The authors describe a case of bilateral diffuse paraneoplastic orbital myositis induced by a stage IA left testicular pure seminoma. The patient presented with findings typical of thyroid-associated orbitopathy (TAO) and was thought to have TAO until discovery of the malignancy. Treatment included an urgent orchiectomy, as well as 7 weeks of therapeutic plasma exchange.

Small cell carcinoma of the bladder is an extremely rare and aggressive disease with poor overall survival, as it is often diagnosed in later stages. Similarly, paraneoplastic thrombocytopenia is also a rare phenomenon infrequently described in the literature. Given its rarity but responsiveness to chemotherapy, awareness of atypical presentations helps facilitate appropriate treatment.

Background: Bilateral testicular germ cell tumours (B-GCT) are rare, with an incidence of 2-5%, and can be classified as synchronous (sB-GCT) or metachronous (mB-GCT). Our study aimed to identify clinical, biochemical, and radiological risk factors for mB-GCT in a cohort of patients with GCT at a single tertiary referral centre.
Methods: This retrospective case-control study included patients with GCT referred to Policlinico Umberto I-Sapienza University of Rome, from 2005 to 2023.

The presence and contribution of senescent cells in premalignant lesions is well documented, but not in germ cell neoplasia in situ. The purpose of this study is to identify the presence of senescent cells in pre-malignant testicular conditions and in different histological types of testicular cancer. Thirty patients who underwent orchiectomy due to testicular tumors were included.

Background: Compared to testicular germ cell tumors, the incidence of extragonadal germ cell tumors (EGCTs) is relatively low. While the lungs are a common site for metastasis of malignant germ cell tumors, primary pulmonary germ cell tumors are extremely rare.
Objective: To enhance the understanding of the diagnosis and treatment of germ cell tumors, particularly extragonadal germ cell tumors (EGCTs).

Testicular seminoma is rarely associated with occlusive venous thrombosis. Several investigators describe percutaneous guidewire recanalization for iliofemoral vein thrombosis; however, this technique is ill-documented for occlusion of the inferior vena cava, and even less information is available on managing pervasive iliocaval obstruction. Furthermore, there is limited data on percutaneous mechanical thrombectomy for malignancy-induced venous thrombosis.

We describe a rare and remarkable transformation of an immature mediastinal teratoma into high-grade angiosarcoma in a 21-year-old male. Mediastinal teratomas, particularly immature ones, are exceedingly rare, representing a small fraction of germ cell tumors (GCTs). Our case describes the clinical journey of the patient, who initially presented with acute chest pain and was subsequently diagnosed with an immature teratoma following imaging studies and elevated tumor markers.

Objective: To report on the incidental finding of invasive seminoma in a patient with nonobstructive azoospermia during microdissection testicular sperm extraction.
Design: Case report.
Patients: A single patient diagnosed with nonobstructive azoospermia underwent microdissection testicular sperm extraction, and an incidental finding of invasive seminoma was made upon histopathological analysis.

We describe a unique presentation of acute lower limb ischaemia due to metastatic seminoma in a middle-aged man with a large retroperitoneal mass. The patient underwent vascular bypass surgery of the right lower limb, completed chemotherapy, and had a right scrotal orchiectomy. The patient had pre-existing vascular risk factors including peripheral vascular disease and smoking.

Introduction: Germinal testicular tumors are the most common malignant neoplasm in men around 20 to 34 years. Even though they are unusual, they have increased incidence in the last decade; they have an excellent prognosis and overall survival at five years, approximately 95%. Divergent data exists regarding treatment options in patients with first, second, and third relapses with conventional therapy.

Background: The testes are the male reproductive glands and the homolog of the ovary in females performing critical functions. Pathologic conditions could arise from the testes and blunt or completely obliterate these functions leading to clinically overt or covert sequelae. The aim of this research is to study the pattern of histologically diagnosed testicular disease in relation to clinical features at the Jos University Teaching Hospital between January 2012 and December 31st, 2021.

Background: It is unknown whether 5-year overall survival (OS) differs and to what extent between the American Joint Committee on Cancer stage III non-seminoma testicular germ cell tumor (NS-TGCT) patients and simulated age-matched male population-based controls, according to race/ethnicity groups.
Methods: We identified newly diagnosed (2004-2014) stage III NS-TGCT patients within the Surveillance Epidemiology and End Results database 2004-2019. For each case, we simulated an age-matched male control (Monte Carlo simulation), relying on Social Security Administration (SSA) Life Tables with 5 years of follow-up.

Objectives: To compare the outcomes and treatment burden of primary retroperitoneal lymph node dissection (pRPLND) alone versus pRPLND + adjuvant chemotherapy (AC) in patients with pathological stage II (PSII) non-seminomatous germ cell tumours (NSGCT).
Patients And Methods: Retrospective review of the Princess Margaret Cancer Center eTestes cancer database identified patients with PSII NSGCT after pRPLND between 1995 and 2020. The primary outcome was relapse-free survival (RFS).

Background And Objective: There is an unmet need to avoid long-term morbidity associated with standard cytotoxic treatment for low-volume metastatic seminoma. Our aim was to assess the oncological efficacy and surgical safety of retroperitoneal lymph node dissection (RPLND) as treatment in a population-based cohort of metastatic seminoma patients with limited retroperitoneal lymphadenopathy.
Methods: Sixty-two seminoma patients in Norway and Sweden were included in the cohort from 2019 to 2022.
Introduction: 17α-Hydroxylase deficiency is a very rare disease reported to be associated with a risk of gonadal malignancy. We herein report a rare case of seminoma in a 46, XY patient with 17α-hydroxylase deficiency.
Case Presentation: A 52-year-old woman presented with a 9-cm pelvic tumor.

Testicular germ cell tumors are the most common tumors in adolescent and young men. They are curable malignancies that should be treated with curative intent, minimizing acute and long-term side effects. Inguinal orchiectomy is the main diagnostic procedure, and is also curative for most localized tumors, while patients with unfavorable risk factors for recurrence, or those who are unable or unwilling to undergo close follow-up, may require adjuvant treatment.

Spontaneous regression of testicular germ cell tumors is a well-known phenomenon; however, the precise mechanisms of spontaneous regression are still unknown. Our study aimed to investigate programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) expression in spontaneously regressed testicular germ cell tumors, exploring the link between the immune response and spontaneous regression. From a sample of 356 testicular germ cell tumors, we singled out 5 completely regressed and 6 partially regressed tumors.

We aimed to report sexual and reproductive outcomes following post-chemotherapy robot-assisted retroperitoneal unilateral lymph node dissection (PC-rRPLND) for non-seminomatous germ cell tumors (NSGCTs) at a high-volume cancer center. We collected records regarding sexual and reproductive outcomes of patients undergoing unilateral PC-rRPLND for stage II NSGCTs from January 2018 to November 2021. Preoperative and postoperative (at 12 months) ejaculatory function as well as erectile function, based on the International Index of Erectile Function-5 (IIEF-5) and Erection Hardness Score (EHS), were assessed.
