Human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs) possess broad prospects in pre-clinical research. In vitro amplification of hMSCs requires appropriate medium to reach the number of seed cells with clinical significance. However, the uncertainty of the heterologous components of the traditional fetal bovine serum (FBS) culture medium has great safety risks.

Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are regarded as crucial regulators in tumor progression. Potassium two pore domain channel subfamily K member 15 and WISP2 antisense RNA 1 (KCNK15-AS1) has been confirmed to inhibit the migration and invasion of pancreatic cancer (PC) cells. However, its downstream mechanism and effect on other cellular functions in PC remain unknown.

Glioma is considered one of the most lethal brain tumors, as the aggressive blood vessel formation leads to high morbidity and mortality rates. However, the mechanisms underlying the initiation and progression of glioma remain unclear. Here, we aimed to reveal the role of circTLK1 in glioma development.

Glioblastoma (GBM) remains the most common and malignant tumor of the human central nervous system. Increasing evidence has highlighted that tumor cells with high transferrin receptor (TFRC) expression show advantages in growth. Long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) are related to glioma progression by mediating microRNAs (miRNAs).

Accumulating research implicated that circular RNAs exhibited significant roles in cancer development. Nonetheless, the role regarding circPTPN22 in pancreatic cancer remains unclear. Expression of circPTPN22 in pancreatic cancer cell lines and normal cells was determined with quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR).

Objective: Colon cancer has high morbidity and mortality rates, and proliferation, invasion and migration play an important role in colon cancer progression. Here, the effects of inhibin subunit beta A (INHBA) on cell proliferation, invasion and migration were investigated.
Methods: The UALCAN database was used to assess INHBA expression in colon cancer tissues and predict the survival of patients with high and low INHBA expression.

Brain structural abnormalities in idiopathic restless legs syndrome have long been debated. Voxel-based morphometry is an objective structural magnetic resonance imaging technique to investigate regional grey matter volume or density differences between groups. In the last decade, voxel-based morphometry studies have exhibited inconsistent and conflicting findings regarding the presence and localization of brain grey matter alterations in restless legs syndrome.

Background: Voxel-based morphometry (VBM) is an objective structural magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technique which allows researchers to investigate group-level differences in regional gray matter (GM) volume or density over the whole brain. In the last decade, VBM studies in restless leg syndrome (RLS) have exhibited inconsistent and conflicting findings.
Methods: Studies will be identified through a computerized literature search of the following databases: PubMed, Web of Science, and Embase until October 1, 2018 and updated on March 1, 2020.

Endovascular thrombectomy (EVT) has been recommended as the first line therapy for large artery occlusion (LAO) stroke. However, abrupt recovery of blood flow induces oxidative stress which breaks down the blood-brain barrier (BBB), activates apoptosis and inhibits neurogenesis. Supplement of exogenous antioxidants to relieve the injuries related to oxidative stress is a rational treatment combined to EVT for acute LAO therapy.

Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is inconclusively associated with regional gray matter (GM) abnormalities in Parkinson's disease (PD). We aimed to quantitatively evaluate whole-brain voxel-based morphometry (VBM) studies that have investigated brain GM changes in PD patients with MCI (PD-MCI). Seed-based d Mapping, a well-validated coordinate-based meta-analytic approach, was utilized.

Background: The genetic determinants of response to clopidogrel and aspirin are incompletely characterized. Recently, PEAR1 (platelet endothelial aggregation receptor-1) rs12041331 polymorphism has been shown to influence the platelet reactivity, but its impact on cardiovascular outcomes remains unclear in patients treated with antiplatelet agents.
Methods And Results: In this prospective cohort study, 2439 Chinese patients with acute coronary syndrome or stable coronary artery disease undergoing coronary stent implantation and receiving clopidogrel and aspirin were consecutively recruited.

Background: Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is increasingly conceptualized as a brain connectivity disorder. Recently, abnormalities in remote resting-state functional connectivity (FC) have been well demonstrated in the frontoparietal areas that linked impairments in large-scale intrinsic brain networks with aberrant fronto-striatal interactions. Beyond the remote FC abnormalities in OCD, many studies using regional homogeneity (ReHo) analysis have reported local FC alterations.

Accurate gross classification through imaging is critical for determination of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) patient prognoses and treatment strategies. The present retrospective study evaluated the utility of contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CE-CT) combined with gadolinium-ethoxybenzyl diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid-enhanced magnetic resonance imaging (EOB-MRI) for diagnosis and classification of HCCs prior to surgery. Ninety-four surgically resected HCC nodules were classified as simple nodular (SN), SN with extranodular growth (SN-EG), confluent multinodular (CMN), or infiltrative (IF) types.

Background: Gene data on infiltrative hepatocellular carcinoma (iHCC) are still unknown.
Aims: This study aims to identify the gene expression signature of iHCC compared with single nodular (SN)-type HCC according to the gross classification.
Methods: The whole-exome sequencing was performed in six matched HCC tumor/normal pairs (three infiltrative type and three single nodular type) from six patients who received curative hepatectomy.

Objectives: The present research aimed to evaluate the prognostic value of a novel risk classification of microvascular invasion (MVI) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) after resection.
Methods: A total of 295 consecutive HCC patients underwent hepatectomy were included in our study. We evaluated the degree of MVI according to the following three features: the number of invaded microvessels (≤5 vs >5), the number of invading carcinoma cells (≤ 50 vs >50), the distance of invasion from tumor edge (≤1 cm vs >1 cm).

Gastric intestinal metaplasia (GIM) is a pre-cancerous condition and a pivotal step in the formation of gastric cancer (GC). Aquaporin 3 (AQP3) has been found to be expressed in goblet cells rather than mucus-secreting glands. To investigate the characteristics of GIM in non-cancerous tissues adjacent to GC, as well as the expression and role of AQP3 in GIM tissues, 16 patients diagnosed with gastric adenocarcinoma of intestinal type located in the lesser curve of the antrum were consecutively enrolled in this study.
