Background: Current recommendations for weight loss in individuals with prediabetes come from individual trials and are derived from older data.
Objectives: To elucidate the dose-dependent impacts of weight loss on participants with prediabetes to determine the optimal magnitude of weight loss required for the implementation of the most effective diabetes prevention program.
Methods: We searched PubMed, Scopus, CENTRAL, CINAHL, and gray literature sources to September 2023 for randomized trials ≥6 mo that evaluated the efficacy of a lifestyle weight loss intervention on participants with prediabetes.

Parkinson's disease (PD) is a complex neurodegenerative disorder characterized by the accumulation of α-synuclein (α-syn) in the brain and progressive loss of dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra (SN) region of the brain. Although the role of neuroinflammation and cellular immunity in PD has been extensively studied, the involvement of humoral immunity mediated by antibodies and B cells has received less attention. This article provides a comprehensive review of the current understanding of humoral immunity in PD.

Diabetic ketoacidosis is a serious diabetes-related consequence that occurs in type 1 diabetes and less commonly in type 2 diabetes and is a major cause of death. It results from the metabolic consequences due to a lack of insulin secretion or impaired insulin activity in diabetes leading to dysregulated pathophysiologic pathways resulting in excessive ketone body formation. While ketone bodies are physiologic molecules, their high levels reduce the physiological pH of the blood and induce ketoacidosis, leading to increasing metabolic dysfunction.

Caffeine impacts sleep by slowing the onset, blocking adenosine receptors, lowering deep sleep levels, disrupting sleep patterns, and lessening rapid eye movement sleep. Although coffee can help with alertness in the morning, it may disturb sleep in the evening, particularly for individuals who are sensitive to caffeine.

Background & Objective: Besides the clinical and laboratory research on the COVID-19 virus, the bioinformatics study in the field of genetics of immunity to COVID-19 is of particular importance. In this account, studies show that in patients with COVID-19, the level of tumor necrosis alpha (TNFα) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) is high and in severe cases of COVID-19, the production of IL-6, TNF-α, and other cytokines increases profoundly. On the other hand, investigating the molecular structure and receptors of IL-6 and TNFα and the structural analysis of the receptor proteins may potentially help to develop new therapeutic plans for COVID-19 infection.
