Medulloblastoma (MB) is a severe malignancy of the central nervous system that predominantly occurs in the cerebellum of children. Overactivation of the sonic hedgehog (Shh) signaling pathway is the primary cause of the development and progression of Shh subtype MB, although the detailed mechanisms underlying this process remain largely elusive. In this study, we discovered that Shh can promote proliferation in MB cells through non-canonical Hedgehog signaling.

Allergic diseases are a group of allergen-induced unfavorable immune responses initiating various symptoms in different organs. Mas-related G protein-coupled receptor X2 (MRGPRX2) on mast cells has been reported to be responsible for immunoglobulin E (IgE)-independent immune diseases and allergic drug reactions and has therefore been a crucial drug target for the development of anti-pseudo-allergic agents. Considering the active structural features of MRGPRX2, we designed and synthesized a series of diaryl ureas (DPUs).

Stromal-derived factor-1α (SDF-1α) is a chemokine signaling molecule that binds to the transmembrane receptor CXC chemokine receptor-4 (CXCR4) and carries out important functions in development tissue homeostasis. SDF-1α signaling via CXCR4 regulates the recruitment of stem and precursor cells to support tissue-specific repair or regeneration. In this study, we examined the contribution of SDF-1α signaling to the odontogenic differentiation of stem cells from the apical papilla (SCAP) induced by bone morphogenic protein 2 (BMP-2).

A growing body of literature has established a link between the cerebral ischaemic injury and pathological state of Alzheimer's disease (AD), and this correlation indicated that the preventive agent for ischaemia might improve the pathology of AD. Our previous studies have demonstrated that Neohesperidin (NH) exhibited neuroprotective effects against cerebral ischemia via the down-regulation of Bcl-2, Akt/PI3K and Nrf2 pathways. In the present study, we first confirmed the protective effects of NH on Aβ-induced neurotoxicity on primary cultured hippocampal neurons.
