In the construction industry, despite the development of technology and the efforts of companies, safety accidents are frequent, and the types of accidents are also diversified. In particular, when looking at the accident rates of the construction industry, the number of deaths from fall accidents accounts for a very high proportion. To resolve this, various measures to prevent fall, such as installation of safety railings and safety nets, have been proposed at the national level, but the effect is very insignificant.

Objectives: Long-term care facilities (LTCFs) are communal environments for patients with chronic diseases or older adults, making them particularly susceptible to significant harm during infectious disease outbreaks. Nonetheless, LTCFs have historically been subject to less stringent infection prevention and control (IPC) mandates. This study aimed to assess the current state of LTCFs and to develop an IPC system tailored for these facilities following the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

Accurate 3D image recognition, critical for autonomous driving safety, is shifting from the LIDAR-based point cloud to camera-based depth estimation technologies driven by cost considerations and the point cloud's limitations in detecting distant small objects. This research aims to enhance MDE (Monocular Depth Estimation) using a single camera, offering extreme cost-effectiveness in acquiring 3D environmental data. In particular, this paper focuses on novel data augmentation methods designed to enhance the accuracy of MDE.

Iliac artery angioplasty with stenting is an effective alternative treatment modality for aortoiliac occlusive diseases. Few randomized controlled trials have compared the efficacy and safety between self-expandable stent (SES) and balloon-expandable stent (BES) in atherosclerotic iliac artery disease. In this randomized, multicenter study, patients with common or external iliac artery occlusive disease were randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio to either BES or SES.

The Asian Society of Cardiovascular Imaging-Practical Tutorial (ASCI-PT) is an instructional initiative of the ASCI School designed to enhance educational standards. In 2021, the ASCI-PT was convened with the goal of formulating a consensus statement on the assessment of coronary stenosis and coronary plaque using coronary CT angiography (CCTA). Nineteen experts from four countries conducted thorough reviews of current guidelines and deliberated on eight key issues to refine the process and improve the clarity of reporting CCTA findings.

For autonomous driving, it is imperative to perform various high-computation image recognition tasks with high accuracy, utilizing diverse sensors to perceive the surrounding environment. Specifically, cameras are used to perform lane detection, object detection, and segmentation, and, in the absence of lidar, tasks extend to inferring 3D information through depth estimation, 3D object detection, 3D reconstruction, and SLAM. However, accurately processing all these image recognition operations in real-time for autonomous driving under constrained hardware conditions is practically unfeasible.

From late 2013-2022, 1131 cases of porcine epidemic diarrhea (PED) were reported to the Korean Animal Health Integrated System (KAHIS). There were four major outbreaks from winter to spring (2013-2014, 2017-2018, 2018-2019, and 2021-2022), with the main outbreaks occurring in Chungnam (CN), Jeonbuk (JB), and Jeju (JJ). Analysis of the complete spike (S) gene of 140/1131 KAHIS PEDV cases nationwide confirmed that 139 belonged to the G2b genotype and 1 to the G2a genotype.

A chimeric (KD26_E2LOM) was prepared by inserting the E2 gene of the classical swine fever virus (CSFV) LOM strain into the backbone of the bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) KD26 strain. KD26_E2LOM was obtained by transfecting the cDNA pACKD26_E2LOM into PK-15 cells. KD26_E2LOM chimeric proliferated to titers of 10 TCID/mL and 10 TCID/mL at 96 h post-inoculation into PK-15 cells or MDBK cells, respectively.

In South Korea in 2013, the G1-based vaccine failed to prevent an outbreak of G2b-type porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV), which is more pathogenic than the traditional G1-type strain, thereby allowing the virus to spread. In 2017 and 2018, field samples were cultured sequentially on Vero cells to isolate HS (virulent) and SGP-M1 (partially attenuated) strains, respectively, of the G2b type. The HS strain harbors a single amino acid (aa) change and two aa deletions in the N-terminal domain of S1 (IGE→KΔΔ).

The removal of nitrogen from coal tar pitch (CTP) through the hydrodenitrogenation (HDN) of CTP and its molecular behavior were evaluated in the presence of NiMo/γ-alumina and CoMo/γ-alumina catalysts. Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometry with atmospheric pressure photoionization was used to analyze the complicated chemical classes and species of CTP and the treated products at the molecular level. Nitrogen species were qualitatively analyzed before and after hydrotreatment.

This paper explored techniques for diagnosing breast cancer using deep learning based medical image recognition. X-ray (Mammography) images, ultrasound images, and histopathology images are used to improve the accuracy of the process by diagnosing breast cancer classification and by inferring their affected location. For this goal, the image recognition application strategies for the maximal diagnosis accuracy in each medical image data are investigated in terms of various image classification (VGGNet19, ResNet50, DenseNet121, EfficietNet v2), image segmentation (UNet, ResUNet++, DeepLab v3), and related loss functions (binary cross entropy, dice Loss, Tversky loss), and data augmentation.

Due to the recent increasing utilization of deep learning models on edge devices, the industry demand for Deep Learning Model Optimization (DLMO) is also increasing. This paper derives a usage strategy of DLMO based on the performance evaluation through light convolution, quantization, pruning techniques and knowledge distillation, known to be excellent in reducing memory size and operation delay with a minimal accuracy drop. Through experiments regarding image classification, we derive possible and optimal strategies to apply deep learning into Internet of Things (IoT) or tiny embedded devices.
