Rationale And Objectives: Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have revolutionized the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). However, immune-related adverse events still occur, of which checkpoint inhibitor pneumonitis (CIP) is the most common. We aimed to construct and validate a contrast-enhanced computed tomography-based radiomic nomogram to predict the probability of CIP before ICIs treatment in NSCLC.

Unlabelled: Acellular tumor extracellular matrices (ECMs) have limitations when employed as three-dimensional (3D) scaffolds for tumor engineering. In this work, methylene blue-mediated photooxidation was used to crosslink acellular tumor ECMs. Photooxidative crosslinking greatly increased the stiffness of acellular tumor ECM scaffolds but barely altered the Amide III band of the secondary structure of polypeptides and proteins.

Tumor engineering is defined as the construction of three-dimensional (3D) tumors in vitro with tissue engineering approaches. The present 3D scaffolds for tumor engineering have several limitations in terms of structure and function. To get an ideal 3D scaffold for tumor culture, A549 human pulmonary adenocarcinoma cells were implanted into immunodeficient mice to establish xenotransplatation models.

Objective: To investigate the effects of chondroitinase ABC (ChABC) combined with bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) in repair spinal cord injury of rats.
Methods: Primary BMSCs were isolated and cultured from the femur and tibia of neonatal Sprague Dawley (SD) rats. The spinal cord injury model was established in 24 adult SD male rats (weighing, 200-230 g), which were randomly divided into control group (group A), BMSCs transplantation group (group B), ChABC injection group (group C), and ChABC and BMSCs transplantation group (group D), 6 rats in each group.

Objective: To explore the expressions of bone morphogenetic protein 2 (BMP-2) and runt-related transcription facotr 2 (Runx2) and microarchitecture of trabecular bone periacetabula in adult patients with developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH).
Methods: Between March and September 2008, the trabecular bone periacetabulum was collected from 8 patients with DDH who were scheduled for total hip arthroplasty (aged 37-55 years, 3 males and 5 females, trial group) and from 8 patients with avascular necrosis of the femoral head (Ficat stage II) who were scheduled for hip resurfacing arthroplasty (aged 36-55 years, 3 males and 5 females, control group). The expressions of BMP-2 and Runx2 in the trabecular bone were determined by real-time quantitative PCR, and the microarchitecture was observed by micro-CT and the following parameters were determined: bone volume/total volume (BV/TV), connectivity density (Conn.

Background: The gluteus medius muscle is essential for gait and hip stability. Changes that occur in the gluteus medius muscles in patients with developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) are not well understood. A better understanding of DDH related changes will have positive repercussions toward hip soft tissue reconstruction.

Background: The technique of medialization has been used to reconstruct acetabula at the level of true acetabula in total hip arthroplasty (THA) in patients with developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH). Appreciation of the bone stock in the medial acetabular wall is significant for making an optimal acetabular reconstruction plan and avoiding complications.
Purpose: To evaluate the bone stock of the medial acetabular wall and its relation to the degree of subluxation in patients with DDH using computed tomography (CT).
