Background Accurate detection of arrhythmic events in the intensive care units (ICU) is of paramount significance in providing timely care. However, traditional ICU monitors generate a high rate of false alarms causing alarm fatigue. In this work, we develop an algorithm to improve life threatening arrhythmia detection in the ICUs using a deep learning approach.

We examined the association between routine biomarkers and atrial fibrillation (AF) in patients receiving a dual-chamber pacemaker for sinus node disease (SND) or second-/third-degree atrioventricular block.
Methods: We recorded clinical, laboratory, and electrocardiographic parameters as well as pacemaker lead parameters at implantation.
In cases of electromagnetic interference (EMI), if the source of the inappropriate EMI cannot be identified, then the sensitivity of the device could be decreased, or the cycle length of the VF detection trigger zone changed.
