Phospholipase A2 receptor 1 (PLA2R1) exists in many animals and plays an important role in membranous nephropathy. In this study, we aimed to evaluate a PLA2R1 knock-in rat model with repaired kidney function to study the molecular mechanisms of membranous nephropathy. We constructed the PLA2R1 knockout [PLA2R1(-)] model and PLA2R1 knock in [PLA2R1(+)] model in rats.

Phospholipase A2 receptor 1 (PLA2R1) exists important role in membranous nephropathy. In this study, we evaluate a PLA2R1 in a middle-aged rat model of renal function repair to further investigate the molecular mechanisms of membranous nephropathy. We analyzed the PLA2R1 knockout (KO) model and PLA2R1 knock in (KI) model in rats, extending the time to 85 weeks of age.

Background: Berberine (BBR), also known as berberine hydrochloride, was isolated from the rhizomes of the Coptis chinensis. Studies have reported that BBR plays an important role in glycolipid metabolism, including insulin (IR). The targets, and molecular mechanisms of BBR against hyperlipid-induced IR is worthy to be further studied.

Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine in Shanxi Province, Taiyuan, Shanxi 030012, China; Laboratory Animal Center, Shanxi Provincial People's Hospital, Taiyuan, Shanxi, China; Medical Sciences, UCSI University, Kuala Lumpur 56000, Malaysia. Electronic address:

Parkinson's disease (PD), which is the second most common neurodegenerative disorder, is characterized by progressive movement impairment and loss of midbrain dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra. Although mutations in TMEM230 are linked to familial PD, the pathogenic mechanism underlying TMEM230-associated PD remains to be elucidated. To explore the effect of TMEM230 depletion in vivo, we created TMEM230 knockout rats using CRISPR-Cas9 technology.

Electronic address:

Phospholipase A2 receptor 1 (PLA2R1) plays a crucial role in various diseases, including membranous nephropathy. However, the precise implications of PLA2R1 deficiency remain poorly understood. In this study, we created PLA2R1 knockout rats to explore potential consequences resulting from the loss of the PLA2R1 gene.

We investigated the association between c-Src and the progression of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and its underlying mechanisms. The relationship between c-Src expression and the occurrence and development of HCC was explored using GEPIA and further confirmed by western blotting analysis and real-time quantitative PCR. CCK-8, flow cytometry, Transwell, and wound-healing assays were conducted to analyze the effects of c-Src on the growth, cell cycle, apoptosis, migration, and infiltration of HCC cells.

As a treatment option for cancer, thermal ablation has satisfactory effects on many types of solid tumors (such as liver and renal cancers). However, its clinical applications for the treatment of thyroid nodules and metastatic cervical lymph nodes are still under debate both in China and abroad. In 2015, the "Zhejiang Expert consensus on thermal ablation for thyroid benign nodules, microcarcinoma, and metastatic cervical lymph nodes (2015 edition)," was released by the Thyroid Cancer Committee of Zhejiang Anti-Cancer Association, China.

Electronic address:

Article Synopsis
  • - The study investigated the effectiveness of laparoscopic surgery versus open surgery in patients with advanced gastric neuroendocrine carcinomas (G-NECs) by analyzing data from 175 patients who underwent radical gastrectomy.
  • - Results showed that patients who had laparoscopic surgery experienced shorter recovery times in terms of ambulation, first flatus, and dietary progression, while post-operative complication rates and long-term survival rates were similar between both surgical methods.
  • - The conclusion is that both laparoscopic and open gastrectomy provide comparable short-term outcomes and oncologic effectiveness for treating advanced G-NECs, suggesting that laparoscopic surgery could be an effective option.

Introduction: Lectin-like oxidized low-density lipoprotein receptor-1 (LOX-1) is involved in the pathophysiology of atherosclerosis and acute coronary syndromes (ACS). Circulating soluble LOX-1 (sLOX-1) has been linked to the risk of coronary artery disease (CAD). Our aim was to test if baseline serum sLOX-1 was associated with major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) in patients with stable CAD.

Our previous studies have shown that recombinant human phospholipase D2 (rhPLD2) plays a modulator role on NF-κB and PKC signaling pathways. It also inhibits IL-5-induced inflammatory response in chronic asthmatic guinea pigs. Additionally, increasing evidence also has revealed that the adoptive transfer of induced regulatory T cells (Tregs) may be a therapeutic solution to airway allergic diseases.

The multi-component system of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) is very complicated. The clusters are dynamic aggregates whose molecules are held together by hydrogen-bonded, Van der Waals forces or the opposite charges of particles attract each other. In this paper, field emission scanning electron microscopy proved that molecules form clusters in Pueraria thomsonii Benth (Fenge) water decoction.
