We developed a transparent and flexible electrochemical sensor using a platform based on a network of single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) for the non-enzymatic detection of hydrogen peroxide (HO) released from living cells. We decorated the SWCNT network on a poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) substrate with platinum nanoparticles (PtNPs) using a potentiodynamic method. The PtNP/SWCNT/PET sensor synergized the advantages of a flexible PET substrate, a conducting SWCNT network, and a catalytic PtNP and demonstrated good biocompatibility and flexibility, enabling cell adhesion.

This study aimed inhibition mechanisms of auditory processing in the group with autistic features. Thirty-two children (autistic group = 16, typically developing [TD] group = 16) received neuropsychological tests, IQ test and experimental tasks. Both groups showed similar performances except the processing speed index.

Background: Although numerous studies have examined the anatomic characteristics of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), its actual shape remains unclear.
Purpose: To determine the average shape of the ACL by analyzing its cross section through the use of high-resolution magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data.
Study Design: Descriptive laboratory study.

This study aimed to investigate the relationship between perceived/performance-based executive function and IQ. Additionally, the relationship between perceived executive function and intelligence was investigated cross-culturally between South Korea and China. Korean children (60; M = 34, F = 26, Mean age = 10.

This study aimed to determine the optimal model for explaining the aggressive behavior of schizophrenic patients in relation to certain behavioral variables including anger, schizophrenic symptoms, and cognitive function. Schizophrenic patients were evaluated with the Modified Overt Aggression Scale (MOAS) for aggressive behaviors, with irritability and resentment; with the Buss-Durkee Hostility Inventory (BDHI) for anger; with the Wisconsin Card Sorting Test (WCST) and the Grooved Pegboard Test for cognitive function; and with the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) for schizophrenic symptoms. The structural equation model (SEM) in AMOS 7 for the score of "aggressive behavior in the last week" in the MOAS, was used for statistical analysis.

Mouse oocytes were previously observed to undergo structural changes involving the perivitelline space (PVS) within the oviduct following ovulation, as visualized by staining with fluorochrome-protein conjugates. In the present study, this phenomenon was investigated in detail to determine the role of the oviduct and oocyte. Mouse ovarian oocytes matured in vitro were further incubated in medium or within explanted oviducts in vitro for varying periods of time and then stained with fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC)-casein.

The dissociation and the complexation behaviours of four fluoroquinolone antibiotics have been studied. The acid dissociation constants of ciprofloxacin, enoxacin, norfloxacin and ofloxacin were determined by conventional potentiometric and conductometric techniques. Increasing the Hammett substituent constant, the pKa values were decreased.
