This consensus document on cardiovascular disease in women summarizes the views of a panel of experts organized by the Working Group on Women and Cardiovascular Disease of the Spanish Society of Cardiology (SEC-WG CVD in Women), and the Association of Preventive Cardiology of the SEC (SEC-ACP). The document was developed in collaboration with experts from various Spanish societies and associations: the Spanish Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics (SEGO), the Spanish Society of Endocrinology and Nutrition (SEEN), the Spanish Association for the Study of Menopause (AEEM), the Spanish Association of Pediatrics (AEP), the Spanish Society of Primary Care Physicians (SEMERGEN), the Spanish Society of Family and Community Medicine (semFYC), and the Association of Spanish Midwives (AEM). Recommendations for the diagnosis and treatment of anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic autoantibody associated vasculitis.

Anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic autoantibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis is characterised by small vessel necrotising inflammatory vasculitis. Prior to immunosupressant therapy availability it usually led to a fatal outcome. Current treatment has changed ANCA-associated vasculitis into a condition with a significant response rate, although with a not negligible relapse occurrence and cumulative organ lesions, mostly due to drug-related toxicities.

In this review, it is evaluated the progress in the application of stem cell therapy to ameliorate the symptoms of bipolar disorder, major depression, schizophrenia, and autism. These disorders are highly prevalent in clinical medicine and are responsible for high levels of psychosocial disability among patients. All of them share common biomedical features, such as complex and variable genetic substrates, significant susceptibility to environmental changes, and insufficient knowledge of their pathogenesis.

Bainbridge-Ropers Syndrome (BRPS) is a genetic condition resulting from truncating variants in the ASXL3 gene. Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic, inflammatory skin disease affecting all age groups, particularly children. This systematic review provides an overview of the humanistic and economic disease burden in the pediatric population with AD in Spain. The evidence, collected from 11 observational studies published over the past 10 years, exhibits the most common characteristics of the patients, disease burden, patient-reported outcomes, use of resources, and treatment patterns.

[F]FDG PET/TC is an emerging tool in the evaluation of inflammatory arthropathies, characterised by their insidious course and clinical overlap. It allows detection of subclinical inflammation, assessment of systemic involvement and quantification of metabolic parameters useful in early diagnosis and therapeutic monitoring. In rheumatoid arthritis, it correlates with clinical indices (Disease Activity Score), serological markers (CRP, anti-citrullinated protein antibodies) and ultrasound findings, and facilitates the identification of complications such as cardiovascular and pulmonary involvement.

In this prospective cohort study with 2326 hospitalized children and young people with coronavirus disease 2019 in Spain and Colombia, 36.4% had comorbidities. Efficacy and Safety of a Desensitization Treatment With Rituximab and Immunoglobulin in Hyperimmunized Patients Awaiting a Cadaveric Kidney Transplantation.

Background: Patients on a kidney transplant waiting list with antibodies against more than 80% of a panel reactive antibody (PRA) are difficult to transplant, even with national or regional programs. Desensitization treatment with high-dose intravenous immunoglobulin and rituximab could be offered to patients with a long waiting time for a cadaveric donor to improve their odds of finding a kidney.

Methods: This was a retrospective, single-center study including all hyperimmunized patients on the waiting list for a cadaveric kidney donor who received a desensitization treatment between 2010 and 2020.
