Background: Few data are available regarding the efficacy and safety of a single-pill combination (SPC) consisting of four medications in patients with concomitant hypertension and dyslipidemia.
Objective: We aimed to determine the efficacy and tolerability of a fixed-dose SPC consisting of 5 mg amlodipine, 100 mg losartan, 20 mg rosuvastatin, and 10 mg ezetimibe (A/L/R/E) in patients with concomitant hypertension and dyslipidemia.
Methods: This was a 14-week, randomized, multicenter, double-blind, placebo-controlled, phase III clinical trial.
Background Data on the incidence, relevant patient factors, and clinical outcomes of the misdiagnosis of ST-segment-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) in the modern era of percutaneous coronary intervention are limited. Methods and Results Data from KAMIR (Korea Acute Myocardial Infarction Registry) between November 2011 and June 2020 were analyzed. Out of 28 470 patients with acute myocardial infarction, 11 796 were eventually diagnosed with STEMI following a coronary angiogram.

This narrative review aims to identify psycho-social issues related to the COVID-19 pandemic, especially among vulnerable populations. Through understanding the psychosocial meanings underneath, the suffering from the pandemic and the transformative experiences toward better society could be substantiated. Searching relevant studies and literature on psycho-social impacts in relation to COVID-19 was conducted from psycho-social points of view.

Introduction: Once-daily administration of phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors has been shown to correct erectile dysfunction (ED).
Aim: To evaluate the long-term efficacy and safety after once-daily oral administration of udenafil 75 mg in men with ED.
Methods: This clinical trial was an open-label, fixed-dose, 24-week extension study (DA8159_EDDL_III) of a 24-week double-blinded efficacy and safety study of once-daily udenafil (parent study: DA8159_EDD_III).

The objective was to investigate the cellular effect and action mechanism of Artemisia capillaris extract (ACE) and its component, scopoletin, on penile corpus cavernosum smooth muscle (PCCSM). In vitro study with PCCSM, the precontracted PCCSM with phenylephrine was treated with ACE or scopoletin. Cyclic nucleotides in the perfusate were measured by radioimmunoassay and expression of protein and mRNA of endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) and neuronal nitric oxide synthase in the perfused PCCSM were measured by western blot and real-time PCR, respectively.

Cyclosporine A (CsA) is widely used as an immunosuppressor in transplantation. Previous studies reported that CsA induces autophagy and that chronic treatment with CsA results in accumulation of autophagosomes and reduced autophagic clearance. Autophagy is a prosurvival process that promotes recovery from acute kidney injury by degrading misfolded proteins produced in the kidney.

Introduction: The method of administration of oral phosphodiesterase-5 inhibitors has been expanded to once-daily repeated administration with lower initial dosage than on-demand administration.
Aim: The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of once-daily udenafil as a treatment for erectile dysfunction (ED) for intermediate-term period.
Methods: This multicenter, randomized, double-blind clinical trial included 346 ED patients (placebo, udenafil 50 mg, udenafil 75 mg).

When the aging-dependent cellular behaviors toward growth factors and toxic stress have been analyzed, the perinuclear accumulation of the activated signals, either mitogenic or apoptotic, has been observed, suggesting the aging-dependent inefficiency of the nucleocytoplasmic trafficking of the signals. Thereby, it would be natural to assume the operation of the functional nuclear barrier in aging-dependent manner, which would be designated as "Park and Lim's Barrier." And for the ultimate transcriptional factor for these aging-dependent changes of the functional nuclear barrier, Sp1 transcriptional factor has been suggested to be the most probable candidate.

Our research aimed to conduct basic descriptions of temperamental traits and the level of state and trait anxiety of young male athletes, and to compare them by type of sports. Study participants were 277 athletes and 152 non-athletes who were all high school boys. The Korean version of the Temperament and Character Inventory (TCI) was used for checking temperamental traits while the Korean version of the State and Trait Anxiety Inventory form Y (STAI-KY) was used to estimate anxiety levels.

Background: Systemic amyloidosis occurring in early childhood is extremely rare, and is usually of AA type complicating chronic inflammatory diseases. We report the molecular basis of amyloidosis in a Korean girl who presented at 7 years of age with asymptomatic proteinuria and developed amyloid hepatomegaly and end-stage renal failure within 2 years.
Methods: Renal biopsy showed enlarged glomeruli virtually replaced by amyloid, but without interstitial or vascular involvement.

Hyperhomocysteinemia is a well-known independent risk factor for cardiovascular disease and is a prevalent abnormality in chronic renal failure. However, studies on this abnormality in children with chronic renal failure, before renal replacement therapy, are scarce. In this study, we measured the plasma homocysteine levels of 27 children (mean age 8.
