Cuprous oxide (CuO) exhibit significant potential for catalytic activity in the electrochemical carbon dioxide reduction reaction (CORR). However, the rapid reduction of Copper(I) (Cu) to metallic Copper (Cu) leads to catalyst deactivation, significantly impacting product selectivity and stability. This study aims to stabilize the Cu valence state at a metal-CuO heterogeneous interface through interfacial engineering, ultimately enhancing the electrochemical CO reduction performance of CuO.

The presence of PFAS in water matrices has become a global environmental issue in the last half-century. Dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) and electrooxidation (EO) showed potential for PFAS degradation but have yet to find practical application due to relatively high energy consumption. In this study, a hybrid DBD-EO system for efficient degradation of PFAS was developed by involving more reactive oxygen, sulfate radicals (SO) and nitrogen species (RONS).

This study introduces the Deep Learning-based Cardiovascular Disease Incident (DL-CVDi) score, a novel biomarker derived from routine abdominal CT scans, optimized to predict cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk using deep survival learning. CT imaging, frequently used for diagnosing various conditions, contains opportunistic biomarkers that can be leveraged beyond their initial diagnostic purpose. Using a Cox proportional hazards-based survival loss, the DL-CVDi score captures complex, non-linear relationships between anatomical features and CVD risk.

Gait disturbance is one of the most common symptoms in patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) that is closely associated with poor clinical outcomes. Recently, video-based human pose estimation (HPE) technology has attracted attention as a cheaper and simpler method for performing gait analysis than marker-based 3D motion capture systems. However, it remains unclear whether video-based HPE is a feasible method for measuring temporospatial and kinematic gait parameters in patients with PD and how this function varies with camera position.

Multidrug resistance (MDR) refers to the ability of cancer cells to resist various anticancer drugs and release them from the cells. This phenomenon is widely recognized as a significant barrier that must be overcome in chemotherapy. MDR varies depending on the number and expression level of the ATP-binding cassette transporter (ABC transporter), which is expressed differently in various cancer cells.
