'We are all children of war': a qualitative inquiry into parenting following adolescents' recent traumatic exposure in a multiple crisis setting in Beirut, Lebanon.

Strong familial bonds are crucial to building resilience among youth exposed to traumatic events in socially adverse environments. Exploring parental experiences in the aftermath of adolescents' traumatic exposure in these settings would help tailor early interventions. We qualitatively explored experiences and perceived needs among parents of teenagers aged 11-16 years who were exposed in the last three months to a potentially traumatic event in Beirut, Lebanon.

Serotonin reuptake inhibitors improve muscle stem cell function and muscle regeneration in male mice.

Serotonin reuptake inhibitor antidepressants such as fluoxetine are widely used to treat mood disorders. The mechanisms of action include an increase in extracellular level of serotonin, neurogenesis, and growth of vessels in the brain. We investigated whether fluoxetine could have broader peripheral regenerative properties.

We used a probabilistic reversal learning task to examine prediction error-driven belief updating in three clinical groups with psychosis or psychosis-like symptoms. Study 1 compared people with at-risk mental state and first episode psychosis (FEP) to matched controls. Study 2 compared people diagnosed with treatment-resistant schizophrenia (TRS) to matched controls.

Do Cognitive Subtypes Exist in People at Clinical High Risk for Psychosis? Results From the EU-GEI Study.

Background And Hypothesis: Cognition has been associated with socio-occupational functioning in individuals at Clinical High Risk for Psychosis (CHR-P). The present study hypothesized that clustering CHR-P participants based on cognitive data could reveal clinically meaningful subtypes.

COVACPREG, a French prospective cohort study of women vaccinated against COVID-19 during pregnancy.

The objective of this cohort study was to describe the French population of pregnant women vaccinated against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), their pregnancy outcomes and the health status of their newborns (malformation rate, neonatal diseases, etc.), and to proactively collect and analyze reported adverse reactions over time. We conducted a prospective study using an online questionnaire.

The French National Agency for Health Products (ANSM) is a regulatory and public health agency. Its regulatory, health policing and public health protection activities require a perfect fit with the field and the various people involved in the use of health products. Since 2019, the ANSM has adapted its organisation, procedures and processes to encourage and improve interaction with its stakeholders, as part of its policy of openness towards civil society.

Adherence to clinical practice guidelines for using electroconvulsive therapy in elderly depressive patients.

Objectives: Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) is one of the most effective treatments in mood disorders, mainly in major depressive episode (MDE) in the context of either unipolar (MDD) or bipolar disorder (BD). However, ECT remains a neglected and underused treatment. Older people are at high risk patients for the development of adverse drug reactions.

Mushroom Poisoning-Related Cardiac Toxicity: A Case Report and Systematic Review.

We encountered a case of mushroom intoxication complicated by "toxic-like" myocarditis. Because of the lack of systematized knowledge on this subject, we performed a systematic review of the literature on cardiac toxicity in mushroom poisoning (MP). The aim of this study was to identify and describe the severity, the causal relationship, and the mushroom species involved in other reported cardiac events associated with MP.

Habenular volume changes after venlafaxine treatment in patients with major depression.

Background: Habenula, a hub brain region controlling monoaminergic brain center, has been implicated in major depressive disorder (MDD) and as a possible target of antidepressant response. Nevertheless, the effect of antidepressant drug treatment on habenular volumes remains unknown. The objective of the present research was to study habenular volume change after antidepressant treatment in patients with MDD, and assess whether it is associated with clinical improvement.

Tobacco Images Choice and its Association With Craving and Dependence in People Who Smoke Cigarettes.

Introduction: Increased salience of drug-related cues over nondrug reinforcers can drive drug use and contribute to tobacco use disorder (TUD). An important scientific and clinical goal is to effectively measure this elevated drug-seeking behavior in TUD. However, most TUD assessments rely on self-reported cravings and cigarette consumption, not providing an objective measure of the impact of drug cues on biasing behavior toward drugs.

A recovery-oriented day hospital in psychiatry: A springboard for reintegration.

Psychiatric disorders are common and can cause psychological disabilities. While the creation of day hospitals (DHs) was intended to direct psychiatric care towards community settings, they may have paradoxically contributed to a form of chronicity. Furthermore, the heterogeneity and lack of evaluation of care within DHs prevent the availability needed to collect objective data on users outcomes.

Predictors of Functional Impairment in Bipolar Disorder: Results From 13 Cohorts From Seven Countries by the Global Bipolar Cohort Collaborative.

Objectives: Persistent functional impairment is common in bipolar disorder (BD) and is influenced by a number of demographic, clinical, and cognitive features. The goal of this project was to estimate and compare the influence of key factors on community function in multiple cohorts of well-characterized samples of individuals with BD.

Methods: Thirteen cohorts from 7 countries included = 5882 individuals with BD across multiple sites.

Study of the different sleep disturbances during the prodromal phase of depression and mania in bipolar disorders.

Background: One of the challenges in bipolar disorder (BD) lies in early detection of the illness and its recurrences, to improve prognosis. Sleep disturbances (SD) have been proposed as reliable predictive markers of conversion. While preliminary studies have explored the relationship between SD and the onset of mood episodes, the results remain heterogeneous and a few have specifically examined patients' perception of prodromal symptoms and their progression until the episode occurs.

Multisystemic Effects of Elexacaftor-Tezacaftor-Ivacaftor in Adults with Cystic Fibrosis and Advanced Lung Disease.

Limited data exist on the safety and effectiveness of elexacaftor-tezacaftor-ivacaftor (ETI) in people with cystic fibrosis (pwCF) and advanced lung disease. To evaluate the effects of ETI in an unselected population of pwCF and advanced lung disease. A prospective observational study, including all adults aged 18 years and older with percentage predicted forced expiratory volume in 1 second (ppFEV) ⩽ 40 who initiated ETI from December 2019 to June 2021 in France, was conducted.

Self-assessment scale of auditory verbal hallucinations (SAVH): A novel tool for patients with schizophrenia.

Background: A scale for self-assessment of auditory verbal hallucinations (SAVH) was developed for patients, and this study aimed to validate the scale by investigating its psychometric properties.

Methods: Forty one patients with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorders (DSM-5) self-assessed their hallucinations using nine SAVH questions. Each question was scored from 0 to 5, indicating the severity of the symptoms.

Heterogeneity of outcome measures in depression trials and the relevance of the content of outcome measures to patients: a systematic review.

Research waste occurs when randomised controlled trial (RCT) outcomes are heterogeneous or overlook domains that matter to patients (eg, relating to symptoms or functions). In this systematic review, we reviewed the outcome measures used in 450 RCTs of adult unipolar and bipolar depression registered between 2018 and 2022 and identified 388 different measures. 40% of the RCTs used the same measure (Hamilton Depression Rating Scale [HAMD]).

Factors associated with lamotrigine concentration/dose ratio in individuals with bipolar disorders.

Monitoring of lamotrigine levels is recommended in epilepsy. However, in bipolar disorders (BD), no study has described the therapeutic range in daily practice and factors being associated to it. We used retrospective data of individuals with BD, treated with lamotrigine, and included in the FondaMental Advanced Centers of Expertise for Bipolar Disorders cohort.

Study of therapeutic patient education practices in French renal transplantation centres.

Objectives: Therapeutic patient education (TPE) plays a critical role in the management of kidney transplant recipients. However, discrepancies exist in the guidance provided regarding the usage of immunosuppressants across different kidney transplant centres in France.

Methods: To assess the current landscape of TPE practices in this patient population, an online questionnaire consisting of 51 questions was distributed to 32 French renal transplantation centres.
