Introduction: Several train accidents have occurred in Iran in the last twenty years, resulting in considerable loss of human lives. This study aims to investigate and analyze the response process and deficiencies thereof, of three responding organizations to two railway accidents in Iran.

Methods: The study was performed in 2 stages to examine the challenges faced by the first responders in the said accidents.

Background: Limb-girdle muscular dystrophy (LGMD) is a non-syndromic muscular dystrophy caused by variations in the genes involved in muscle structure, function and repair. The heterogeneity in the severity, progression, age of onset, and causative genes makes next-generation sequencing (NGS) a necessary approach for the proper diagnosis of LGMD.

Methods: In this article, 26 Iranian patients with LGMD criteria were diagnosed with disease variants in the genes encoding calpain3, dysferlin, sarcoglycans and Laminin α-2.

This retrospective study was performed on 190 women, who were selected from a total of 412 cases referring for colposcopy in one year. All patients underwent colposcopy and loop electrosurgical excision procedure (LEEP).

Predicting value of HE4 and CA125 markers for optimal cytoreductive surgery in ovarian cancer patients.

We conducted a cross-sectional study to evaluate the role of serum levels of CA125 and HE4 in predicting optimal cytoreductive surgery. Eligible women who had been diagnosed with ovarian cancer based on both clinical and imaging criteria were enrolled in this study. Serum levels of CA 125 and HE4 were checked before surgery and all patients underwent complete surgical staging.

Effect of Photobiomodulation on Structure and Function of Extracellular Vesicle Secreted from Mesenchymal Stem Cells.

The current study intended to evaluate the effect of photobiomodulation on the morphology and function of EVs secreted from mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) derived from periodontal ligament (PDL) and the adipose tissue (ADSCs) (from buccal fat pad) in vitro. These cells were irradiated at 660 nm or kept in dark as control. EVs were then isolated from each group using ultracentrifugation.

Aim: The aim of this study was to compare cardiometabolic measures between adolescents born to women with and without type1diabetes.

Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 103 adolescents (51 males) aged 14-19 years, born to women with type1diabetes were enrolled in the study. An overview of current therapeutic strategies for glioblastoma and the role of CD73 as an alternative curative approach.

Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is a complicated and heterogeneous brain tumor with short-term survival outcomes. Commercial therapies are not practical due to cell infiltration capacity, high proliferative rate, and blood-brain barrier. In this context, recognition of the molecular mechanism of tumor progression might help the development of new cancer therapeutics.
