Pubertal timing is highly variable and is associated with long-term health outcomes. Phenotypes associated with pubertal timing include age at menarche, age at voice break, age at first facial hair and growth spurt, and pubertal timing seems to have a shared genetic architecture between the sexes. However, puberty phenotypes have primarily been assessed separately, failing to account for shared genetics, which limits the reliability of the purported health implications.

Background: Infantile epileptic spasm syndrome (ISS) is an age-dependent epileptic condition typically emerging within the first year of life, and adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) has been established as a first-line therapeutic drug for the ISS since 1958. However, there is a notable variation in ACTH dosage practices worldwide, with intramuscular injection being common in some countries and intravenous drip preferred in others, including China. Unveiling novel biomarkers for platinum chemoresistance in ovarian cancer.

Primary chemoresistance to platinum-based treatment is observed in approximately 33% of individuals diagnosed with ovarian cancer; however, conventional clinical markers exhibit limited predictive value for chemoresistance. Through the analysis of three GEO datasets (GSE114206, GSE51373, and GSE63885) utilizing bioinformatics methodologies, we identified two specific genes, MFAP4 and EFEMP1.

We report the case of a 28-year-old female patient (gravida 2, para 1) who underwent a cesarean section after 33 weeks of pregnancy due to severe preeclampsia. The placenta was deeply embedded in the myometrium. Localized myometrial ischemia occurred following repair and suturing of the myometrium at the placental attachment site.

Mother-to-infant transmission of the bacteriome, virome, mycobiome, archaeome, and their mobile genetic elements has been recognised in nature as an important step for the infant to acquire and maintain a healthy early-life (from birth till age 3 years) microbiota. A comprehensive overview of other maternal multikingdom transmissions remains unavailable, except for that of the bacteriome. Associations between microorganisms and diseases throughout the human life span have been gradually discovered; however, whether these microorganisms are maternally derived and how they concomitantly interact with other microbial counterparts remain poorly understood.
