Chordoid meningioma, a rare WHO grade II tumor, is known for its aggressive behavior and high recurrence rate. We report a case of a 44-year-old woman with progressive left-sided weakness, where imaging revealed a 3.0 cm lesion in the right sphenoidal wing with significant midline shift and edema.

Objective: To examine the predictors of the occurrence of severe thrombocytopenia and its impact on damage accrual and mortality in SLE patients.

Methods: Factors associated with time to severe thrombocytopenia (platelet count ≤20,000/mm) occurring from the onset of SLE symptoms were assessed by Cox proportional hazards regressions. The association of severe thrombocytopenia with mortality was evaluated by logistic regression analyses while its impact on damage was by negative binomial regression.

Pre-Existing Atrial Fibrillation in Hospitalized Patients with COVID-19: Insights from the CARDIO COVID 19-20 Registry.

Pre-existing (chronic) atrial fibrillation (AF) has been identified as a risk factor for cardiovascular complications and mortality in patients with COVID-19; however, evidence in Latin America (LATAM) is scarce. This prospective and multicenter study from the CARDIO COVID 19-20 database includes hospitalized adults with COVID-19 from 14 countries in LATAM. A parsimonious logistic regression model was used to identify the main factors associated with mortality in a simulated case-control setting comparing patients with a history of AF to those without.

[Prevalence and genotypic characteristics of anal papillomavirus infection in a cohort of HIV-positive men who have sex with men].

Objective: To determine the prevalence and genotypic characteristics of anal papillomaviruses in HIV-positive men who have sex with men (MSM).

Materials And Methods: This is a prospective cross-sectional observational study of HIV-positive MSM at Almenara General Hospital between September 2017 and December 2018. HPV detection and typing was performed using a polymerase chain reaction technique that evaluated 21 genotypes stratified according to oncogenic risk into six low-risk and fifteen high-risk.

Background/objectives: To assess the methodological quality of Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) for the diagnosis and management of Retinal Vein Occlusion (RVO).

Methods: A systematic review of CPGs for the diagnosis and management of RVO was carried out with a search in databases, metasearch engines, CPG development institutions, ophthalmology associations and CPG repositories until April 2022. [Proposal for initial management of uncomplicated ST elevation myocardial infarction in centers without percutaneous coronary intervention capacity in Peru].

ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) is a clinical entity whose adequate treatment will depend on its prompt recognition, accurate diagnosis, and management in reperfusion networks. The first contact with these patients is generally done in centers without reperfusion capacity, attended by non-cardiologist doctors, and in centers far from hospitals with greater resolution capacity, something that is well known in our country. This manuscript proposes a strategy for the diagnosis and treatment of STEMI in centers without percutaneous coronary intervention capacity of the public health system in Peru, emphasizing not losing sight of electrocardiographic patterns compatible with coronary artery occlusion, adequate fibrinolysis and management of its complications, the treatment of infarction in special populations and highlighting the importance of the pharmacoinvasive strategy as the main form of reperfusion treatment in our country.

[Sick sinus node syndrome ¿Pacemaker or ablation? Case report].

The tachycardia-bradycardia syndrome is the most frequent form of presentation of Sick sinus node syndrome and is commonly characterized by episodes of paroxysmal atrial fibrillation followed by significant pauses, especially in older adult patients. Other frequently associated tachyarrhythmias are atrial tachycardia and atrial flutter. The association between orthodromic tachycardia and significant pauses in these patients is an unusual presentation.

[Gastrointestinal hemorrhage as an uncommon form of presentation of primary intestinal amyloidosis: case report].

Intestinal amyloidosis is a rare and underdiagnosed systemic disease, which is characterized by the extracellular deposition of proteins that are grouped into amyloid fibers. This entity is rare and is usually a form of presentation in the context of systemic amyloidosis, the diagnosis of which is based on the presence of amyloid in histology. The clinic is usually non-specific; chronic diarrhea, weight loss, abdominal pain and bloating; Gastrointestinal bleeding is a very rare manifestation.

[Right hemitruncus in adulthood: an unusual finding].

Hemitruncus arteriosus is a rare congenital heart disease characterized by the abnormal origin of one of the branches of the pulmonary artery from the ascending aorta. In most cases, its diagnosis is made during childhood; in addition, due to its high morbidity and mortality, its asymptomatic evolution and survival to adulthood is extremely unusual. We present the case of a 30-year-old male patient, with a history of surgical closure of patent ductus arteriosus during childhood, who was asymptomatic until a year ago, in whom hemitruncus arteriosus was diagnosed after recurrent episodes of hemoptysis.

[Inflammatory Bowel Disease in elderly patients: Clinical characteristics and management in a tertiary hospital].

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in elderly patients is characterized by its clinical variability, different differential diagnoses and therapeutic management. The objective of our investigation is to evaluate the clinical characteristics and management of elderly patients with IBD. Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study in a representative simple stratified sample of EsSalud workers. We evaluated IgG anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibodies response (seropositivity) by passive (previous infection) and active immunization (vaccination), and epidemiological and occupational variables obtained by direct interview and a data collection form.
