (─H, ─CH, ─Cl, and ─Br) as ligands, respectively. Crystallographic data demonstrate that these CPs adopt alternating arrangements of cadmium halide chains and π-conjugated ligands.

Atomic iodine ionization in perovskite crystals leads to defect formation, lattice distortion, and the occurrence of localized micro-strain. These atomic-level chemical and mechanical effects significantly alter the electronic band landscape, profoundly affecting device performance. While iodine stabilization effects have traditionally been focused on stability, their impact on electrical properties, particularly the coupling effect with internal stress and lattice strain, remains underexplored.

Synucleinopathies, such as Parkinson's disease, dementia with Lewy bodies, and multiple system atrophy, are characterized by the aggregation of α-synuclein. Variations in brain distribution allow for differentiation among these diseases and facilitate precise clinical diagnosis. However, distinguishing between synucleinopathies and Parkinsonism with tauopathies poses a challenge, significantly impacting clinical drug development.

Background: Increased backfat thickness of sows in early gestation is negative to reproductive performance. Endometrial receptivity is an important determinant of reproductive success, but it is unclear whether the effect of sow backfat thickness on litter size is associated with endometrial receptivity and whether melatonin treatment may have benefits. The present study seeks to answer these questions through in vitro and in vivo investigations.

CDK4/6i, the first-line drug for treating ERα-positive breast cancer, significantly improves clinical outcomes. However, CDK4/6i resistance often develops and remains a major hurdle, and the underlying mechanisms remain challenging to fully investigate. Here, we used Genome-wide CRISPR/Cas9 library screening combined with single-cell sequencing to screen for molecules mediating CDK4/6i resistance and identified METTL14 as a determinant of CDK4/6i sensitivity.

Soil cadmium (Cd) pollution poses a significant environmental threat, impacting global food security and human health. Recent studies have highlighted the potential of arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi to protect crops from various heavy metal stresses, including Cd toxicity. To elucidate the tolerance mechanisms of maize in response to Cd toxicity under AM symbiosis, this study used two maize genotypes with contrasting Cd tolerance: Zhengdan958 (Cd-tolerant) and Zhongke11 (Cd-sensitive).
