Carbon-supported zinc single-atom catalysts have received considerable attention in the electrocatalytic oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) owing to the strong reduction capacity of zinc atoms and the abundant reserves of zinc elements. The common preparation method has been limited to the high-temperature pyrolysis of nitrogen-rich organic molecules and zinc ions, which makes it difficult to further improve the ORR performance. Herein, we first prepared ZnO/PNT/rGO aerogels as precursors via a simple hydrothermal method combined with freeze-drying, in which reduced graphene oxides (rGO) and polypyrrole nanotubes (PNT) together assembled into three-dimensional frames and numerous ZnO nanoparticles were anchored in the three-dimensional skeletons.

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is a globally prevalent and fatal malignancy worldwide, and identifying therapeutic strategies is time-consuming. Numerous reports have suggested the involvement of the NLRP3 inflammasome in the progression of various cancers. However, the detailed mechanisms underlying the role of NLRP3 inflammasome in HCC progression remain unclear.

Disrupted alternative polyadenylation (APA) is frequently involved in tumorigenesis and cancer progression by regulating the gene expression of oncogenes and tumor suppressors. However, limited knowledge of tumor-type- and cell-type-specific APA events may lead to novel APA events and their functions being overlooked. Here, we compared APA events across different cell types in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and normal tissues and identified functionally related APA events in NSCLC.

Ovarian cancer (OC), is a tumor that poses a serious threat to women's health due to its high mortality rate and bleak prognosis. Pyroptosis, a type of programmed cell death, is important for determining the prognosis of a patient's prognosis for cancer and may represent a novel target for treatment. However, research into how prognosis is impacted by pyroptosis-related genes (PRGs) is poorly understood.

Pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PAAD) is one of the most hazardous cancers in digestive system, and the prognosis is notoriously bad. Increasing evidences indicate that Laminin Subunit Gamma 2 (LAMC2) is critical for the initiation and the growth of various sorts of human cancers. However, the involved molecular pathways of LAMC2 in PAAD are still poorly understood.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) play key roles in multiple biological processes, many of which exhibit distinct cell type-specific expression patterns. A miRNA-inducible expression system can be adapted as a signal-on reporter for detecting miRNA activity or as a cell type-specific gene activation tool. However, due to the inhibitory properties of miRNAs on gene expression, few miRNA-inducible expression systems are available, and the available systems are only transcriptional or post-transcriptional regulatory system with obvious leaky expression.

The host stimulator of interferon genes (STING) signaling pathway is a major innate immune sensing pathway, and the stimulation of this pathway within antigen-presenting cells shows promise in targeting immune-suppressed tumors. Macrophages resident in tumors exhibit anti-inflammatory properties and enhance tumor growth and development. Polarizing such macrophages towards a pro-inflammatory phenotype is an effective strategy for tumor suppression.

Synthetic genetic biosensors that can operate at the transcriptional and translation levels have been widely applied in the control of cellular behaviors and functions. However, the regulation of genetic circuits is often accompanied by the introduction of exogenous substances or the endogenous generation of inhibitory products, which would bring uncontrollable hazards to biological safety and reduce the efficiency of the system. Here, we described a miRNA-responsive CopT-CopA (miCop) genetic biosensor system to realize real-time monitoring of the intracellular expression of miRNA-124a during neurogenesis or miRNA-122 under the stimulation of extracellular drugs in living cells and animals.

Precise characterization of miRNA expression patterns is critical to exploit the complexity of miRNA regulation in biology. Herein, we developed a Pumilio/FBF (PUF) protein-based engineering luciferase reporter system, PUF/miR, to quantitatively and non-invasively sense miRNA activity in living cells and animal models. We verified the feasibility of this reporter by monitoring the expression of several types of miRNAs (miRNA-9, 124a, 1, and 133a) in neural and muscle differentiated cells as well as subcutaneous or tibial anterior muscles in mice.

As a strategy that induces gene silencing by the delivery of small interfering RNA (siRNA) targeting a specific gene locus into cells or tissues, RNA interference (RNAi) technology holds the potential to be a powerful tool in a range of intractable disorder therapeutics. However, reliable noninvasive probes for visualizing the siRNA delivery and silencing efficiency have become a major obstacle in siRNA-based treatment. Here, we describe the development of an RNA-binding protein Pumilio/FBF (PUF)-based reporter probe for the monitoring of siRNA delivery efficiency and functional screening of effective siRNA target sites .

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the sixth most common cancer and the third most common cause of cancer-related deaths. The WW-domain containing oxidoreductase (WWOX) protein suppresses carcinogenesis and its absence is closely related to aggressive HCC phenotypes. In this study, by using SPR analysis, cell viability assay and xenograft mice models, we found that albendazole (ABZ), a safe and effective anthelmintic drug, exhibited the binding affinity with WWOX protein and potential inhibition effect on HCC cells in vitro and in vivo.

Strain degradation is a common problem in many artificially-cultivated edible mushrooms. As a fungus with poor tolerance to low-temperature, cannot delay its degradation by long-term low temperature storage like other fungi, so its degradation is particularly severe, which hinders industrial applications. Periodic mycelial subculture is a common storage method for , but excessive subculturing can also lead to strain degeneration.

Background: Micro- and nano-sized plastics (MPs and NPs) have become an environmental issue of global concern due to their small size, strong bio-permeability and high specific surface area. However, few studies have assessed the effect of polystyrene MPs and NPs on human lung cells. In this research, we evaluated the cytotoxicity and genotoxicity of polystyrene (PS) MPs and NPs with different sizes (2 μm and 80 nm) and surface modification (carboxy and amino functionalized polystyrene, pristine polystyrene) in A549 cells.

Objective: Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) explains about 80 percent of whole lung cancers, and its 5-year survival rate is impoverished, as when people are first diagnosed, 68% of whom are identified at a dangerous stage. The molecular mechanisms of NSCLC are still being explored.
Methods: GSE18842 and GSE19804 were exerted to scan for diversely expressed genes (DEGs) in NSCLC, and then we used GEPIA for the validation of DEGs expression.
