Background: The aim of this network meta-analysis was to clarify the efficacy and safety of different immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in combination with chemotherapy in the neoadjuvant phase for the treatment of locally advanced esophageal cancer.
Methods: We searched PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, CNKI and WanFang databases from January 2000 until May 2024. The primary endpoints were pathological complete response (pCR), major pathological response (MPR), R0 resection rate, objective response rate (ORR), disease control rate (DCR), treatment-related adverse events(TRAEs) of any grade and TRAEs of grade 3 or higher.

Background And Objective: Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have been widely applied and studied in the treatment of gastrointestinal (GI) cancers, and have achieved good results. However, in clinical practice, it has been observed that only some patients respond well to ICIs, and some patients may experience various degrees of adverse reactions during the treatment. Timely evaluation of the potential therapeutic effects and adverse reactions of ICIs for patients has important clinical significance.

Background: Circular RNAs can act as critical regulators in the tumorigenesis and chemoresistance of ovarian cancer (OC). Herein, this work aimed to probe the function and mechanism of circ_0026123 in the cisplatin (DDP) resistance and progression of OC and its potential value in the clinic.
Methods: The quantitative real-time PCR and western blotting were used to detect the levels of RNAs and proteins.

Background: This study aimed at investigating the association of sleep duration with body mass index (BMI) by gender among adult residents in rural Hanzhong of Shaanxi province, Northwest China.
Methods: A two-level stratified random cluster sampling method was used to select adult residents between the ages of 18 and 80 years. All information including sociodemographic characteristics and lifestyles was collected by face-to-face interview with a structured questionnaire.

Objective: To investigate the correlation between intravoxel incoherent motion diffusion-weighted imaging (IVIM-DWI) and the pathological classification of idiopathic orbital inflammatory pseudotumors (IOIPs).
Methods: Nineteen patients who were diagnosed with IOIPs (a total of 24 affected eyes) between November 2018 and December 2020 were included in the study. All the patients underwent magnetic resonance imaging orbital plain scans and IVIM-DWI multiparameter scans before an operation.

Lung cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors in the world. Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) accounts for about 80% of all lung cancers. About 75% of patients are in the middle and advanced stages at the time of discovery, and the 5-year survival rate is very low.

Background: A randomized controlled trial was performed to compare analgesic effects and adverse effects of oxycodone and sufentanil in patient-controlled intravenous analgesia (PCIA) after abdominal surgery under general anesthesia.
Methods: Adult patients undergoing elective abdominal surgery were randomly allocated into oxycodone and sufentanil groups according to the randomization sequence. Study personnel, health-care team members, and patients were masked to the group assignment throughout the study period.

Background And Aim: Gastric cancer (GC) is a fatal malignancy with high rate of recurrence and metastasis. Here, we investigated the correlations between the expression of autophagic protein LC3B and 2 epithelial-mesenchymal transition-related proteins (E-cadherin and Vimentin) and the clinicopathological factors and prognosis of patients with GC.
Materials And Methods: The expression of LC3B, E-cadherin, and Vimentin in GC samples (110 cases) and paracarcinoma tissues (40 cases) was analyzed using the Oncomine databases and further detected by immunohistochemistry.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) play important roles in several human cancers. Although miR-188 has been suggested to function as a tumor repressor in cancers, its precise role in glioma and the molecular mechanism remain unknown. In the present study, we investigated the effect of miR-188 on glioma and explored its relevant mechanisms.

Rationale: Malignant myopericytoma is extremely rare, with a few cases described in the English literature.
Patient Concerns: This novel study aimed to report a case of malignant myopericytoma with cancer cachexia arising in the left armpit. Also, it presented a review of the English literature regarding primary malignant myopericytoma, aiming to clarify the clinical features and potentially curative treatment.

Background: Interleukin-27 (IL-27) has been recognized as a pleiotropic cytokine with both pro- and anti-inflammatory properties.
Patients And Methods: A case-control study was conducted to investigate the possible associations of IL-27 gene polymorphisms with susceptibility to cervical cancer and clinical outcome.
Results: Our results suggested that the IL-27 2905T/G was significantly associated with a decreased risk of cervical cancer.

SET7/9 is a protein lysine methyltransferase that had been initially identified as a histone lysine methyltransferase which generates monomethylation at histone 3 lysine 4. Different functions were attributed to the protein methylation mediated by SET7/9. In this study, we found that the expression of SET7/9 declined in a majority of the human breast cancer tissues examined compared with normal tissues.

Metastasis is the leading cause of death in breast cancer (BC) patients. However, until now, the mechanisms of BC metastasis remain elusive. Cullin3 is a highly conserved Cullin family member present in the genomes of all eukaryotes, which has been proposed as an oncogene in many types of tumors; however, its role and underlying mechanisms in BC remain unclear.

The present study was to examine the effect of Tripartite motif 16 (TRIM16) on epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and metastasis in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cells, and its clinical significance in NSCLC. The correlation of TRIM16 expression and clinical features of NSCLC was analyzed in paraffin-embedded archived normal lung tissues and NSCLC tissues by immunohistochemical analysis. The effect of TRIM16 on EMT and metastasis was examined both in vitro and in vivo.

Objective: Irrational use of antimicrobial agents for preventing postoperative SSIs is a common phenomenon in China, which results in more bacterial resistance, higher hospital infection rates, extra costs of antimicrobial agents. The aim of the study is to evaluate the effect of Drug Rational Usage Guidelines System (DRUGS) on the surgeon's prescription behavior of antimicrobial agents.
Methods: 10 common surgical operations which included 1543 cases (where 778 cases using paper-based guidelines and 765 cases using DRUGS) were selected and their demographic and clinical data were collected.
