Cutaneous leiomyomas consist of three types: piloleiomyomas (PL), angioleiomyomas (AL), and genital leiomyomas (GL), with each having distinct clinical and histological traits.
A review of 255 cases from two hospitals showed that PL had an incidence of 4.3 cases per million annually, with PL patients having a higher frequency of breast cancer compared to other types.
The findings suggest a need to revise the classification of nipple leiomyomas and further investigate the link between PL and breast cancer risk.
