[SENTIERI - Epidemiological Study of Residents in National Priority Contaminated Sites. Sixth Report].

Introduction Adn Objectives: The Sixth Report presents the results of the "SENTIERI Project: implementation of the permanent epidemiological surveillance system of populations residing in Italian Sites of Remediation Interest", promoted and financed by the Italian Ministry of Health (Centre for Disease Control and Prevention - CCM Project 2018). The aim of this study is to update the mortality and hospitalization analyses concerning the 6,227,531 inhabitants (10.4% of the Italian population) residing in 46 contaminated sites (39 of national interest and 7 of regional interest).

Effectiveness of home-rehabilitation in patients after an acute coronary syndrome and myocardial revascularization.

Unlabelled: Physical activity is a mainstay (class IA) of rehabilitation programme after an acute coronary syndrome, but less than 40% of patients is physically active at one year. Home-rehabilitation, initially designed to manage the increasing number of patients in rehabilitation programmes, could result in a better strategy to increase adherence and persistence to physical activity.

Objectives: To test such hypothesis, At Cardiac Rehabilitation Centre (Institute of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Udine, Italy), physical activity adherence was compared between patients treated with a standard in-office rehabilitation programme and a cohort where home rehabilitation programme was added.

Road traffic accidents in Italy during COVID-19.

Objective: To assess changes in the number and severity of road traffic accidents in Italy in 2020, in particular after the beginning of COVID-19 and during the lockdown, as compared with 2019, with monthly details and geographical variations within the country.

Methods: Official monthly data on road traffic accidents recorded by the Police in Italy in 2020 were compared with those in 2019. The comparison regarded number of accidents, percent change, non-fatal injuries, deaths, injury index (injuries/accidents ×100) and fatality index (deaths/accidents ×100).

COVID-19 hospitalizations in children in the Autonomous Province of Trento (Northern Italy), year 2020.

Background: hospitalization rate of patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection can be considered as an indicator of severe COVID-19 burden. In children, however, hospital admissions may overestimate such burden.

Objectives: to describe the hospitalizations with COVID-19-related discharge diagnoses in the population <18 years of age in the 545,000 inhabitants of the Autonomous Province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige Region, North-Eastern Italy) in year 2020.

[The usefulness of emergency room data for integrated surveillance of spontaneous abortion at population level].

Objectives: to quantify and identify the proportion of miscarriages in the province of Trento (Trentino-Alto Adige Region, Northern Italy) in 2010-2016, managed exclusively at the emergency room (ER).

Design: population surveillance study.

Setting And Participants: comparison between the Trentino computerized database of registration to the ER for miscarriage and the flow D-11 of the Italian National Statistics Institute (Istat) on hospitalized miscarriages in the period 2010-2016.

[Antenatal course attendance among primiparous mothers, with physiological pregnancy and birth at term in Trentino (Northern Italy): characteristics of non-attender women and benefits among attender women in pregnancy behaviours, type of birth delivery and neonatal outcomes].

Objective: to outline the attendance rate of antenatal classes (ANCs) among women resident in Trentino Region (North-Eastern Italy) during the period 2000-2012; to identify the main sociodemographic characteristics of women who do not attend ANCs and to measure the effectiveness of ANCs attendance.

Design: cohort study with a retrospective data collection.

Setting And Participants: by the computerised database of Trentino Certificates of delivery care, primiparous mothers living in Trentino presenting a physiological pregnancy and birth at term (≥37 weeks of gestation) were selected.

Survival after cancer in Italian persons with AIDS, 1986-2005: a population-based estimation.

Background: Cancer survival in persons with AIDS (PWA) after introduction of antiretroviral therapies remains poorly characterized. The aim is to provide population-based estimates of cancer survival, overall and for the most important cancer types in PWA, and a comparison with persons without AIDS (non-PWA) affected by the same cancer.

Methods: PWA with cancer at AIDS diagnosis or thereafter were individually matched with non-PWA by type of cancer, sex, age, year of diagnosis, area of living, and, for lymphomas, histological subtype.
