Oral lichen planus (OLP) is a prevalent oral mucosal disease characterized by an unknown etiology and a complex pathogenesis. Patients with OLP endure a chronic course marked by alternating non-erosive and erosive lesions, with no definitive cure currently available. Particularly challenging is the treatment of recalcitrant erosive OLP, highlighting an urgent need for therapies targeting specific pathogenic pathways.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the aging effects of long-term exposure to acidic beverages on the flexural strength (FS) and chemical reactions of two resin-based composites (RBCs) and one giomer. The FS of composite specimen bars (2 mm × 2 mm × 25 mm) was measured using a universal testing machine at various levels of thermocycling (TC; 0, 10,000, 50,000, and 100,000 cycles) in two beverages with different pH values (distilled water [DW], pH 7.0; Coca-Cola, pH 2.

Statement Of Problem: Support structures are essential for the quality of resin-based prostheses made by the digital light processing (DLP), but few studies have evaluated the effect of support structure on the accuracy of zirconia-based anatomic contour prostheses.
Purpose: The purpose of this in vitro study was to evaluate the effect of maximum support attachment angle (MSA) on the intaglio surface trueness of anatomic contour prostheses made by DLP and compare the trueness of 2-unit anatomic contour prostheses with that of those produced by milling.
Material And Methods: Anatomic contour single-unit prostheses were manufactured using DLP and a suspension with 3-mol% yttria-stabilized zirconia.

Introduction: This study aimed to determine if stress distribution from occlusal loads after targeted endodontic microsurgery (TEMS) differed for trephine-resected flat and curved root-ends, with and without bone graft.
Methods: Finite element analysis models were constructed from cone-beam computed tomography data of a TEMS-treated maxillary central incisor. Models included flat and curved resected root-ends, with and without apical bone graft, and normal or root canal filled controls.

Aims: This study aimed to investigate the clinicopathological significance of FGFR1 and c-MYC expression, particularly in relation to angiogenesis in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (CCRCC).
Methods And Results: Immunohistochemistry and fluorescence in-situ hybridisation were conducted with tissue microarrays from 91 metastatic CCRCC patients who received VEGF receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors (VEGFR-TKIs). The expression of angiogenic molecules, FGFR1 and c-MYC, and tumoral vascular density (TVD) and mRNA expression and TVD of 533 CCRCCs in The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) were analysed.

Stroke is a leading cause of death and disability worldwide. Conventional treatment has a limitation of very narrow therapeutic time window and its devastating nature necessitate a novel regenerative approach. Transplanted stem cells resulted in functional recovery through multiple mechanisms including neuroprotection, neurogenesis, angiogenesis, immunomodulation, and anti-inflammatory effects.

Objectives: Understanding the reason for an unsuccessful non-surgical endodontic treatment outcome, as well as the complex anatomy of the root canal system, is very important. This study examined the cross-sectional root canal structure of mandibular first molars confirmed to have failed non-surgical root canal treatment using digital images obtained during intentional replantation surgery, as well as the causative factors of the failed conventional endodontic treatments.
Materials And Methods: This study evaluated 115 mandibular first molars.

Objective: This paper describes changes in the characteristics of patients seeking orthodontic treatment over the past decade and the treatment they received, to identify any seasonal variations or trends.
Methods: This single-center retrospective cohort study included all patients who presented to Seoul National University Dental Hospital for orthodontic diagnosis and treatment between January 1, 2005 and December 31, 2015. The study analyzed a set of heterogeneous variables grouped into the following categories: demographic (age, gender, and address), clinical (Angle Classification, anomaly, mode of orthodontic treatment, removable appliances for Phase 1 treatment, fixed appliances for Phase 2 treatment, orthognathic surgery, extraction, mini-plate, mini-implant, and patient transfer) and time-related variables (date of first visit and orthodontic treatment time).

Unlabelled: Cementum formation on the exposed tooth-root surface is a critical process in periodontal regeneration. Although various therapeutic approaches have been developed, regeneration of integrated and functional periodontal complexes is still wanting. Here, we found that the OCCM30 cementoblasts cultured on fibrin matrix express substantial levels of matrix proteinases, leading to the degradation of fibrin and the apoptosis of OCCM30 cells, which was reversed upon treatment with a proteinase inhibitor, ε-aminocaproic acid (ACA).

Purpose: Salivary fluid formation is primarily driven by Ca(2+)-activated, apical efflux of chloride into the lumen of the salivary acinus. The anoctamin1 protein is an anion channel with properties resembling the endogenous calcium-activated chloride channels. In order to better understand the role of anoctamin proteins in salivary exocrine secretion, the expression of the ten members of the anoctamin gene family in the mouse submandibular gland was studied.

Genetic information such as DNA sequences has been limited to fully explain mechanisms of gene regulation and disease process. Epigenetic mechanisms, which include DNA methylation, histone modification and non-coding RNAs, can regulate gene expression and affect progression of disease. Although studies focused on epigenetics are being actively investigated in the field of medicine and biology, epigenetics in dental research is at the early stages.

Because of the potential morbidity and complications associated with surgical procedures, limiting the extent of orthognathic surgery is a desire for many orthodontic patients. An eighteen-year-old woman had a severe Class III malocclusion and required bi-maxillary surgery. By changing the patient's maxillary occlusal plane using orthodontic mini-implants, she was able to avoid the maxillary surgery; requiring only a mandibular setback surgery.
